What a day. A day would embed into Carrick's mind for a long time. An investigation that has turned into a escape from a prison to defeat guards that had been mind controlled by the suspect, Ice Star. Carrick was successful from his tackle. However as Carrick and Blaze left the room they were being detain by at least a dozen guards. "Carrick, I have an idea but you have to get down, this might be a bit destructive" Blaze whispered to him.

 

"Do what you got to do, I don't want to die in a damn prison" Carrick ducked down.

"Incoming!" Yelled Ponyborn as he hurled a guard into the room Carrick and Blaze were in. He noticed Carrick ducked down. "Your doing what i think your doing arnt you?" Asked Ponyborn as he ducked down next to Carrick

Blaze pointed his horn at the guards, his horn glowed with intensity. Instantly the air around the guards turned to pure oxygen, Blaze used his horn to shoot a stream of sparks at the guards. At first it did not look like much, but once the sparks reached the guards there was a large explosion. Ponies were strewn left and right, making an opening to escape. " I think we have overstayed our welcome" Blaze said as an understatement.

Walking down the streets near the castle Starbolt had a lot going through her mind.

'From what I heard the bearers Elements of Harmony are missing.' She thought.

An explosion from the nearby prison distracted her thoughts.

'What in Equestria? That's coming from the prison, probably somepony is breaking somepony out.' She though as it is the obvious reason.

Starbolt arriving at the entrance she looked inside, she saw guards laying on the floor she assumed that they were breaking a criminal out.

She also saw Blaze and recognized him as the son of that infamous pirate.

'Shame I always thought he wasn't as bad as his father.' She thought as she made her decision to stop the prison break.

Starbolt concentrated and a wall of magical energy blocked the exit.

Blaze looked at Starbolt, at first he thought she was under the same spell as the guards were, but he looked closer and realized she was just a passer-by "Look, stay out of this, I don't want to have to hurt you" Blaze said, his horn glowing.

"You do realize that breaking prisoners out of jail and assaulting guards is illegal right?" Said Starbolt unafraid.

'I believe from what I heard he excels at fire magic. Hmmm....' Thought Starbolt as she cast another spell and her barrier took a light blue color from its usual transparent grey.

Blocking the way out. Blaze tried to reason with her however she seemed not to budge. All the time to have this, really?

"My dear girl," Carrick interjected. "That isn't the reason why were doing this. This something bigger going on and I don't have much time to explain. You have to trust us." Carrick said.

Starbolt could not step out of the circle fast enough, instantly she felt her magic energy leaving her body at a rapid rate, She could no longer keep the barrier up. "Do you like my S class spell, it releases any pony's MP if they are stepping in that rune. Hurry up Carrick lets go, we need to get out of here" Blaze said.

Starbolt stood there shocked at what just happened. Staring at Blaze.

Collecting herself tried to pull her thoughts together.

'Something bigger going on. Elements of harmony missing. Must be related, maybe I missjudged this group, I hope I did. I also want to learn that spell he just used on me.' She thought

"You were saying something bigger is going on, is it about the bearers of the Elements of Harmony going missing?" She asked the brown earth pony.

Carrick didn't have much time to talk. He tipped his hat and said, "yes." Carrick rushed out of the prison. This plan went straight to hell. For all Carrick knew, we just became high priority to the royal guards and we'll be the next ponies to be sent to banishment.

 

Carrick continued to run, there wasn't much time to think of plan as the adrenaline pumped into him. A loud sound alarm blared upon the walls of the castle behind him. He tipped his hat and said to Blaze "How far is Twilight's house? That's probably the safest place at the moment."

"I don't think we have time to introduce everyone now, we have loud siren and possible search parties to worry about at this time. We just need a place to regroup," Carrick replied. They needed to find a place to hide so they don't get caught. The siren gave the sense of urgency grown ten-fold. For all they know, they know each and every pony from this group. If that is the case than we have to found a place to at least would be

 

Carrick had been to Canterlot twice, both of them about work. His mind slowly gives spots that he had remember from both cases. If remember correctly there was a certain bar that even guards wouldn't get close to. He turned to Blaze and Ponyborn. However, alicorns aren't exactly the most common group of ponies to be there. They'll be a sore hoof and probably get into a fight with one of the gentlecolts. Carrick took off his hat. He brushed it off and look at Blaze. He placed it on his head, covering the horn. "I know a place, it ain't pretty but, it's probably the place to go to. However, Alicorn aren't exactly welcome there. We need to cover your horn so you just look like a peagsus. " Carrick said.

A prison that fed us inaduetly. A small box with bars as a room with a roommate who wouldn't stop to complain about her sister. The Great and Powerful Trixie does not care about her sister. All she had cared about was revenge. A revenge to something she had lost with that she cared about the most. That pony, that PURPLE pony took it away from her but, what could she do? She was stuck in a prison that and would have not gotten out in a long time. Mind Control is something they don't take softly, at all. Regardless of whatever she had chosen to do with it.

 

They took away her magic everyday. A spell that would drain the magic right of her. The more they did the spell, the longer it would take for her to get her magic back. It would have been to a point where she couldn't do magic for years or even a lifetime. However, it had only been three weeks so, it would take a while for her to be in full power. At least a month, maybe less.

 

Now, as takes off the orange uniform that she had worn for too long. She is now stuck with a detective who had tricked her. A infamous alicorn. A questionable alicorn, who did not talk at all except when with Carrick. A....exlover, somepony who she has not seen in quite a while. There were days where she had missed him on her travels. She had decide what feeling it was yet. Than, this...wait...you?

 

Trixie remembered the unicorn that had frowned at her. Her bicolor curly hair. That light blue eyes and fur. That cutie mark of a wand.

A giant glare came from Trixie, she didn't like her as well.

Carrick gave a sigh. Carrick pushed on. He lead the group to various turns into Canterlot. As they slowly deeper into Canterlot. Ponies wearing worn out clothes. Some with scratches on their bodies. Manes' dirty and greasy. Where ever they are this isn't the noble side of Canterlot no more. Carrick continue to walk as they went into a alley with a wooden door on the side of the wall. He turned to the group "We're just staying here for a bit to get us off the radar. When the time comes, we'll be heading back to Ponyville and start our investigation on this Blue Star. Try to stay off the radar, I rather not get into another fight." Carrick said.

 

Carrick remembered this place well. He got information from a certain somepony from here on his investigation before getting into a fight by some random pony five seconds later. This place isn't exactly the safest place to be but, he felt somewhat safe here. Carrick tap the door three times, two times, and than three time again. The door was unlock and slowly open. A smell of alcohol and various other odors fumed the air...

Blaze had found a guards hat to put over his horn as per Carricks request. He wasn't sure if he should hide his cutie mark since it was what normally got him in trouble, lots of nobles knew who he was simply by looking at his cutie mark, he hoped there were no nobles here. He knew where they were going all too well, as soon as Carrick stopped in front of the door. This was Blaze's father's head quarters at one point, having become an infamous pirate he used his brute force to take it over. This place had many names, but Blaze knew it as 'Pheonix ashes', he remembered how when his dad died someone else took over this underground hang out, and changed the name, but he was not sure what it was changed too. As they stepped in the smell of booze, bile, and sweat, filled his lungs. Well the smell hasn't changed much Blaze thought.

"So Trixie what are you in jail for? Your performance was so horrible that somepony died and they had to arrest you?" Starbolt said towards Trixie.

Arriving at a door she watched Carrick knock on the door taking note of how he knocked.

Stepping in she is immediately struck by the foul smell of the place.

'This place almost smells as bad as Trixie's performances' She thought.
