Quick kind of just stood there. So that Earth Pony was the leader, and there was a pony with weird eyes that... was kind of a mix between a Unicorn and an Earth Pony. And lots of other people and things, all searching, more or less, for what he was. Well, maybe not the magical hybrid pony, but lots of ponies were already after his goal. He looked around, but everypony seemed occupied for the moment, so he kind of just sat in a corner.

Without knowing it, the warmth of Dante lulled Blaze to sleep. He woke up when he realized the talking in the room came from someone he had not heard. A stranger, he woke straight up. "Who in the hoof is that?" Blaze said confused.

"A pony with the powers of black magic," Carrick replied. "Seemed he's been living in these mountains as well. Not sure how he hasn't had any problems Ice Star and his comrades." Carrick said, he scratched his head. "That is a good question, though." Carrick concluded.

Blaze instantly got furious. "B-black.... BLACK MAGIC! BLACK MAGIC!!! HE NEEDS TO GET THE HOOF OUT OF HERE BEFORE I CONVERT HIM TO CARBON AT THE MOLECULAR LEVEL." Blaze yelled in his royal canterlot voice, not only his horn but his eyes were glowing red also.

Quick looked up. He knew that the conversation they had been having was important, and that this new pony was not helping. He quickly walked over to Blaze, "Woah, settle down. Let's hear what the pony has to say before we explode them into a million gory bits, shall we?"

Thunder went down to check on the others, seeing as how they woke him up anyway. "Who are the two new strays?" he asked looking at Hypno and Quick as he pulled a Rose Sandwich, wrapped in plastic out of his saddlebag.

"Is it me or is everypony having some sort of breakdown?" Carrick said as he sighed. Though he wasn't exactly content that a pony was doing illegal magic. He wasn't exactly against it. "Blaze, maybe you should calm down and try to give me a reason why he should leave."The detective said.

Quickly turned to the next new pony that came down the steps,"I'm Quickly Point. I'm looking for Rainbow Dash," he says, taking his goggles off and letting them hang around his neck. "The rest of your question needs to be answered by someone else."

Blaze calmed down a bit "I will give you two good reasons why we should not trust anyone who uses black magic, One) to use black magic you have to surround yourself with death and darkness, why do you think he has that bone necklace on? And Two) Black Magic... is what... is what killed my father" Blaze said melancholy.

So Blaze's father died of black magic? I could see why Blaze would any animosity between this pony. However... Carrick had thought of Blaze as the second in command. If anything ever happen to him, he'd be the one to take command and try to finish this case. He was probably one of the strongest pony in the group and is intelligent enough to finish the case. In some ways, he consider him as a friend instead of just an ally. Still, out of all of this, Carrick isn't one to just kick somepony out just because he knew illegal magic.

 

"Blaze, I understand that you have some animosity for black magic. Black magic isn't exactly legal. However, he isn't the pony to blame for the death of your father. Regardless of what happened, we must not hate any pony by the spells they do, by the blood inside their veins, the fur on their back. We judge them back their actions and I haven't seen any reason that would tell me to kick this pony out."

Blaze started to get agitated again "Fine let him stay here but let me just tell you this one thing, black magic is a choice, it is not hereditary and most anypony can learn it. That being said, he chose the wrong path and should be held accountable. If I ever see him so much as sneeze and that sneeze is purposefully directed at one of the ponies in this group, I will not hesitate to incinerate him." Blaze was exaggerating of course but he wanted to make his point clear, he did not trust this pony and he certainly was not this pony's friend "And I am telling you now" Blaze pointed in Hypno's direction "Stay the hoof away from me." Blaze said as he exited the cabin, he flew off to a nearby cloud and rested upon it.

Quickly looked at the other ponies in the room. "I'm going back to the corner now," he said, mostly to himself.He then proceded to sitting in the corner again. I have a feeling that this process is going to be slower than a turtle on a hot day.

"Well, do you think we could get Blaze to calm down about this?" Starbolt asked Carrick knowing that he can probably convince Blaze.

'I hope this situation won't escalate into something big.' She thought.

Carrick adjusted his fedora, "It's possible. However, there will still be animosity between the pony. There are some things that can be changed in an instant...this isn't one of them. It's like changing the belief that Princess Celestia is not a peace loving pony, but instead a tyrant. It can't be changed without proper facts and a little soul searching" Carrick said.

Quick listened from the corner and wondered to himself, Is this rude? Am I eavesdropping or just waiting in the corner. And why are they taking so long with fancy words. Straight, simple words work much better!

It was cold and lonely up on the cloud, Blaze started to wonder if he overreacted, but he shook that thought. Black magic is evil and all who use it are evil Blaze thought. He closed his eyes and drifted off into his own thoughts.

Hypno just sat there silently as the whole ordeal unfolded. Afterward he calmly looked to Carrick "My name is Hypno, to answer your question" he said looking to him. Afterward he started to preen his wings, making sure he could fly straight and that nothing was wrong with them.

"My name is Carrick Murphy. I'm a detective on a certain investigation. Please excuse my friend, he has a problems with your style of magic." Carrick explained.

 

Carrick was a bit curious, "Hey, have you seen some hooded ponies around here in the mountains recently?"

From the cloud Blaze was on, there was something off into the distance. Smoke. Smoke rising from some trees. The smoke was most likely coming from a small camp off in the distance.

 

Hypno shook his head "N-no, i don't think so..." he said "Are you looking for them or something?"

"I think I better check on Blaze." She told Carrick.

She walked out of the cabin towards Blaze.

'I wonder if he is alright.' She thought worried that seeing black magic might send him into a depression.

"Alright, Starbolt." Carrick said as she left the cabin. Carrick turned his attention back to Hypno, "Well, we're trying to find a certain pony. She's been missing for some time now, we need to ask her questions." The detective replied to Hypno.

Starbolt saw Blaze sitting on a cloud.

"Hey Blaze are you alright? Maybe you could give this pony a chance. Maybe he is not that bad." She asked him, yelling a little so he could hear her.

'Hopefully Blaze won't be overly hostile towards Hypno.' She thought.

"Well, i don't think so." Hypno said thinking "No ponies have come by me for a while. And if they did i must of missed them." he said.

 

From Stars point the campfire off into the distance wasn't visible, but from the cloud it could be seen.

Blaze opened his eyes when Starbolt asked him if he was alright. "I am fine I just need some time-" Blaze stopped talking as he saw smoke off in the distance. "Star- I think there is a campfire off in that forest right there. Go get Carrick." Blaze said

Hypno closed his eyes again, trying to rest. He didn't know what to do next. He wasn't able to hear Blaze from outside. "Do you think they'll still be up here?" he asked Carrick.
