A Season of Generosity

"Ah, good evening darlings!

Pleasant December to you, as you refer this time of year. You may not have seen much of me on here, busy not just with my Ponyville and Canterlot locations, but also channeling the spirit of giving for all my friends. Now, mums the word on what these will be. You never know who *cough* Pinkie *cough* Spike *cough* Sweetie Bell *cough* is listening. But the feeling of them witnessing their emotions when they do receive my artistic creations is well worth the effort. And every year they tell me I'm being too generous for my own good. Well for rewards like that, too much generosity doesn't feel like enough!

And that got me thinking. The act of generosity. It is so moving to experience. So moving to perform. so moving to witness. And yet, so easy to forget. And like a candle that gets blown out, perhaps it just needs to be lit again to illuminate the world just a little bit. So please, if any of you out there are willing, do share any moment of generosity from your life. Whether you were the recipient, the giver or merely a witness, its in the spirit of this season where we could use your stories the most. And maybe your generous story could inspire somepony reading it right now.

Well, I cannot chat for much longer. An artist work is never done! But I'll be sure to drop by in some time and seek inspiration from all you fine ponies! Ta ta for now!"

Oh dear... where do I begin??

Spoiler

First of all, you are the best pony Rarity, you are my inspiration to make art and being generous. I love to make Gifs, I have a comission shop yes but at the same time I made some art for people I care from the site for free because I want to enrich the OCs of them, I feel I'm giving them life, I gave many art gifts for Shiny Silvermoon, an amazing person, I also made some for Silky and Sirhugsalot, we had so much fun making art and see their reactions

Recently I made some gift for Silky to cheer her up and because I was working on some g5 models, she didn't recognized the pony as her OC, I thought Ok, it needs some work, then I made a lot of GIFs for the participants for the event of The Running of The Leaves because I wanted to infuse life and see all those lovely OCs running on the chat, am sure they can use it for other stuff, what it moves me the most is that am at least putting a soft smile on people

I felt that happiness doesn't cost anything, just a small push, and I felt I can make a difference, One of my friends, Shiny Silvermoon she is very funny, very random and always makes me laugh, I feel she is Pinkie and I am Rarity because I feel we have similar personality, I been doing gifs for her that enhance the jokes she makes like ilustrated, Wizard too, she is an amazing artist and I respect her talent but also she is a very cool person. I personally don't like to brag but I feel that this year has been my busiest in terms of giving art, and you know what? I feel satisfied and wish to give more.

I dont look for recognition or rewards or anything, I do it from the heart, not to mention, Shiny Silvermoon, Ice Princess Silky, Saturn Ring, ScarletTime and many other (apologies if I cant remember at the time) has also giving me art as well! that is so much sweetness to handle! Makes my heart melt, am used to always give but receive... it has so much meaning for me because I didn't asked for it, nor forced or imply, they just made it out of heart and that counts millions!, I know this entry is being big but, Generosity is something I like to have.

I know for sure that generosity is definitely on the rise this year. I’ve had some people helping me, and I’ve also been able to help others. I volunteer at a food pantry, so I’ve witnessed quite a bit of kindness. One particularly generous moment happened back in January, just a few days after I was stuck in the hospital over New Year's. I wanted to pay my phone bill while running errands, and when I stopped by a chocolate shop I like,  Mentioned a letter I had dropped off a few days before Christmas. Few days later I had a situation I do not want to talk about and on New Year's Eve which was on a Sunday but days after I went to the hospital I payed my phone bill and did my after Christmas shopping and when I stopped at my favorite shop they handed me a letter from this Elf told me to come back on Wednesday and when come back people came out from the back and was wrapped up was a box and a gift bag in the one wrapped up gift was Pokemon violet which lead me to one thing my switch light yellow too  and of course art supplies it was the best gift anyone gave me cause it kind helped with my blues a little but after that many things started coming around new friends too

Ah yes, the element of generosity. While I consider myself to be a generous person, I don't want the spotlight on me. Instead, I'll highlight wonderful acts of generosity by some beloved MLP Forums staff members!

This first person and I had a great time at BABSCon 2024! We roomed together, attended panels together, ate meals together, and browsed the charity auction viewing room together. Little did I know that this person was gauging my interests to see if they could get me a little surprise. Thank you @Dynamo Pad for your generous auction win. Outside of closing ceremonies, I sat on the steps reflecting on what I did to deserve it. I was absolutely dumbfounded! And I will forever cherish that flag.

This next person is one of the most beloved staffers here. After hearing about my other side endeavors, this person was delighted to hear that I was pursuing what I loved doing, so they decided to send a little gift to me. Thank you @Ice Princess Silky <3 for the amazing water bottle and for your overall generosity. You are amazing!

In the run up to Christmas I hadn't gotten around to buying the ingredients for my Christmas dinner. Then, the day before yesterday, there's a someone at my door. I open it and there's a man with a take-away tubs full of food. I told him I hadn't ordered anything but he said he was from the school across the street and they were giving out free full-Christmas dinners to people in the neighbourhood. I felt underserving as I wasn't homeless, aged or disabled but he insisted. So there it was, my Christmas dinner all taken care of!

Last night, Christmas eve, I was a straggler at a local Christmas carnival. It was full of rides and stalls that were being closed up and out of the blue this young man grabs my attention. He and his friend had been running this gourmet sausage roll and pork pie stand. Since it was the last night they had some left over stock and asked if I would like as many as I wanted fir free! So I took one of each.

As for myself, I recently participated in this site's Secret Santa event (which should really be called Hearth's Warming Helper.) I've been gathering up boxes of items to drop off at some local charity shops. And I've sent gifts to my grandma, parents and (for the first time) my young American niece. Specifically DVDs of some of the fist shows and movies I ever saw, namely...

  • Santa Claus the Movie
  • Wind in the Willows by Cosgrove Hall (film and series)
  • Around the World with Willy Fog.

These made my childhood, inspired me and I've never stopped loving them. I hope they can do the same for my niece. I think they will last longer and do for for her then any toy. Also, these shows and movies have largely been forgotten about and I like to think I'm introducing them to a new generation. Also (except for Santa Claus the Movie) I doubt she would ever see them in America.
