Oh my God. Apparently I discovered something about how the turnip prices work that some of you people may or may not have realized:

On Monday morning the turnip price was 97 Bells. On Monday afternoon which I checked before I went to work was 92 Bells. Now I was still technically in the middle of talking with the Nook siblings dialog box open with my choices and everything before I put the game in sleep mode and went off to work by the time I got off of work it was already past midnight and way past closing for the Nook shop.

So when I woke up my system from sleep mode I was still technically in the middle of talking with the twins and what did I do? I asked what the turnip prices and half expected it still say 92 since it hasn't officially been open on Tuesday morning yet. But to my surprise they said the price was 87 bells and as soon as they were finished talking with me they kicked me out saying that it's way past closing and they're done with business for the day.

 

Apparently this means that the price was already set to be 87 Bells sometime after the shop has officially closed and I guess this means by tomorrow morning between 8:00 and 12:00 noon that 87 bills price will still be there. 

Did any of you other guys ever had an experience like that where you were left the game running or put in sleep mode in the middle of them talking that you were able to peek at the price the next morning? Even though the new day is not officially been renewed with new fossils, trees one day older, etc etc

I'll let you know when I can, but unfortunately ac-turnip doesn't know whether I have a high spike, a low spike, or a decreasing pattern this week---not yet, anyway.

Sure enough this morning on Tuesday it was 87 Bells just as it was already programmed to be when I ended up staying pass closing hours on Monday night. And then Tuesday afternoon it was 82 Bells

For this week so far my price was 97 Monday morning,

92 Monday Afternoon

87 Tuesday morning, although the price was already changed to that sometime after the shop close the night before while I was still technically in the middle of talking with the twins.

So far, I might get the decreasing pattern; I might need to rely on visiting somebody else's Island

Aaaaand I just did a stupid:  I had them in conversation-mode, went to take a shower, came back just after 10pm, I had the four options in front of me to Sell, Ask about Turnips, Ask what the Hot Items are, or End the Conversation.

I picked Sell instead of Turnip Prices :/

I'll have to experiment again tomorrow evening!

Thanks to you I was finally able to complete the Cornering the Stalk Market Stamp card, making a grand total profit of over 10 million bells.

Well here's a tip to that Conrering the stalk market nook miles. empty your whole house first and then fill up your entire house with turnips and then starting monday > saturday, you wanna search for the highest turnip price you can find. Filling up your entire house with turnips will take multiple trips to the island back and forth plus some of us aren't willing to time travel back so you have to sell fast. if night owl ordinance is set on the island, then you have until 11PM all time zones to sell your turnips if the turnip PM price is high which it will give you 11hr extension on the PM price. if early bird, then you get 5hr extension for the turnip AM price. if there's a beautiful town / island, and bell boom ordinance set on the island, then you will only get the regular hours to sell your turnips on that island.

Only night owl and early bird ordinances can give you time extensions so use these ordinances to your advantage. the other ordinances will not give you any time extensions for the turnip prices. Bell boom doesn't affect turnip prices so keep this in mind.

Normally I let ppl keep what they earned if it's a rush since my island ordinance is set to bell boom and within 1hr of closing time.

If i get another high price, i'll let you guys know, but it can't be AM since it's only 3hrs and i tend to be playing another game as usual after the opening time also i have the HHP DLC so i may be online, but tend to catch myself off time and/or trying to catch up with the DLC.

By the way, @Will Guide, I just experimented with starting a conversation with the Nook twins after 10pm, and they gave me the 66-bells-per-turnip price they had for Wednesday afternoon---so I can't confirm the same phenomenon you saw.

Maybe it's because of how I did it?  I initiated the conversation before 10pm, put my Switch in sleep mode, then powered my Switch back on after 10pm and selected "Turnip Prices" to get the result I got---did you do things differently?

Normally i use the turnip wizard to reveal the upcoming prediction, but sometimes these predictions can be small or large spike so there's no telling what the large spike price is

also in addition to what i said, if i have improved belongings and have high turnip price, i can let you guys into my island to sell your turnips so that way i can clean up more of my island while the improved belongings are in effect for the day.

Oh and just to let you guys know that 3DS and wii-u eshop will be closed down on march 2023 (which is next year) so if you guys don't have the animal crossing games for 3DS (which are happy home designer and NL) and AC WW for the wii-u VC, you'll have time to get them and do so, but it would be the final purchase however if you did buy them, it would be wise to re-download them ASAP. I think what's concerning about this closure is the sale so we won't know for sure until we get there. Animal crossing amiibo festival is optional if interested in playing it. I know saying this doesn't relate to the topic unless it's the whole animal crossing series and sorry for this late news and announcement about this.

Thanks for pointing that out!  I don't feel like staying up until midnight on a weekday (I have work in the morning!) but I might test this out this weekend.

I have a descending price pattern this week, by the by---all the more reason I should've looked at this thread religiously!

Like I said Kirby managed to help me get past the 10 million profit Mark so I probably won't be playing the turnip game that much anymore. However if Celeste is on your Island I would like to know even though the chances that I'll be free to visit your Island are now pretty slim with me having a full-time work that keeps me busy from 3:00 in the afternoon until midnight 5 days a week

Well If it wasn't for the last 1 hour of closing time, then you wouldn't have made the 10mil profit mark. I tend to keep my prices updated, but if i missed the price, then the turnip tracker will help me.

Like i said if we don't have the highest turnip price, it would be best for you to expand your search for the high turnip price. I have 2 places to search for high turnip price, but 1 tends to follow the turnip-exchange site which it gets crowded most of the time so that's why the hosts needs to put a limited number of ppl on the island.

Tomorrow Saturdays and I've been trying to bring my Switch to work only to play on my lunch hour 7-8 pm so I'd be able to listen to KK sliders so on which can only be done between 6:00 p.m. and midnight.

It's not possible to have celeste when K.K. slider is on your island so the chances of celeste appearing may be 0% > slim chance. had that happening before when i had showers on saturdays just fyi.

If you want some star fragments---or DIY cards (I need to get rid of a LOT of DIY cards, so I'm more than happy to have you come over and spend a good half an hour picking up and using DIY cards!), then come on over.  I've got that light meteor shower going, and I'm keeping my island open all night long!

EDIT:  Actually, it's like I built my whole island to benefit newcomers now that I look at it:  I have specific sections where I have orchards of each of the fruit trees except for coconuts, which are haphazardly placed around the beach.  I also have stands with free raingear of whatever color you like, and a farm near my tailor's shop with each kind of produce except for pumpkins, which are haphazardly placed in patches around my island so you could get all four colors.  Also:  blue roses and gold roses.  If you need bells, you could pick them and sell them; at 1000 bells per rose, you could get a lot of money in a short time, and honestly, I don't care if you pick every one of them:  they grow back pretty quickly!  If anything, being told just how much money you make doing that would slake my curiosity about how many I have, a this point!
