Considering the whole line-up hasn't been shown yet there's still the possibility, especially for a big series like Kingdom Hearts, that a character or two are in there. If KH was in, Sora would be the character to represent it for sure but I wish Riku would be as well. (Riku > Sora in like...every way. )

I'm not too excited about the game, but that's completely because of the character line-up. From the day this game was announced, I was hoping for Kingdom Hearts and/or Monster hunter to be thrown in the mix, simply because those games are really big titles. I know both could be considered "obscure" in the Sony line-up, but it's mostly those games that caused me to buy some of the Playstation platforms.

 

I will buy the game regardless, just to see how it plays, but I can't say I'll be eager to play it.

 

It's a first party developer and game, how can you expect third party character inclusion at such an early moment as its annoucnement? I'm not surprised at all the first inclusion of a third party character at E3, the game is still in development, and they can really reveal any charcater at any time. Thete's still a ton to be said about the game, the release is in a few months, and anything can happen.

 

And don't exactly expect info to be revealed too fast, and I wouldn't be surprised if they leave out some anticipated characters, because they can only put so much content into one game.

 

Besides, it's more about the gameplay than the characters themeselves.

So Jak and Daxter were added... And they completely copied Yoshi's final smash lol.. Attack speed and the speed they fly around at... everything. Only difference it seems is that they can speed up forward for an instant

I've got mixed feelings about this game. On one hand, this is a pretty major thing for fans of classic Playstation franchises and PS3-exclusive hits, and it's a really interesting mirror to Super Smash Bros. Not only that, but it's breaking a few barriers that Nintendo hasn't yet, like incorporating characters from rated M games (although I seriously doubt we'll be seeing much of the factors that made those games rated M).

 

On the other hand, it does seem a little thrown together, especially in terms of some of these character choices the developers are making. The classic Playstation characters are completely understandable, and I hope to see more of them, like maybe Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, but some of these characters just seem so out of place in a mashup like this. Nintendo was deffinitely more astute when putting characters together, although the range of the characters in Playstation All-Stars might just prove to be a saving grace, even if only for the fact that I REALLY want to see Cole fight Kratos....

Although, that does give me a few ideas for costume variants that I'd like to see. For instance:

 

Cole McGrath's good and evil path costumes, or maybe Kessler's hooded coat.

 

Heihachi Mishima's canon outfits from Tekken 6.

 

The different types of Big Daddy armor (Alpha series, Bouncer, Rumbler, etc.)

 

Jak's darker form from Jak 2

I have to say that i'm a little disappointed about this game, but I will not judge it until I got it in my hand, I'll give a try because SSB is my favorite game of all time, so hope this is one is as fun and competitive as Smash is.

Everything i've read from people who have played it has been really positive.

So long as you can get over the initial "It looks to much like SSBB".

 

Sure the influence is definetly there.

But Nintendo doesn't own a copyright over, 4 mascots duke it out.

Another game that was similar to this was Onimusha Blade Warriors.

 

Also the inclusion of 3rd party characters, I think will really be great for this game.

Since that is definetly something SSB always lacked, I'm not the biggest Nintendo fan in the world so I never could attach myself to any of the characters until Snake was included.

 

Here it's nice to see all the angles covered from E rated games to M rated games, meaning there's a larger demographic who can get the characters they like.

I think, along with general demographic variability, they also wanted to include time period variability, as well.

That's what I was thinking.

Since there doing a lot of talk that characters that played a role in Sony's history would be likely choices.

So we could even see Crash and Spyro, not females but still some people I know here would like that,

Seriously glad this is coming to the PS Vita, I'm gonna get the gaming combo to acquire both titles. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned at the top it's being released THIS YEAR at October 23.

 

This forum needs to get a collective group that would play this game, collect their gamer tags and open it up to friends listing to play some awesome gaming brawler action! All that would be needed is a universal chat group to go along and we're set. The only other game I'm actually interested in other than this is RE6 coming out the same month. Halloween's gonna ROCK!!!!

Yeah. How about some Heavy Rain characters? I'm also sure we'll see Sackboy in there.

 

HR? Yeah, I guess, maybe. But I don't think they want to put too many normal humans with only guns and melee attacks. I think Drake will just have to do for now.

 

As for Sackboy, I doubt they'll leave him out. It's inevitable, he's cute, he's the mascot of an epic franchise, and he just begs for pallette swaps when you look at him!

 

 

 

I think his alternate (or "special") attacks would be the weapons/special items in the LBP games, like the jetpack or the paint blaster. And maybe his finishing move can be something related to the LBP level creator.

I think any fighting game like nowadays that would be incomplete without a campaign mode.

 

If it was that epic in Brawl, I can't wait to see what they can do with these characters.

From what was put out.

Each charcater has their own story and a rival to boot.

So from the sound of it, I would compare it more so to SF4.

 

However the depth of each characters SP mode is yet to be shown.

I want to see the Souls series cover protagonist (the guy on the cover in elite set), and want to see that thing from Katamari, I want to see Cecil, I want to see Feld0, I want to see Snake, I want to see Raiden, I want to see a Helghast, I want to see a chimera, I want to see money, I want to see it at thirty dollars, I don't want to see move essential, I want to see the castle crashers (I know they aren't original sony ip, but wouldn't it be awesome?) I want to see Masura and Akio as final bosses, tag teaming you! They are the founders. It would only make sense, eh?

The game looks like a decent-enough mashup effort, but my main concern is probably the gameplay. Nintendo couldn't go wrong with Super Smash Bros. because all the characters included in the series come from games with cartoonish or over-the-top outrageousness, which made it easy for tthem to mesh together in a fighting mechanic that seemed to compliment them well. Playstation All-Stars is another story. You've got characters from gritty worlds and realistic action backgrounds, like Kratos, Heihachi, Cole and Nathan Drake, and then you've got the cartoonish characters that don't seem too suited to realism, like PaRappa, Toro, Kuro and Fat Princess. It just makes me wonder whether or not this combination will be able to play out smoothly in a fighting mechanic that doesn't look....forced.
