"As a vampire, you know I'll die first," he said, annoyed. He stepped outside and stretched, yawning. He realized he didn't have a hangover anymore, "Clocks... You didn't suck on me in my sleep did you?" He said it humorously, he didn't really care what the answer was.

"Nope, dat wasn't me, i'd guess you'd sleep it off then" Clocks said as he walked through the streets and towards the exit of the underwater city. He walked into the air lock and waited for Quickly next. He wondered where the group was at now. And if they were still safe.

"There's the gate," Quickly said, reluctantly looking back over the city, "How come whenever I have two or three, I feel like my head is going to split and my eyes will fall out?" he asks himself quietly, "And Blaze can have five or six? It just makes no sense to me."

"You're younger, that's my guess." Clocks said as the other part of the air lock opened and water flowed in. Clocks began to swim up to the surface as fast as he could. He was rather bored with nothing to do anymore now. He wondered if the group had something for him to do.

Quickly had barely enough time to put his bubble on his face. He followed Clocks reluctantly. "Will I ever come back?" He asked himself aloud. He watched the coral for a bit, then swam fast to catch up to Clocks. He looked a bit sad to be leaving, but he knew that they needed to be elsewhere.

Clocks finally reached the surface and looked around. He began to swim back to shore knowing Quickly would be close behind. He reached the sand and walked out of the water, shaking himself off as he did so. He waited for Quickly and yelled out "Alright, you'll have to lead the way now"

Carrick opened the door as he left behind the peace of the Treehouse. Out of everything that happened, exlcuding if only a incident from Daeva. In something she couldn't control, this place had been a safe haven. A place where if anything had happened, there were able to come back and rethink everything that had happened. Memories of first meeting up with only a few ponies and now came with a vast amount of ponies for what?

For the sake of the world, for the sake of the truth. The case that had become into something much bigger. Bigger than the Elements of Harmony, hell even the sake of the whole universe. Ice Star...wanted to become god. A request only a megalomaniac can think of. Just like every megalomaniac has hope, other follow them. Carrick wonders, he wonder how all of it can happen. The detective trotted onward. The peaceful sounds of Ponyville. The soft clip-clop of his hooves touching the grass was the only thing that registered into his primary auditory cortex. It was almost surreal on how quiet it was. As if Carrick was in the hallway before the final boss. It was...different.

Carrick wonder about what would happen after the case. Many ponies would probably part ways after all of this. The detective was sure that Blaze and Daeva would start living together or close by each other. They still were in that 'Young Love' he had spoke of before to Daeva. Carrick assumed that Quickly and Hypno would go off in there ways as well. Hypno might go with Snow, though. There was some connection...right? Carrick realized that he hadn't seen Snow since for a while. He wonder what happened to her. He hoped that bringing her with us would not have been for wrong.

Than a thought came into his mind, Starbolt. Everything was going on so fast, he never thought about what would happened after this. Would she moved with him to Manesdale? Would Carrick go to Canterlot? Would they even had this relationship after all of this? Carrick shook his head once more, Keep them in check, Carrick. Now's not the time to start thinking about other stuff. The case...the case.

They reached Fluttershy's cottage which is now officially close to the new Everfree Desert. Carrick was surprised not to realize how bad it had become. Any type of life that used to live here was destroy by Daeava's powers. All could be seen inside the vast forest was instead, dark sand. That's what it looks like, at least. The smell of death still reside through the desert. Even after weeks of leaving the forest, it still smell like this. The detective remembered from the situation when he told Daeva that all she was feeling was lust (even if that was miscommunication).

Carrick shook his head as he stepped on the sand, as it collected under his hoof. He looked around to see nothing that resemble a cave or a hole. This might be a while. He thought.

Hypno and his group followed Carrick and the rest. He looked at the desert with a grim looking grin. He wasn't entirely sure as to why they had gone here. But he was slightly glad they had gone to the desert. It had been a long time since he had seen sand again.

Starbolt and Fae followed Carrick as they went towards the direction of the Everfree forest. Starbolt had a feeling this was it, she knew their adventure will be ending soon. She had a new spell she saw in one of Twilight's books, she wondered if it would be of use. Her saddlebag had all sorts of potions Fae had brewed and several books.

Fae followed Starbolt. Starbolt told this would probably be the end of their adventure. Fae was ready, she had charged her magical energy the previous night. She was fully charged and is ready.

Sapphire followed with her spear in her hoof and her dagger in her sheath. She packed several bandages and an extra dagger in her saddlebag. She followed the group eagerly.

(OOC I'm assuming this would be ending soon.)

Quickly followed Clocks, nodding and taking the lead. He took of and angled towards Ponyville. He smiled as Den landed on his shoulder. The bird lovingly peck his scalp, scolding him for leaving it behind. He whistled and Den cawed, landing in his hair.

Clocks followed Quickly as he walked towards wherever he would take him. He decided to start a conversation. "Do you find i have a lotta enemies?" He asked Quickly with a chuckle. He noticed the bird land on Quickly's shoulder and looking at it with an interested face.

"I find that happens when you refuse friendships," Quickly replies, "Which reminds me; you need to find a way to repay Sea Reef. She's... To nice, especially after what you did to her. Not that it's any of my buisness. This is Den. I found him guarding my parents dead bodies."

"Well, I don't really. I only have one actually. These ponies and... goat... They are Hypno's, not mine. The only one I hate is a rival gang leader. As for Reefers, I'll put it on my to-do list..." He said with a shrug. He looked around the path they were walking alone every once in a while.

He walked on in silence for a bit, thinking that over. Eventually his thoughts turned, "Clocks, I think it's right, since you told me your story, I tell you mine."

"When I was a young foal, when most kids are learning 2+2=4, I was learning the best way to kill things. On days where we were out of class, my father used to teach me techniques from the family book. We're were very close. My family was very close, but my parents, they just started fighting. Eventually they did something unheard of in Nighthunter society; they got a divorce. About a week afterwords, my father got an assignment. It was very hush-hush, he was gone the next day. He didn't come back. Eventually my mother got an assignment; same thing. Then it was my turn."

"My assignment was to find a small pendant. Retreive it and come home; simple and easy. When I got there, an ancient fire elemental was guarding it. He was huge, as big as the cavern I was in. And behind him were two charred remains, holding eachother. I was able to identify them easily, not to hard when you leave the heads uncharred. I ended up shooting the elemental in his spirit-lock, unravling the soul keeping him together. I got the pendant, but couldn't resist exploring the cave. There was a signed hit-note with funds already paid. Two weeks after I returned home, I started another search mission; to find the tablet." He moaned and clutched his head, stumbling and falling.

I made my way to the ceremony platform. The Everfree was spacious today; nothing was rampaging or angry. It was a good sign to say the least; perhaps Celestia was smiling on them. The elder was speaking;

"... We designate Quickly Point to be leader of the first group, paired with Starbolt. This group will search the East, including the teritories of the Gryphons, and the Alicorn Sea. Remember the code, protect each other; a death under your squad is dishonor to your name..." and then I stopped listening again. To be leader of a group to find the tablet; it was a huge honor, but I was still young. This wasn't a pairing of skill, somepony had it in for me. I had no idea who, and at the moment, I didn't care; this quest was my dream since my grandfather told me of it. After he passed, my father and I had grinded down every detail. Being sent to the east was practically a death sentance for my dream; everypony knew most of the artifacts hadn't made it out of the west. However, it was dishonor to speak against an order. Starbolt, he said. From what I knew, she was a civilian spellcaster with high skills in casting, low skills in fighting. I sighed inwardly; atleast I had some magic. We were both handed a pack filled with suplies, and then basically tossed out of the Nighthunter camp.

"I knew Starbolt," he mumbled, eyes widening.

Blaze trotted along side Carrick. Apparently Daeva did not want to wake so, with a touch remorse, he kissed her goodbye and left with Carrick. Blaze looked over at Carrick and noticed he was deep in thought.

"So, I don't mean to pry but I noticed you are deep in thought. A bit for your thoughts." Blaze said curious as to why Carrick was now immersed in his own thoughts.

Carrick adjusted his attention to Blaze who had been alongside him for the walk to the Desert. Blaze noticed his Carrick deep into thought. The detective nodded at Blaze's offer. "Just thinking about what will happen to all of us after this. If we finished the case. What will happen to everypony after it all ends. Everypony has changed in the same way. So, I guess I'm theorizing."

Clocks listened to his story quite interested as he followed him still. He looked rather confused when he said that he knew Starbolt. "You know Starbolt?" He asked, unsure if he should be surprised or not.

"She was there... She was part of my team when we searched for the tablet. I thought she was dead! And Midnight-" his eyes widened, "He was there too. The tablet, it must have revived them somehow, than taken away their memories, just like me... Should we??? No, Starbolt is happy, I don't think I need to give her a sense that she cannot remember all that has happened to her..." He looked at his hooves.

"Well we should definitely at least stay in contact with each other. I have been contemplating the same thing lately. I assume that after this is over and we have saved Celestia and the Wielders of Harmony, we will be revered as heroes. My last name might finally be cleared of its negative history. I will assume that we are all coming back alive from this endeavor, so in that case, Deava and I will most likely move into a house in Canterlot together. I know you still believe that we are in the young love stage, and you would be right if this was any normal relationship. But you are forgetting one important factor. Hardships. The hardships we have all endured as a group has made us all grow closer together, but these hardships act as a catalyst for mine and Daeva's relationship. I mean who else can I go to and ask 'hey do you remember when we fought that crazy tiger swordsman that chopped you in half?' or 'remember that crazy train ride from hell that almost ended in our complete annihilation...'? The events that we have been through together have been the most difficult things that I have ever had to deal with in my life. Since we dealt with these hardships like we have, I have no doubt that we can deal with anything else that is thrown our way. That is what makes Deava and I so strong, that is what makes us invincible." Blaze said strongly.

As Blaze thought about the swordsman that attacked them he remembered his wounded wing. He attempted to stretch it out to no avail. His heard filled with sorrow at the loss of one of his abilities, maybe it just needs more time Blaze thought.

Carrick blinked at what he said. Though in a way, he was right. Something like that would strengthen a bond any type of ponies. All of us have been through so much. However, Carrick didn't agree with what he said. The bonds that have were created with adrenaline. Even when there is a time for rest that we had for those few days. They were few and far in between. Regardless of what he said, he did like Starbolt before Daeva started to come on to him randomly and than...poof, there in some type of love. The little things will start coming out eventually. They won't be with this type of situation for long. Things like marriage, who's has the pants in the relationship. Who stays at home or if they work together. So many things come into a relationship and to define that she's the one as of only a short time can only be...ignorant. For everypony knows, they'll end it in a week and become friends by the end of it. The future is endless, but not always in a good way.

The same could be said about Me and Starbolt as well. There is a lot of question between Me and...Starbolt. I know we'll have a long conversation about it. That's if we survive this encounter that is. Carrick didn't want to get into a argument with Blaze. This sounds like the territory for one. It feels like he wants to convince me that there love is true. He's barking up the wrong tree. Carrick thought, he continued to look around. The thoughts were swirling, but in the back of his head as the other part took a few glances around for something different in this grey desert.

"That's real intrestin' there, but also real baloney." He chuckled now at the thought of him knowing Midnight. "Do you know how crazy that sounds?" He asked as he walked. "Even if you were right, they would never believe you..." He explained as he stopped laughing.

"You don't believe me," he said with certaintity, "But I don't know another version of the truth. Do you know what this means? It means that the councle hates me for no reason other than I have a tendancy towards survival. Why do they hate my family so much?" He sighed.

"I don't know anything, or wan't to know anything, about your council. I'm not into that kinda organized stuff. Chaos is much more fun." Clocks said as he skipped for a few seconds as he trotted with Midnight. "If you like that council so much, that's your deal, not mine"

"I was hoping to convince you that I am serious about Daeva, but your silence says it all." Blaze said as his gaze drifted down to the ground. I suppose there is no real way to convince him that we will work out, but then again, why am I so anxious to prove myself to this pony? If I know what I am feeling is love then that is all that matters right? Blaze thought as his hooves sunk into the sand with each step. The heat coming off of the sand felt pleasant to Blaze, perhaps because he was used to the heat.

Quickly shook his head, "I do not like the council. They are corrupt, greedy; they'll do anything to stay in power. I get my missions, complete them, turn them in, done with the council. I don't owe them a penny, not in light of my returning memories. They'll be lucky to make the Eternal Night. That's the tree-house, right?"
