gaming Anyone else as excited for the MCC and halo infinite as me?

So its been forever since i posted my very own topic on here but for someone that is as big of halo fan as me its just hard to contain myself! Anywho, im just curious how many halo fans are out there and if there are indeed quite a few what are your expectations for the MCC and the new game infinite thats coming to pc? Personally Im WAY overhyped and I think halo infinite could either be the best or the worst halo game to come by in a long time!

Anyway feel free to share your thoughts or theories on the matter and lets all get geared up for the "great journey" ^^

I am an Xbox pone, but personally I am not excited for Infinite in the slightest after the disaster that was Halo 5. I finally got around to playing the campaign, in co-op on Legendary and it was hoooooooooorrible. The story was horrible, the gameplay design was terrible thanks to the Prometheans being spammed everywhere and them using the Warden as a boss 7 different times was awful. The multiplayer was okay in terms of gameplay, but it was lacking in literally everything else. The progression system of Halo 5 is worst than games from 10+ years ago.

In terms of the MCC, I would be more excited for the new stuff coming to it like Reach, if the devs had any idea what they are doing. They supposedly wanted to have all of the Halo games in MCC on PC before the end of the year and we still haven't gotten reach. Hell, the Xbox One hasn't even got a playtest for Reach yet. All because they are using like 10 different engines for MCC for some damn reason.

I really like the Halo franchise, but 343 hasn't instilled any confidence in me lately.

I haven't really cared much for Halo since Halo 4, because I could see the way the games were headed and it was frankly in a very concerning direction. I didn't really enjoy Halo 4's campaign much at all, I kind of just ended up stopping around the 3rd mission or so, because the story felt really, really stupid and fairly contrived to be honest. It's like it was made just as an excuse for another Halo game. Because of course you have a legendary ending where Master Chief lives so why not abuse that to make another game...? Not to mention, the weapon variety was terrible to say the least  Also, the Prometheans were badly designed, and I don't just mean visually, either. As enemies, they really just didn't seem to be any fun at all. Like they just were made to try to say "hey there's something new in this game!" instead of actually being a well-thought out addition.

 

The multiplayer was fairly good, but that's all I could really say about it. Honestly, Reach's and 3's were both a bit better. But it felt like the game was trying to hard to be more like Call of Duty, which is honestly insulting to the franchise. At least it sort of felt like I was playing Halo, but at times it felt like I'm not sure whether I'm playing a Halo rendition of Modern Warfare 3 or an actual Halo game when I was playing multiplayer. I actually remember going from 4 back to Reach for multiplayer, because I felt like the Reach experience was just straight-up better. 

 

And it didn't even have Firefight... That was disappointing, to say the least. I really liked Firefight in Reach, it was probably one of the best designed wave-fighting modes, if not the best in any shooter I had ever played by a longshot, IMO. Also, they downgraded Forge quite a bit... I absolutely loved Forge in Reach where you could do so much with it and here it was more barebones than it even was in Halo 3, which came out 5 years earlier... 

 

That isn't to say it was necessarily a BAD game, but it was definitely bad for a Halo title. So I definitely had no interest in 5 at that point, and from what I hear I am absolutely GLAD I didn't. I held out a LITTLE hope for MCC (partially because it's on PC and I wouldn't have to deal with Xbox Live $#!+), but now that I know that it's being delayed thanks to developer incompetence... It's not worth any wait to me, and I'm frankly not convinced that they won't do these games another disservice. 343 really doesn't really seem to know where they should be going with this franchise at all. I have absolutely no trust in them whatsoever in all honesty. I've moved on, because of all of their blunders in Halo 4. And I really don't see a point in coming back.

im not much in  online since i havent played halo online in a verry long time so i suck at it XD im planning on saving up to get a xbox one x around christmas time or wait for scarlet...but who knows i may have enough for it when it comes out lol but ya im more into the story of the halo series which is why i also watch the two movies plus halo legends and halo 5 story was.... meh.

Id totally recommend giving it a chance! They are CLAIMING they are going more back to their roots and id really like to get the hype going on this one!

The only Halo game I enjoyed was Reach. The campaign is by far the best in the series imo, the colors in Reach aren't eye-scorchingly bright, and, of course, the forge editor is unmatched. That's the only one I'm excited for coming to PC. And was firefight in the other Halo games? That was a lot of fun to play, too, especially with how customizable it was.

Unrelated to the PC Halo release, I need to get an Xbox One soon so I can buy the digital edition of Reach (the backwards-compatible 360 version, anyway). I've been meaning to get a One for a while since my 360 fried itself, and once I do, I can finally complete the Reach campaign solo on legendary. I got stuck on the last mission years ago, and my disc cracked before I could finish it.

Yeah I'm so excited for it!!!! I'm just looking forward to the PC release hopefully I get choose to do a test flight that's be so awesome!

I'm fairly excited for MCC on steam and am going to buy reach as soon as it comes out. If it takes a while I don't mind as long as it's polished and has all the things I want for a PC fps.

Yes, I agree reach is taking FOREVER, I understand that they want the game to be as polished as possible and all that but come on its just a port its not like they are creating an entirely new game from scratch...I completely get you point in that aspect...

I'm happy to be getting more Halo on PC. And it's coming to Steam! Big plus. I'm not the biggest Halo fan, but I'll be very happy to play through the games on PC.
