Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Hoops and Dumbell are the four most important ponies in existence

In The Cutie re Mark part 1 and 2 we find out that Rainbow Dash’s rainboom is so important that it literally creates new realities when it is prevented. In one reality there is literally nothing but sand, no ponies or even creatures which means that they’re either all dead or had to move. This means that out of all the mane six Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are the most important. I am in no way saying that they are superior to the rest of the mane six just important to the timeline. Hoops and Dumbell are also important. Rainbow Dash couldn’t have done the rainboom on her own, Twilight tried but she needed to be really riled up. Defending her friend was a good motive which is why this incredibly significant event in all of Equestria was down to these four ponies.

Funny, since someone in the past once retorted me telling them that I weirdly liked Billy, Hoops, and Score with, "What was your fascination with those obvious throwaway characters?". I just responded by telling them that it's not like they were one-shot characters set up to be killed by a villain or something, I just thought it was cool they got to reappear again like they did in Season 5 on two occasions and have an odd status of importance in the show's lore. Rainbow Dash's importance in that event, she makes clear herself in the S5 finale, but Fluttershy and the other two mentioned, how they're signified in that event is never addressed by the show, and this is the first time I've seen a fan address their importance. So kudos to you, friend! :yay:

I agree that moment and those ponies were important, but the current timeline doesn't necessarily rely on that having happened. Nightmare Moon may have won for a while, or Chrysalis perhaps, but the increasingly chaotic timelines wouldn't have happened. The timelines were broken not because one event didn't happen, but rather because of Starlight's repeated tampering with time and her prevention of cutie marks from being realized. She was again and again preventing cutie marks, the essence of ponies' destinies, from existing and fracturing time in the process.

I never thought about it like that but then again, those timelines wouldn't of even existed without Starlight Glimmer's tampering of it like Totally Lyra said. I would say that those four ponies were important in getting the ball rolling so-to-speak, but the rest of the mane six was needed so they stand up to villains' like Nightmare Moon, Chrysalis, Discord, etc. I say stand up but really that was the case for two of those and the other was a reformation... You get the point. :twi:

All of the mane six are important but Fluttershy and Dash are especially important because without the rainboom the mane six would never have met eachother.

that's a really good point! the show established that without the sonic rainboom, the mane 6 never would have met, and then later on we get to see all the awful futures that happen because of that. So, quite literally, the fate of equestria rested on Fluttershy getting bullied and Rainbow Dash defending her! And like Kaitlynne said, I don't believe Rainbow would've been able to pull off the sonic rainboom on her own, since it's been shown that she was only able to achieve it in certain scenarios where either someone's life or her and Fluttershy's honor was on the line. Thankfully she learns to do it on command after a while, but she really needed that push from the race with the bully.
