"Blaze. You can't change the past. All you were trying to do is to rush and get us. When we think like that...we don't consider those things...we don't consider the small details, when somepony is in danger."

 

"All we want to do is try to help us. Sometimes our emotions get in the way of seeing the whole picture..." Carrick got up. "I know I have before," Carrick smiled at him. He started to walk back to the cabin, "We still have some work to do. If you don't want to help, I understand. However, I need to do damage control." Carrick said as he walked away. Carrick's morals and emotions started to conflict yet again. Carrick felt the empathy for him, but Carrick's rational side thinks that Blaze was a blind idiot and should of check before he stepped into the cave. It was the best just to leave. He would of said something, he'd probably regret....

Blaze just stayed where he was wallowing in self pity. All of his memories of learning magic rushed back. When he'd wake up early and train with his father, when he would practice the pyronimicon after his father died, all of those college classes he aced. All of them lead up to this moment, and it failed him when he needed it most. These events lead up to absolutely nothing he did all of this for nothing. He wasted all of his time cramming magic knowledge to end up losing his ability to produce magic early on in his life. Blaze's depression increased.

Hypno looked at everypony, seeing they were seemingly about to leave. And i missed it. He thought with a sigh. He looked over to Starbolt and leaned close to her "What happened in here?" he whispered to her.

"Somepony ambushed us and took some important stuff." She said.

"Also Blaze lost his magic." She added whispering this time.

 

(OOC I would like to point out it's vial.)

Quick woke up and slowly rolled to his feet. Something was wrong, all or the magic around him was held in lazy sadness. He slowly looked around and saw the red aura the was Blaze. It looked like an out-of-control incinerator. "No," he whispers, "That son-of-a donkey! I'll hunt his sorry bucking behind if it's the last bucking thing I do."

"Well I feel useless, I guess I should spend less time exploring caves and more time protecting you guys." Thunder said to Blaze. "Well don't worry, from now on I'm on full gaurd mode all the time." He said with a salute.

Quick walked outside and began taking out his anger and frustraition on a tree. I'm gunna find that pony, *Punch* and when I do, *Punch* I'll cut his horn off, grind it down, and make him eat it. *Punch, Punch, Spin Kick* He's going down for what he did to Blaze. That pony is going down!

Carrick came back to the cabin inside. He saw Snow there, she stared at him. "Hey, Carrick."

 

"Hey, Snow." Carrick went in and walked into one of the bedroom. He took his notepad and started to read his notes. "Did you meet him?" Snow asked Carrick.

 

"Yes...I'm guessing that you knew." Carrick said, Snow nodded. Carrick felt the urge to punch her in the stomach, but he ignored it. He took away her magic, there would of been no way of taking it out of her without using a magic spell we couldn't use(since Blaze and Starbolt were drained of magic). Now, all we have is Starbolt as a conventional magic-user...

 

Carrick ignored Snow. He needed to find something...anything that would be able to find a clue. He started to read his notes once again....

Blaze got up from the place he was sitting and walked solemnly with his head down and his eyes half shut. He walked out of the cave and passed Quick. Blaze lifted off with his wings and flew, just flew. He had no idea where he was going, but he couldn't sit around anymore and flying had always been a vice, a a stress reliever for Blaze. He just flew as fast as he could in a random direction.

Hypno walked out of the cave, he was about to say something to Blaze, but he flew off. He trotted back to the cabin thinking about what had happened. After a few minuted he reached the cabin and entered inside.

Quick stopped when the tree fell, jumping back in surprise. "I was ticked. You know, I still am," he said to himself. We need clues. Into the cave I go. he thinks, stalking back in. He looks around on the rune-marked floor, "Come on big guy, where's the clue you left us?"

Hypno took a few steps in, then he stopped in his tracks. He felt bad for Blaze, so he decided to talk to him. He walked back out and took flight, flying after the Alicorn towards the last place he saw him flying.

Blaze kept dwelling on his failure, he closed his eyes in pain while flying, which is not the best of ideas. He did not see the top of a giant evergreen and flew straight into it. The top of the tree bent a bit forward before trebucheting him straight into the ground. Blaze did not even bother to get up he just laid there sprawled out.

Thunder saw quick go back in the cave and followed him. "I wouldn't come in here if I were you Quick," he said. "After all, we already know magic users are screwed." He continued as he looked deeper into his cave.

He saw where he had marred one of the runes. A few feet away he saw hoof marks. Big ones. A tuft of white fur was stuck in one of them. A quick sniff told him that this was the pony's fur. He began looking for other signs of the pony. "I don't use magic. And runes only work when they're charged with spells; Hence the reason I can see, hear, and smell. Nice armor," he adds, trying not to sound overly sad or angry.

Hypno continued to search around, looking for Blaze. After a few minutes hit smell was able to allow him to locate Blaze, on the ground. He flew down and landed softly. "Hey, you okay?" He asked him.

"Ok is such a relative term is it not?" Blaze said in a monotone "Sure I am ok, if you mean I am living and not immediately injured. But I am not ok" Blaze said. He just continued to stare up at the blue sky.

Hypno sighed "I understand" he said as he paused for a few seconds "Well, you are quite lucky compared to me... In fact, you're not just lucky, you got the three things i want, the three things i can't ever have now" He said.

"W-what?" Blaze did not understand what Hypno was talking about. Blaze's life had just pretty much come to an end, his inability to use magic meant that not only could he not complete his life's work, but he no longer had a special talent. How could Blaze be lucky?

"Love, mortality, and sanity" Hypno said as a response. "None of these things i can have again, every shred that made me, me, was ripped from my life long ago. Heck, i barely even look the same" he said "You have love from a mare, your mortality, and your mind is still quite intact. As for me, not so much"

Blaze considered this for a moment. While he did have those things and that was great and all, he still couldn't get over the loss of his abilities. His mind just would not let it go, it kept nagging at him, not letting him be grateful for what he had. "You are right I do have those things. But what I lost has been with me my whole life, he might as well of ripped my beating heart from my body and store it in a chest somewhere far away." Blaze replied.

"I can understand you like magic. But hey, maybe it can be fixed, unlike me. You have hope my burning Alicorn friend, i don't. Just, try to make the best of what you have for now, like i do. And i don't have much, the only thing i could name off is that Snow mare as a friend" He shrugged as he created a hammock between two trees and jumped in it.

Blaze knew Hypno was right, but his mouth would not let him admit it. Was it pride? No, it was the opposite, it was shame that prevented him from agreeing with hypno. It was more than losing his powers, when his friends needed him the most he failed to save them. This shame weighed heavily on Blaze's heart. Blaze closed his eyes and before he knew it he was asleep. As soon as he was asleep the amulet he wore on his neck started to glow. Blaze was sent into a induced dream state.

 

Blaze opened his eyes. He was standing in a completely white room. It extended for as far a the eye could see, and was as barren as the moon. He turned around and that is when he saw him. Behind Blaze, a colt in his mid thirties was standing, staring at Blaze with a mixture of love and disapproval. Blaze took in this colts features, from his red body and yellow mane to he familiar triangular leather hat he always wore was upon his head. There was no mistaking it, this was Blaze's father Pyro Phoenixtear.

 

"D-Dad?" Blaze asked

"Yeah, its me son" his father said in a warm tone.

"What is- how is this even possible? Am I dreaming?" Blaze asked

Pyro's facial expression changed to a serious one. "You are not dreaming son, well you are, but it is not as simple as that." Pyro said. "Before I died I charged my amulet with my MP wave signature. I knew that you would find the amulet eventually. I wanted to say goodbye but I was aware that I was going to die before I could see you face to face."

"I see- so... why did your MP signature decide to show itself now instead of when I first put on the amulet?" Blaze asked bewildered.

"I saw what happened, when you rushed in to save your friends. That was very brave of you." Pyro said with a smile, but the smile faded to disappointment "However, what followed was not as amusing" Pyro said.

Blaze looked down in sorrow. "I know, I lost my magic and may never get-" Pyro socked Blaze in the face.

"THAT IS NOT WHY I AM DISAPPOINTED IN YOU" Pyro yelled. Blaze was stunned, he just held his cheek where he was punched earlier in disbelief.

"YOU CALL YOURSELF A PHOENIXTEAR? YOU SACRAFICED SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAVE YOUR FRIENDS, AND THEN YOU JUST GIVE UP?" Pyro continued to yell. "YOU JUST AUTOMATICALLY FALL INTO DESPAIR, GIVING UP ON EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WORKED SO HARD TOWARDS?" Pyro paused for a bit to allow this to sink into Blaze's thoughts.

"But, I lost my magic, I have nothing." Blaze said.

Pyro sighed "Let me tell you something about life" Pyro said in a more calmed tone. "Life is a constant battle, whether you are a pirate or a scholar. Life is not fair to anyone. Life is going to kick you so hard that you fall to the ground, and then it is going to kick you again when you are down. But do you know what? Life is not about falling down. Falling down is not the thing that matters, its the getting up that counts. Because when you hit rock bottom, that is when a man truly proves himself." Pyro explained. Blaze let these words of wisdom penetrate his thick skull. "SO? Are you going to lie down on the ground and let life continue to kick you, while you are cowering like the little filly? Or are you going to get back up and punch life in the face?" Pyro asked.

"I- I am going to get up" Blaze said

"I am sorry?" Pyro said.

" I AM GOING TO GET UP AND BEAT THE BUCK OUT OF LIFE" Blaze announced

Pyro laughed a hearty laugh that Blaze knew all to well. "Well I think it is time for you to wake up. Oh and remember. Nothing in life is unobtainable if you try hard enough" Pyro said as the dream faded. Blaze bolted straight up, he was still on the ground, Hypno was still laying in his self-made hammock. Blaze had tears in his eyes and the biggest grin on his face.

(We're trying to put new parts in the computer and it's not working. So i'm using my TV)

 

"Wakey wakey, sunshine" Hypno said noticing Blaze got up. "What got you all happy?" He asked him. Maybe he had a good dream... Hypno thought as he looked at Blaze as he started at him with his grin.

Quickly, however, was still very, very hacked off. Worthless. He made me worthless, and he got what he came for. And then he did something I find truly unexceptable; He hurt a friend. That a-hole is going down.Something in the back of his mind was telling him that this could be fixed, but he didn't want to hear it. "So you're white, you're big, and you're strong. Now you big dumb oaf, WHERE ARE YOU!" he yells, punching a wall. A few tears come out, but he doesn't care much.
