As a rule I try to keep anything too personal out of the loop. On MLP forums I can get a little more loose about such things because I know the ponies here and I’m wise enough to throw a false lead here and there just to throw you degenerates off I trust you all completely. :lie:

On major social media sites I keep the bare minimum public so friends and family can find me. I’m not one of those people who adds everyone they see to have a big friends list. Even if I do know you I may still not even add you, it depends on how close we are(this includes family.)

Nah. At some point I set my profile in social media to private but then reverted it back. I don't see any reason for me to keep it closed as the only thing people can find out about me is my name

The content I produce myself and support elsewhere, it's a whole private matter to me. Albeit harmless, I just value my privacy. Putting 100% of my heart into things I love is very, very personal. :coco: I imagine being naked on the public streets would feel the same. I don't use DeviantArt for this reason, I can't make favorite images private.

But a platform like this is different for me, when it's just about talking.

I get that and I used to be like that a while ago. It was mainly because one of my ex-boyfriends was stalking me on all of my social medias and I was feeling scared to keep my social media public. He once texted me my own address when I never told him that. We were in an online relationship and it was something I regretted as I found out later that he had a girlfriend in person. After those shenanigans, I decided that I wouldn't do online relationships anymore and I've stopped being fearful of my social media being public now. My fear was hurting me more than anyone else was hehe.

No, I personally don't see the reason why I should do this. I mean, it is up to me what for informations I post on my account. If a person did something really bad to me, I can block him/her. But for this, something really bad and personal must happen. This happens btw. only two times on a german MLP forum. And to be honest, I am not really active in the internet outside a few forums, Artwork sides like DeviantArt and YouTube.

I often turn my account into private for Twitter due to annoying toxics people. But then I figured I don't want my words to be private so instead I just turn off my notifications so I don't have to be bothered.  I just carelessly toss my words out there for them to chew on and I wouldn't know of it.

Most of the accounts I have can't be private but since they're things like YouTube and deviantart, it isn't a huge deal. This site is the only place I remember where I changed the privacy settings, but I believe most people have done that in order to get full accessibility on their profiles
