Absolutely not, everypony's equal here, plus the mods are all nice. :)

Then again, I am only 2 away from the highest rank, so I really have no reason to be intimidated by anyone... :P

I'm not intimidated by the badges one bit. I know as I keep posting, I keep ranking up. The ONLY badges that DO intimidate me is the Mod's and Feld0's badge.

People were scared of me.

So much wut is going through my mind.

HOW IS CRONA SCARY? WHAT HAS CRONA DONE TO MAKE YOU SCARED OF HIM? D:

How can someone be afraid of Crona?

I'm neutral for muffin through parasprite. Butterfly through phoenix I'm like "Cool!". I'm envious of the ponies, pegasi, and unicorns.

I don't find the royal guards all too intimidating. But the alicorns do daunt me a bit.

What about bronies?

Where do we stand on this list.

WE DON'T EXIST TO YOU, IS THAT IT?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :C

Whoops, sorry. I was just thinking of the species of ponies for that one and forgot to add brony. Don't worry, they're included, haha!

All ye who enter here, look upon me and my brony badge and tremble in fear. Especially you. Yeah you know who you are. I'm not even going to say who you are because you know who you are Tom the Diamond.

Dammit.

I was the first person to get a brony badge.

So if you shall fear anyone, fear this badass motherfucker, Crona the goddamn Critic.

All you hipster badge crazies are driving me nuts! (And not in a legume sort of way neither. Or that joke with the pirate and a ship's wheel mounted on his groin.)

Whoooo, OH MY GAWD IT'S A GLOBAL MOD ROYAL GUARD BADGE SCARY SCARY SHE BAN ME

:)

Okay, I'm done fooling around. When I first joined, I was a tiny bit intimidated of the big wigs. But not really so much. The only people who scared me were Zoop (and he LOOKS scary in real life too, dammit! One look at his picture, you think he's going to punch you in the face!) and Feld0 since they were the modly peoples when I joined. Never saw much of that Kurtiss guy. Feld0 still scares me a little. ^^; Though Zoop? Yeah, he scares me too. But only when he sings. Man, that stuff is horrible!

Otherwise, I'm not really intimidated by people with higher post count badges. Maybe a tiny bit jealous because they have less of a life than I do, and that's really something I love to prove that I don't have. Though not intimidated. But that's because I AM A MOD AND I HAVE THE POWER BOW DOWN TO ME.

...All right no, really. Being scared of me is like being scared of a little puppy. I'm just a super tiny 5'2" girl behind a computer screen with a fancy Nicomade badge under my cute pony avatar. Why would that frighten you? I guess psychology, people are frightened by status.

I was intimidated initially, but then I realized I was better than them all the community was very nice to me. So now I only fear Feld0 nothing!

Also at above: I did not know you were 5'2". The more you know.

Being the owner of a site tends to have that effect on people for some reason.

It does, doesn't it? Human psychology I guess. For me personally, mods and admins scare the HAY out of me. I guess it's because I'm afraid of getting banned and being sent TO THE MOOOON!!! You see I like everything to be just right. I don't like to get bad grades or get a bad reputation. So when it comes to mods and admins, this is what I think:

Mod and admins= BAN! I HAVE to act perfect

BAN!= I'm not good enough to be on this site. :(

Having to act perfect= I don't get banned at all! Yay!

You see what goes on my mind now. but no matter how much I try to get rid of this nasty habit, my fear usually takes over. Stupid flaw of mine..

We all have our fears. It's how we deal with those fears that is important. I have a fear of failure, but I use that fear to be better and succeed.

I understand that we have to use our fears to advance on. But sometimes it could be quiet hard. Espicially in this situation.

When I saw this thread's title, I thought somebody was asking about cops. :lol:

Also, no. I don't even know what order half the badges are in.

This is possibly the only forum I know that right now has a tight blend of Moderators and Users that can actually just talk to one another and not be blocked or banned if a User says something a Moderator doesn't like.

I'm glad that it's not very intimidating in that sense. I've been traveling other forums just to see what they can do and it's either extremely bland in how they appear, don't really put out much in whatever they are about or their Users/Moderators are people you want to avoid.

The only other forum that is somewhat similar is the Minecraft forum and even then it's extremely garbled up and from what I've seen not a lot of people actually know one another, they just drop by and leave after posting something.

Nah. I've never been intimidated, and I don't really see it being possible.. But apparently it is.

They look cool, sure. But as long as the other members don't say "Oh, she's only a muffin rank he opinion doesn't matter."... Well even if they said that I'd probably be offended if anything.

On one hoof, yes, I am petrified of some ranks. For example:

Alicorn = Power.

Feld0 = Alicorn = Power.

Which would lead me to fear Feld0, should I not see any glimpse of the not-completely-business side (which, admittedly, I have only seen in Feld0 Memes). Logic.

On the other hoof, seeing those high-ranking badges could inspire me to be like the great people behind them, and give quality posts regularly until I reach my goal. Also logic.

Sorry Pinkie.

Also, I suppose my ever-lurking fear could be caused by a horrible experience in which the moderators restricted us so much we could only rhyme about our misery--they wouldn't let us say it directly--and make role-plays about it. The most common modweapon in all of these role-plays? The Almighty Banhammer. Now, I'd like to say I've left this life behind, but I'm experiencing major withdrawal symptoms and may run back to the mods begging for mercy for my deserting them. I've been there since before my childhood ended...it's a special place for me. I felt so many feels, made so many friends, gave out so many brownies... Ah, I miss RES dearly. It hurts me now to think of it. Poetry time, I guess.

The mods dont scare me on these forums. The mods are very friendly and cooperative, so I dont feel the need to be intimidated. On other forums though I feel like the mods can be over sensitive and a bit mean... ;-;

"A man who fears nothing values nothing either."

Original quote from yours truly, a conclusion I came to during some previous thinking. For example, if a person feared death, then we can say that the person values life.

I don't see much to be intimidated by in these badges (OHMYGAWD, bunnies, Parasprites and Unicorns! Lock your doors!). I think they're a pretty decent way to display how active you are around the forums, minus forum games and the like. Plus, if you're goal-oriented, a shiny new badge gives you something to aspire to, and by extension, a reason to join in on more topics and discussions. When you think about it that way, the badges are just another way some of us might become a little more social around here.

I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion....

I think badges give the site a nice small-town vibe, and when someone new registers, I believe it rather gives them a desire to post more to then progress through the ranks.
