If there was ever a series to win the award of “most adorable franchise” it would probably be the Kirby series!

I’ve played almost every Kirby game and they’re all pretty fun and easy to get through too!

My favorites would be Return to Dreamland, Epic Yarn, Kirby 64 and Triple Deluxe!

I’ve known what Kirby can do since he’s never missed a Super Smash Bros game, and that series was created by the same mastermind as the one who created Kirby, Masahiro Sakurai. I never really got into the series until I decided to start watching the old cartoon, Kirby Right Back At Ya, which I must admit I really enjoyed. I also purchased Kirby Super Star on Wii U eShop a while back, but never finished unlocking the whole game. I did enjoy what I managed to accomplish, but hopefully I’m able to get my hands on the ever elusive Kirby’s Return to Dreamland someday

I loved Kirby 64 back in the day, but I'm afraid I have had a hard time playing any other Kirby game. I hate to sound shallow, but I think part of it is in the visuals. Kirby 64 was a 2D platformer like all other Kirby games, but it didn't look like one, the environments were all in full 3D, it's just that Kirby was going down a set path. I wish they'd make a Kirby game like that again.

May be funny to say this now, but Kirby had the potential to become my 2nd favorite franchise if it wasn't for MLP, it could be my 3rd, but I'm not sure if I can consider myself a fan, never played any of the games unfortunately, but this has to be one of my top 3 favorite videogame series, the games of this series are some that I most enjoy watching walkthrougs, they seem extremely fun. The stories are so simple but sooooo good somehow, can't explain it, I love the characters, they're simple, colorful, cute, funny and cool, the exactly same traits that made me love Pones :ticking:, love the world too, it's a cute and colorful fantastic world full of crazy magic things and creatures (just like MLP again :eager:), I love how even though it's adorable, it can get dark and even scary some times (just like MLPPPP :kirin:) I love the vibe of the series, I have this belief that if MLP was japanese, it would have a similar or the same vibe.

I agree with Tao, Kirby is the true Nintendo icon and it just works much better as the mascot than a small old plumber in my opinion, I honestly can't get the appeal in Mario, the stories, characters and world just hardly look any interesting to me, and the games mostly just don't excite me, Mario Wonder looked bland to me, while Kirby and The Forgotten Land was a blast to me, Kirby music is also muuuuch better than Mario, sorry, but Kirby is just a better series than Mario, it deserves to be more popular. I'm definitely interested to see the next game :D

Actually i've been a huge fan of kirby since 1996 or so around the days that Original kirby super star was released. Original Kirby Super star was my first kirby game until later i started buying and collecting kirby games starting from kirby 64, but the only exceptions that i didn't buy was kirby tilt n tumble for GBC, Mass Attack for DS, rainbow curse for the wii-u. I ended up using kirby's name including japanese name as my inspiration.

Kirby may be a pink puff guardian, but he's a hero of dreamland. I like him regardless of those things, but What I like most about Kirby is that he's cute and adorable.

Around in my high school days, he had a anime series called Kirby Right back at ya. Kirby looked cute in the anime series, but it's true that he can't speak though except saying hi in some games.

My favorite abilities were sword, beam, SSB (as in smash), Mirror, Beam (including beam mage role in super kirby clash), Artist, Hammer, Ninja, Plasma, Tornado and Mecha abilities. Super abilities, I would say ultra sword (which is known for final smash), and flare beam. Final Abilities, well Mainly star rod and Master (which is known as galaxia sword, meta-knight's sword).

I don't have that much of favorite kirby game even though it's hard for me to pick a favorite kirby game. Every kirby game is an adventure to me, but if I had to pick, it would be Kirby and the forgotten land(s), return to dreamland (DX), planet robobot, the amazing mirrors, Super Star (ultra), 64, Kirby's Adventure / Nightmare in Dreamland, and Star allies.

I am (or rather, was) a big fan of the Kirby games, up until Kirby's Return to Dream Land. The last Kirby game I ever bought that I have now is Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition, which I bought when it was released in September 2012. But as time went on, I decided to leave the Kirby fandom and join the MLP community during around Season 4 of the show.

Kirby's taken on dictatorship, greed, monarchy, science, capitalism, religion, and a literal GOD OF DEATH (oh and also aliens). What's next? What else could be even more potentially evil?

The internet. Kirby will kill the internet in the next game.

I like Kirby. Games are super easy to get into and the copy ability is genius.

Edit: Triple Deluxe has to be my favourite Kirby game, but Forgotten Land comes very close.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

It depends on when and how you started become a kirby fan and/or player and which kirby games you have played so far.

I don't think the number of kirby games you have played really matters. it's only the matter of liking or loving kirby, but it can be anything goes including meta-knight, king DDD, and others.

I know a number of kirby games to start with for those that are new to the kirby games, but yeah, i may be able to recommend some kirby games to the ppl here that are new to the game series. For those with switch system and online subscription, you'll find most of the kirby games on NES, gameboy / gameboy color, and SNES for the switch although with expansion pass, you'll find 1 on N64 and GBA on switch.

Kirby anime aka Kirby right back at ya, i think you'll guys find some videos on youtube, but it may be hard to find at this time and point although some may be in japanese or the anime series may be in japanese.

It counts! I've only played 4 of the games but I love Kirby so much. I can also dump most of the lore on you; let's start by saying that to be able to understand Kirby lore, we have to forget that these are games, and I want you to really take this saga for what it really is. Platformers? Yeah, but above all, Fantasy. Ok, let's start.

What if two friends were to open a pizzeria? Wait, no. Wrong lore, sorry...

Coming back to say that I finally played Kirby and the Forgotten Land. What a fantastic game!

I'm really looking forward to see what they do next with 3D Kirby. ^^

Kirby is my favorite Nininto character if anything!  He was my go to in Smash Bros!  I also love the games and want to get one for my switch!   :manic-laughter:

Kirby and the forgotten land(s) is pretty much a popular game right now. Well as for the next kirby game, well it hasn't been revealed yet from the last direct so pretty much we're in for a long wait. there are other available kirby games on switch in case if you haven't played them which are kirby star allies, kirby's return to dreamland DX (which is a remake of the original version from the wii system), Super kirby clash, Kirby's Dream buffet, and kirby fighters 2. the others is what I mentioned on the last post.

Kirby has been my main or rather my all-time and most played character in super smash bros. As for the kirby games, What I said and the previous posts can help get you started.

Just on the note side about super kirby clash: it's pretty much the same gameplay as Team Kirby Clash and team kirby clash deluxe so all the roles are the same also if you wish to progress faster, you wanna buy gem apples by spending your eshop funds in order to grow the gem apple tree and buy the books although I may be able to help level up fast if you wish to do so, but the downside about that is there's a level cap so you have to complete enough missions in order the raise level cap so even if you can't complete the missions, you can always come back later with better and upgraded gear, and higher level.

I appreciate the suggestions!

I'm looking to pick up Return to Dreamland DX, since I didn't play the original. The only other mainline Kirby game I haven't played is Planet Robobot. I wasn't able to grab it off the eshop before it closed down and the ones up put up for sale online go for ridiculous prices. :/

Well If you asked me what changed in kirby's return to dreamland DX, all the controls are the same as kirby star allies, but keeping the motion controls from the wii system intact so you can shake the controller for super inhale and charging with spark ability regardless of what type of controller you use, but still helps though. Some of the Area layouts have changed, New ability challenges, New abilities, Sword, and hammer got a change which they will match the same as kirby star allies and kirby triple deluxe. New music. More bosses to fight which it includes the change in true arena.

New and returning sub-games, but scope shot has been removed in replacement of 2 new sub-games and the returning sub-games are from the past kirby games such as Egg catcher from kirby's adventure, crackity hack from amazing mirrors, Bomb rally from nightmare in Dreamland, Checkerboard chase from Kirby 64, Samurai Kirby from Kirby Super Star including new samurai Kirby 100 which is a online sub-game, Smash Ride from squeak squad, and kirby on the draw from kirby super star ultra.

The other Changes include magolor helper which is only good for those that are beginner and not played the original version before although it's not recommended if you're a normal difficulty player like me.

Souvenir Items are available, but to earn them, you have to play a lot of sub-games in magolor's merry magoland by earning stamps and there's a number of limit of souvenir items you can hold so only use at your own desperate times and situation. Usually they're best used in extra and true arena modes, but not needed in true arena if you're using tornado ability which is still broken ability however the only recommended souvenir items to use are random copy essences and healing items. the random copy essences has the mix effect so only use if you accidentally threw away your ability. healing items when you're in danger.

As for kirby planet robobot, i'm not sure if there's any other stores to buy aside from online like amazon. I know gamestop may have, but it may be used so there's no guarantees that the game's condition will be good and you have to delete one of the existing datas to create your own file if no file slots are available.

I love Kirby! I found out what because I played Animal Crossing & Splatoon and I wanted to see what other games Nintendo had (besides Mario, everyone knows who he is) I saw Kirby and thought it looked really cute! My favorite game is Kirby's Return to Dreamland.

then you'll like kirby's return to dreamland DX on switch. it's a remake, but you'll like the changes compared to the original. Everything in the remake is the same except the changes so what i said in the last post about the changes speaks true. There's also a demo available for it in case if you are interested in playing the game or knowing the changes so probably not needed if you played the original version before if you want to go straight for the full game.

Not particularly, but I downloaded a handful of Kirby titles on the 3DS:

- Kirby's Dreamland

- Kirby's Block Ball

- Kirby's Star Stacker

- Kirby's Pinball Land

- Kirby's Adventure (3D version of the NES game)

- Team Kirby Clash Deluxe
