The same goes for this scenario. one doesent need to be in their right mind in order to carry out an act of violence.

Whats worse is that the target can be unsuspecting.......like a brony convention.

It is highly unlikely that it would happen, I mean yeah sure it could happen, you could also get electrocuted by your games console if lightning strikes your house right. I'm sure there are safety procedures that would lower the risk of that happening. Especially considering at most of them there are voice actors and other famous faces and voices, I'm pretty sure the security would be kind of high.

 

I mean perhaps brony haters are dangerous sometimes, I have no idea why. But they can be. I doubt they would be crazy or stupid enough to go through all the trouble of finding out where the next bronycon is, infiltrating past all the security just to shoot some people who like ponies.

 

It's just unnecessary worrying. In my opinion of course.

Anypony who knows me knows for sure that I am most definitely aware of the evils in this world, that we certainly live in a corrupt and fallen world. But that doesn't mean that I have to have a grim outlook on life! I'm not going to walk around looking over my shoulder 24/7 in constant fear that something terrible is going to happen everywhere I go; instead, I'm going to try to live my life to the best of my abilities, to use my God-given talents as best as I can to the benefit of my family, my community, and myself, continue to remain faithful to my Lord, and enjoy life as best as I can!

Someone told me that one year at Anthrocon someone backed a fursuiter into the wall, tore his head off, banged his head into a brick wall and beat him up.

As I see it this is one of those things we simply cannot prevent at this time in history, though I agree that it would be bad.

 

Something people need to understand is that humans as a species is pretty darn violent and you only need to look at our history to confirm this. And some people have mental or emotional issues that will make them direct said anger at a specific thing, like Bronies or Treekies or anything they percieve as wrong.

 

However, we also have people who think that their ideas are worth killing for and some of these might think that we bronies are a result of the homosexuals "taking over the world" or some other misleaded idea like that.

 

And you have the people who go "I want to kill people and here I see a poster/add for a gathering of large amounts of people that will happen in a few days whcih will allow me to get a really powerful gun".

 

At the end of the day humans are a violent bunch and we seem to like killing each other. Of course, I am glad I live in the least violent times in human history, I don't want to go to war for some king who doesn't care about anything but his own power.

I think you misunderstand the word "least". I did not say we are not violent anymore, I am saying that we are less violent now than we used to be. However, because of media we are more aware of the violence today so to us it can seem that we are more violent.

I would disagree and that is because of something a scientist called Howard Bloom calls the "Miracle of peace"(I am not sure if he came up with the term or not, but that is irrelevant) when people in the west is no longer nearly as violent as we used to be. There is an entire part of the human collective civilization that no longer engage in full scale wars(and no, the military involvement by the US in many countries are not full scale wars), things like the Inquisition and the petty waging of power within a nation. These things used to be commonplace here and large precentages of the people used to die from it, but now they are largely gone from the west.

 

We are still a messed up species, but to deny that we have managed to become less violent is ignoring facts.

Sounds a little bit like South Park to me for some strange reason, but that's just me. That's a crazy story though. I didn't get that much of a negative response when I told a couple people. One of them isn't a fan of bronies but I've known him for a long time so he's fine with it. My other friend didn't give me a response at all, oh well.

wow I can already feel the darkness in this thread. Look anything is possible but for people to go far just because they hate a fandom is pretty far fetched as it hasn't happened. Your worrying over nothing, I mean did anything bad happen at this year's BroNYcon? No...well other than the fire nation attacking. However to go as far as someone going to a convention just to shoot up a fandom doesn't seem likely.

 

Now your going to use either the Colorado shooting or Columbine or any of the other shootings that have been happening these past 2 months. Columbine was caused because the two students who shot up the place were bullied and picked on. The Colorado shooting was about a man who labeled himself as "The Joker" and decided to shoot up the place. Why? More than likely the man had some deep seeded personal issues but none of them probably had anything to do with being against the Batman series. If anything he might have actually thought that he was, "The Joker" cause he probably could relate to his personality in the comics/movies. In the end they let their darkness consume them than using that darkness to try and turn it into something positive and better.

 

Now haters just basically do what they do which is hate but to take it to such extremes such as shooting people up because you hate a fandom is not only stupid, a waste of time and dangerous but also proves that you clearly need to seek some professional help and learn that there are worse things out there than a fandom such as War, Poverty, Slavery, etc. Now i'm sure most haters are aware of this but unlike bronies who actually participate in charitable events and give back. They simply shrug it off and continue to go on with life as if nothing is wrong.
