gaming Any opinions on Steve in smash ultimate?

The title pretty much explains this feed so I'll go first.

Steve looks like a pretty decent or maybe even a top tier character, for now that is, he's got some pretty decent ranges if you forget that his jump is worse than lil mac. He has helytra and blocks to counter that tho so in the end jumping low is not an inconvenient as it amplified the combos at low percent with his rapid attacks.

Playing Steve is pretty complex, for me, it's a pretty hard character to master but if you manage your way through his chaotic frame data, you'd be pretty much op. He's got so many tools it rivals the links.

Playing against him is an other business tho. It's either you manage to keep him off the ground, disabling his material collection ability and therefore destroying his tool sets, or you get destroyed because he got them ores.

That's a quick opinion out if the top of my head so it's in no way a complete analysis

I think he's really fun! I never cared about tier lists so I'm not going to look into it, but he's my favorite DLC ever. My other favorite is Joker, and Steve beats him by a longshot. I wanted Steve and I didn't even realize it. I brushed him off as impossible and said I wanted Cinderace the most, but now he's in the game and I couldn't be happier. Back air is also freaking epic

Steve being in the game as an overall concept is awesome. Minecraft is the best selling game of all time for good reason and rightfully deserving of that spot. Minecraft being represented here fully is so cool. 

The character himself? Super fun. Complex, very wacky, but that makes him so unique to play with. I am not one for any kind of competition with fighting games, especially not Smash, so I simply look for fun in a character and Steve has that in full. Being a huge fan of Minecraft myself, playing as him puts a smile on my face All the little references to make him accurate to the game he comes from are SO GOOD. Sakurai and crew are masters at doing this. The TNT attack in particular, to me, is hilarious.  I also really like the little touch of his grab attack where they get fenced in. That does enough to separate it from Isabelle's fishing pole grab. 

I also adore the state, of course. It is perfect. Having different biomes, different things going on in the background and overall just having a perfect representation of Minecraft. The only thing about Steve's pack that I find slightly lacking is the music. The music that is there is great, but none of those tracks are form the original game. Some have said those tracks would not make sense here since they are quite peaceful, but at minimum I would have loved to have "Sweden" in there. To me it doesn't matter if the music "fits" the vibe of the game. It's Smash Bros, anything goes really. 

Overall, this is probably my favorite of the DLC characters so far, though I've only bought him and Banjo. Even so, just from footage I can tell I like Steve above the others for sure.

So far I haven't purchased him, so I don't really have experience playing as him yet.  At first when I saw the announcement that he was in Smash, I was a little underwhelmed.  However after seeing more of how he functioned in the game, I become more interested in him and I am currently waiting to purchase him eventually.

From what I heard, he's already broken. People were quick to find 0 to death combos for Steve just hours after he was released.

Sakurai said that in the Steve presentation. I agree with you; I like the songs that were included, but I don't think the peacefulness of the music is really much of a good reason to exclude them. This game already has The Roost in the Animal Crossing stages, so that decision is a little inconsistent. Some songs could perhaps at least be remixed into something more energetic, which I would be interested in seeing. Oh well, you get to play as Steve in Smash.

I never cared for Minecraft, but I think Steve is a good inclusion and one that makes a lot of sense. And he does look like a good character for how extremely weird he is. I still find him a welcome addition

Exactly! We have a peaceful Animal Crossing song and it fits perfectly with the stages. 

In terms of a remix, I feel that this one in this trailer would be perfect. By the way, this trailer is unbelievably nostalgic for me. Good times.

But he's the OG blockman yo. What would be rad is if we could somehow get our custom character from Minecraft itself as a sort of import skin option. I don't even know if that would be possible but it would be dope.

Honestly, I haven't cared for any of the DLC characters that were added. I'm not saying they're bad/unwanted, just definitely not for me. I'm glad the people that wanted Steve got him.
