My favorite Sonic games are SA1 and SA2, both on the Dreamcast. I loved these two games for nostalgic reasons, made me feel like a kid again.

I prefer the classics like Sonic and Knuckles and stuff. THOSE were amazing.

Sonic Colors was the most fun I've ever had with a Sonic game.

It's hard to pick buts its probably a tie between SA2 and Sonic Generations. They're both so fun to speedrun.

I'm a gigantic Sonic fan, I'm a fan of most aspects of the series and fandom. This is a topic for me.

 

My favorites tend to fluctuate, as with anything else I try to pick favorites for.

Shadow the Hedgehog

Sonic Adventure

Sonic Adventure 2

Sonic Heroes

 

The list goes on, I don't think I could ever truly pick a favorite. lol

 

Every Sonic game is an awesome game to me, 06 and Chronicles included.

 

Although I can say one thing: Without a doubt Sonic and the Black Knight has the best soundtrack in the entire series. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can beat that soundtrack for me in the Sonic series. It's also one of my favorite soundtracks of all time.

My favorite sonic was Sonic CD because the level design was great and the bosses felt like they had meaning. Also the sound track was great.

I also like sonic the fighters and Sonic Adventure 2

I always felt Sonic CD's level design was far too convoluted for it's own good, though the Metal Sonic race is arguably one of the best bosses in the classics.

And I speak of this as a long-time fan of the series, been following it since its inception in 1991.

 

Three reasons why I love this game are the following:

 

1. It's near-universal great gameplay (with Tails being the weakest). Very solid. Full of adrenaline, excitement, and wonder. Great speed to keep the pace, with some other alternatives such as Big's fishing and the Adventure Fields to slow it down.

 

2. Great story during its time. Of course, with the higher expectations nowadays, Sonic Adventure's voice acting is weaker. But the script itself is rather solid and still holds up today. Great characterization of the cast, especially Amy, Gamma, and Chaos.

 

3. Its nostalgia. Prior to Adventure, I was losing interest in Sonic. Then I saw a preview of Adventure on the front screen of a nearby GameStop, and I just had to get it. I wound up picking up the game as well as the Dreamcast on launch day, and I've loved Sonic Adventure ever since. If it weren't for Adventure, I wouldn't be following the Sonic series by now.

 

Yeah, that game was the start of all the crappy games that came out after it. I think all they need to do to make the 3d sonic games fun again is continue with Sonic Adventure 3

 

No, they don't need to make a Sonic Adventure 3, because it's nothing more than a name. Sonic Next-Gen follows Sonic Adventure's gameplay structure and could've easily been called Sonic Adventure 3, but it wasn't to attract more buyers. Over the past few years, quality Sonic games have improved exponentially since Sonic Next-Gen. Unleashed HD is a good game despite its pace issues. Sonic 4: Episode 1 is popular amongst the mainstream despite its issues with inertia, with Sonic Colors Wii implementing more platforming and exploration into the Daytime formula. Finally, Sonic Generations HD has captured the hearts of both Classic and Modern fans with a great balance of speed, platforming, and exploration in both the Classic and Modern stages.

I like so many, but I would also agree SA2 was the best with SA following right behind it. Then going by favorite, Sonic Generations, Sonic Heros, Sonic the hedgehog 2, and Sonic CD. The rest were good, but I thought these were the best.

If we're talking about the Genesis/Saturn Age, then I'd definitely go with Sonic CD. I truly think it's the best retro video game ever conceived. With TWO unbelievable regional soundtracks and a time travel system that's really a neat concept (and not to mention the race against Metal Sonic), it's a prime example of great gaming design. I recommend it for anybody, even Sonic haters.

 

If we're talking about the Dreamcast Age, then I would go with Sonic Adventure 2. It was a truly memorable game with great level designs and a story that was actually pretty well thought out. Voice actors were especially great lol.

I've actually only ever played one Sonic game and that was Sonic Generations on the Gamecube. So yeah that is my forced favourite. I'm not complaining though. I had a lot of fun playing that game.

Sonic Generations was for the 360, PS3, and 3DS. You're going waaaaaay back.

 

I haven't played Generations yet simply because I just don't like Sonic 3D games anymore.

Well I played one on the Gamecube I remember that. I don't remember what it's called. Sonic Gems maybe? Something like that. The point is I had a bunch of fun playing.

either it was Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Gems Collection for you. My favorite Sonic game aside from SA2 was Sonic Colors. The way Sonic behaved in that game reminded me of Sonic SATAM and the controls were just right with SOME occasional camera problems. Also, Eggman was the FINAL boss in the game, which hasn't happened since 10 years ago.

For me it has to be a tie between Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic Colors, Sonic and Knuckles is the best of the old school and Sonic Colors is the best of the newer Sonic games.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It was Tails' debut and the source of my username. Tails could do a lot more in Sonic 3, like hovering in the air and swimming, but that game was so damn hard I only made it a few levels in.

 

I also like Sonic Adventure. I still have it on Dreamcast, with about 30 other games.
