-Keep in mind, Kirby, that RP was one way between me and the best approximation of Fluttershy I could make. A) The real thing would be terrified of me, ponified or no. B ) I doubt a more serious RP would've been as fun to read. (Admittedly, I could have taken that all the way to bedroom , but I decided against it for obvious reasons.)

-As I've said, I'm writing my first fanfiction and there is romance in it. It's admittedly a self-insert, so while it pains me to say so, the character I fall for is an OC and not Fluttershy. Getting involved with the Mane Six personally is something everypony has done, and it wouldn't make sense for the setting I'm using. It would also complicate matters with how she was connected to the Element of Kindness. All in all, it's like if I shipped myself with one of the Greek gods. Suddenly my cosmic significance jumps up so high it breaks the willing suspension of disbelief. And believe you, me! If this is going to turn out as at least "meh" as opposed to "WTF is this SHIT?!" Making it believable is the only thing that's going to save me.

 

-Lastly, I was actually thinking of starting my own YouTube show in which I gave my thoughts and praise on the Brony movement.

 

Not including shipping, I suppose?

 

 

 

I love that dress. IMO the best Gala dress...though I might be a tad biased. Still, I love what they did with her mane.

Oh totally agreed. They all looked fantastic! But if you wanted to see what "Twilight Dash" (because that sounds WAY more badass than "Rainbow Sparkle") would look like . . . .

 

Probably a super charged alicorn with all of Dash's speed and courage and all Twi's magic and knowledge. They might fly around the planet several times for science . . . . AWESOME SCIENCE!

-Nothing necessarily WRONG with OC X Canon ships. It just sometimes the character is compromised to justify the romance. To use a common example, many writers pair themselves with Draco Malfoy. Draco was raised with and indoctrinated with the ideology of blood purity, yet this one muggle-born girl (enter the writer) gets him to question and then outright defy the belief drilled into him since birth? Not that believable (not outright impossible just difficult to write.) As said, delusion is what makes romance possible. Too many only see Draco as this tortured, angsty, sensitive soul with an abusive upbringing. Partially true, but that's still not the whole character. He's also petty, elitist, cruel, and a coward. Pairing yourself with Pinkie is fine as long as she remains the energetic, singing, pink baker of love we all adore. Really, why would you change the character you wish to be with? Bronies actually have it better in this situation than most. The previously mentioned authors are (by and large) teenage girls. While Harry is the more like able and heroic character we guys would like to be. The girls are dying for a dramatic "bad boy" *sigh* How I grow tired of this female fascination with abuse! Anyway, we bronies are (again, by and large) mature adults with a considerable margin being male. We know these well constructed characters and we know ourselves fairly well. We can just put the virtues and the flaws together, build a narrative around, and BOOM goes the dynamite you've got yourself a workable romance.

 

-"Find me a real Fluttershy huh?" I appreciate the sentiment but I'm not holding my breath. I doubt you could find said candidate. What woman would actually want to enact a romantic fantasy with one such as me? I ask you.

Not necessaryly, people tend to Adapt and change to new settings. Love is something that changes a lot of people. If the show could ever show it, than pinkie's would change to some degree, although it'll probably still much the same at base. I changed ALOT for me and Pinkie just to be compatible. She loves to play around and hang with friends which she too many for me to Remember! Her personality is based around her friends. Pinkanema is a clear sign of this. She fun loving and has clearly displayed emotions. She very random in her comedic efforts to get her friends to smile. She's very friend oriented. 

 

I know this isn't all about her but I didn't want to take up a whole page on how amazing she is.

She also focuses her artistic lens quite a bit on Rarijack, which is the only pairing that really stands out for me!
