So now that I am closing in into the final few days of development I thought why not share it with the users for feedback and suggestions!

 

It is only compatible with Chrome.

 

Right now the features include:

 

Notifications while being on other websites!

You get a nifty little button, which you can click to see your 10 latest notifications.

MLPForums Theme Swapper! Or shorthanded the MLPFTS.

 

The MLPFTS allows you to choose a banner to your liking, perhaps Rarity just is not your cup of tea and you prefer Twilight? No problem, you can just switch them out and continue looking into her so very sexy eyes...

It's as easy as going to the options panel and choose your theme:

You just select it, and ta-da! The theme is automatically applied for you. ( This is local, so only you will see it like this. )

But isn't there already an extension for the forums?

 

There sure is! And I even wrote it, but I just felt a bad programmer leaving it like it is... ( Bad code gives me nightmares. )

So I decided to re-write it! It is a bit more complex now, but it is easier to work with, and has more features. ( You can for example now click on the links in the notification instead of being just directed to the last link. )

 

 

Status: Released!

I will continue updating it and I got these things in consideration:

 

-Ajaxify the report button

-Automatically brohoof all my posts.

-Default style when posting.

-Quick Reference to threads? ( You could bookmark them though? )

Yay! I have the old version, and I must say, I enjoy it a lot. This looks like it's going to be awesome!

Maybe you could add some sort of "thread watch" feature, so you can have a quick link to a thread through the extension? What I'm trying to say is that I want to be able to access the Metal Thread through the extension. :P

But if not threads, then sections

That sounds like a good idea! So a way to "favorite" a thread so you can quickly check it out?

I am very excited for this, I used the old one before and I am eagerly awaiting for this one! Though my only complaint with it was that the notifications button on the Chrome would make it so that the one on the forums never displayed any. So it was a bit confusing to me, especially when you had over 10 notifications. Does this one still show notifications on the forums as well as on Chrome, until you've checked them at least, or have some option to enable or disable on-forum notification notices?

That is sadly something I cannot control :/

 

Right now I am fetching the exact same thing as the 'notifications' button does. I can hide the button though if you prefer that.

Y'know how the banner's currently changes every weekend... that's what I mean. ^^

 

Yeah? Well, if you override the banner it won't change for you. But you can just as easily switch back.

Yes, but I mean, in the picture you show 5 examples. Will they change every weekend, or is it only the default banner there's going to change ? Edited by ProjectRKA

Ooh, no those are the themes you can choose from! They are dynamic, and reload every time you either ask it to or when you start chrome. It's a list of any user submitted theme I got. ( Just not complete yet. )

 

The "Default" one is the one you can choose so there is no customization.

Your screenshots are looking good! I look forward to trying it out! I would say the main 2 features I look forward to are the theme switcher, and notifications.

This is awesome! I just got it for Chrome and now I can use my Twilight or Pinkie banner! :)

 

Too bad I still like Firefox more.. So I guess I'll just see my banner when I am bored and uses chrome for some random reason..

 

(I mean the addons and themes for Firefox are unbeatable..)

I only experienced something similarly when I had a lot of applications open. The parsing of the webpage slowed down chrome, and thus it showed the default banner before my extension replaced it.

 

But if you mean that it completely sets the setting back to Default so that even if you wait for everything to load then that is a bug.

 

If that is the case can you tell me what you did? Did you restart the browser? Did you reload the application?

It seems to revert every time I play a game. (LoL, DotA 2, Borderlands, Dead Island ect.)

Not sure yet for other causes will check for more.

EDIT: It also resets each time I restart Chrome.

That kinda happened to me. Overnight, the one I chose went back to the Scootaloo one.

okay, I believe I know why it does thatm but I will have to check it out once I can. Which is... in two weeks. Sorry guys, but I am currently 1200km away from my working station and the source code. ( And on freaking IE 8... )
