Okay. Multiple Canon characters can exist in the character system. There isn’t even anything stopping one roleplaying having two or three of the same character. 
 

Technically there is a way to allow other users to use your character. I have that turned off for now.

Gah, I have so many OCs now...this is the same situation I gotta go through with Canterlot Avenue...ugh...

Also, I hope that the old character database could be accessible at some point because it would be very arduous having to rewrite an entire backstory...I'd rather copy/paste.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are asking. Can you clarified  that a bit more?

Will I get notified when my character is approved?

Can I update a character (by adding information to the fields that I left blank, for example), and if so, does it require staff approval like when creating a new one?

I ... actually don’t know. We get notifications for when one needs to be approved and it should be sending it to you as well.

Yes. Updates do not require approval from my own testing.

when I look at my characters by looking under the character tab on my profile it said that changeling will guy and unicorn will guide are inactive...

even though I literally spent the whole last night changing many of my old post from a few RPs years ago to say Changeling Will Guide and Unicorn Will Guide.

I also made two posts as Unicorn Will Guide in the past 13 hours and it still said that I'm inactive in the second picture above

because my two OC characters are considered inactive they're not even appearing on the main Characters page from Simply clicking character:

That’s a bit strange since it should have been active but what got my attention is this 

last visited august 12, 2017. And I got a notification from your two characters pending for approval just last night. When did you made these two profiles? Because your character profile might be old and this is a new system Jeric is running and it probably can’t link with these characters if their profiles are made since 2017.

heya. Have been posting as Pinkie in her ask thread and wondered if the characters could set a default font/colour for themselves? 

That may be something easy to do and as a newb I just don't know how. But it would be really useful. Pinkie speaks in pink and she keeps nagging me about it.

It's totally not a priority though since I can just change it to pink

I believe you can’t set the colors or font as a default unfortunately. The system only allows you to change back and forth to your OOC and OC. But it won’t have its own separate things to change your posts such as color or font. You will have to change the color and the font as usual

If it's August 12th 2017, it might somehow be taking information from the old character archive which says that it no longer exists.

Because I know for a fact that I created a new character bio with a more recent picture last night. I did copy and paste some of the text on the old stuff from the still accessible character pages when the system was updated in 2019

but I know for a fact that I did submit a new updated version of the character last night and I made sure to click on new character on the character page

And I know for a short while all my characters were approved and all four of them were on the brand new character page, but then at some point last night Unicorn and Changeling Will Guide were considered inactive and disappeared from view on the main character page only to be accessible other ways.

I have proof in notifications that all four were approved last night.

I hope this feedback improves the system and I can get my actual original characters to appear again

@Will Guide I suspect what happened is that you created two characters and then updated old posts before creating a new post. That basically told the system that that character last posted over 90 days ago and boom! 

This makes sense how the system is built if RP is new ... but ... for our needs I’m going to shut off the automation that moves unused characters to inactive for a bit. 

Okay for the time being no characters will be moved into inactive. I’ll revisit that feature in a month or two

Maybe after I had created my new character bios last night I should have just gone to Ask Will Guide and just simply created a new post with the new character bios I just created. The system would then see my characters as completely "new" and then that problem might not have happened. Could that have been a valid solution?

Yep, and I appreciate the information. This is a new system and I couldn’t have tested everything, so this way with Characters being used in ‘the wild’ I’m able to figure out what works for this community. 

I moved your characters to a normal group so that should be that. Keep an eye on them and let me know if they switch back to inactive.

Why do I have the ability to "unapprove" a character? (It's one of the options when I click on the little gear icon next to the character.)

I have an OC character that hallucinates another OC and I was wondering, is there a way to put those two in the same character profile (since the hallucination character is dependent on the real character) or do they have to be separated?

It removes the character from visibility without deleting it.

They can be one character profile as there is precedent for this in similar systems.

I wish you could "stack" characters in RP's. (I know that is impossible.) 

I have a lot of questions in my "Ask My Little Ponies" thread where different characters answer a bunch of questions at once.

@Sparklefan1234 No. Sci-Twi and Princess Twilight are distinct characters. What was discussed are when one original character imagines another, or ... say someone has DID and can switch into different personalities. In these characters there is one physical vessel.
