how many times have you been stung by a wasp/bee?

The actual bane of my existence. Wasps and hornets. I’ve been stung four times in my life. The worst was by a hornet.

I've been stung by bumblebees twice, and yellowjackets about five times, but luckily never by a wasp or hornet.

Five or more. One time I remember distinctly, my parents had a compost pile and I threw a few crab apples in there. The yellow jackets or whatever were living in there and several came out and stung me before I even knew what was happening.

Twice! First time was when I was a child. ;~; second time was a wasp. It stole a piece of my chicken... >:C

That's so weird that a wasp would even want chicken!

Thankfully I've never been stung before!

There was that one time when I was walking a dog and I let the dog decide where to walk. I ended up stung many times by wasps in my lower legs.

I think 3-4 times ever. Once pretty recently. You startle a wasp(s) nest and they will come at you immediately, faster than you can count to 1.

Wasps collect meat to feed their carnivorous larvae, while mainly subsisting off of nectar and other sugary finds as adults. Part of the reason they're so aggressive is that they're not polymorphic like bees, in having a predisposition as a worker, drone, or queen in the traditional sense. The queen in question has to fight for her position as the most dominant member of the colony, which encourages aggression. Wasps also lack barbs on their stingers, meaning they can get you multiple times, and continue on their way, unlike the honey bee, where their sting is fatal to themselves. Wasps lack the body hairs needed to help with pollination, but they are good for pest control against caterpillars and grasshoppers.

I would have to guess that I've been stung at least 15 times? The last time was most likely a bee on my forearm while rolling down a hill in 2017. Before that would've been 3 times by a wasp after I shoved a stick into a hole in a tree, and one flew up the length, around my arm, through the sleeve and onto my backside where it asked me how I liked them apples. That would've been 2014 I think? Before that I'm not so sure, the instances kind of just blend together from multiple times over the years at grandparents houses and daycare.

My first sting thought, I remember that one. I was with my grandparents eating fried chicken at a beachside picnic table. A wasp wouldn't leave us alone, and I had enough, so I climbed onto the table and clasped it mid air. I didn't squish it though, and peaked inside where I watched it ram that stinger into my tender 3 year old palm. Then the crying ensued. I guess I'm lucky I didn't get sting in the eye. That happened ti my mom when she was little, and now she has an epi-pen for emergencies.

I once stood on a live bee/wasp at a beach with my bare feet, let's just say the sting felt like a rashy sting rather than anything unbareable.

Fortunately, I haven't been stung by either of them. Not yet at least. :twilightoops:

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

By a bee? Never as I can remember.

By a wasp? Well, I think three times. One in my finger, one in my leg and one in  the udnersite of my foot (which was the hardest since I could not really walk the days later).

Once! When I was around 10 wasp got into my grandma's house while we were on the couch and tangled into my hair. When I tried to get what was in my hair out (silly me didn't know it was a wasp) it attacked my hand! Luckily I wasn't alergic :yeahno:

Over 30. All were yellowjackets or mud dauber wasps. Most came from mowing lawns where there were nests; one of which was a hole in the ground full of yellowjackets that swarmed me and account for half my current total. They got under my shirt, in my hair and stung me all over. The mud daubers usually got me on average of three or four a year for a good many years doing the same yard work. Good thing I’m not allergic, like my brother who swells up like a balloon from just a Mosquito bite.
