Which of the Mane 6 do you think has the least/most backstory?

Honestly, I think Rainbow Dash has the least back story so far; I would say Fluttershy has about as much as she does, but we at least know how Fluttershy came to Ponyville in the first place. I cannot say the same for Rainbow Dash, although I guess in regards to how they came to Ponyville, I guess we don't know how Pinkie did either, but she's an Earth pony, so it's not quite as hard to imagine how she got there.

 

As for who has the most back story, I had to go with Twilight on that one, although Applejack's a close second, considering we know so much about her family's past at this point in the show.

Fluttershy's backstory is the least in my opinion and she seems to be losing more and more parts in the show. What I mean is that I think she's slightly being pulled out into a background character.

 

Fluttershy has had plenty of episodes featuring her and good ones. I think that given her popularity you have nothing to fear. With regards to this if anyone has a right to complain about their favorite character not being prominent it's the Applejack fans

I think Season 3 and beyond should stop developing Twi's backstory and focus on the other's backstories, because I think her backstory is already developed enough as is....

Applejack, i mean come on, the only thing that they have said about her it's that she lives in an apple farm... but at least we know her parents were alive by the time she got her cutie mark

Well, I'm going with Fluttershy. We know little to nothing about her backstory. Oh right, except this:

 

 

 

And Hurricane Fluttershy. Let's see... Twilight has obviously the most. That goes without saying. I'm really not sure about the others, though. I can however say that Rainbow Dash was expelled from flight schools, apparently. I guess that counts as something. Rarity made costumes for school plays. Applejack left the farm in exchange for the city life... Pinkie Pie harvested rocks. Yup. Makes sense. :I

Applejack definitely has the least amount of backstory... Then Twilight comes in first with the most backstory... Applejack needs more...

But Applejack lives with her family. Plus with the family reunions and stuff, we know quite a bit about her.

 

I'd say Fluttershy really has nothing for background info, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash don't have much, either, but whatever.

Twilight has to have the most backstory, and I think Fluttershy's backstory is pretty empty when it comes to plot. Pretty much, in my opinion.

Twilight has the most backstory, but that's because she is, without a doubt, the show's "main" character. It centers around her, although her friends are also very important. They've made episodes which don't include Twilight at all, and also some where she plays a minor role, but the main, plot-advancing stories focus on her. Think about it: S1 E1+E2 (Twilight is tasked with meeting friends and stopping Nightmare Moon), S2 E1+E2 (Twilight's friends turn against her, and it's up to her to fix them and stop Discord), S2 E25+E26 (Twilight is the only one who notices that Cadence isn't right, and ends up having to save her brother when no one believes her), S3 E1+E2 (Twilight is tasked with saving the Crystal Empire).

 

In all of these cases, Twilight is the "main" character. Her friends are there for support, but the plot centers around her.

 

As for who has the least... I'd say it's a tie between Rainbow and Fluttershy. We've seen Rarity's parents and can infer that she grew up and opened her own boutique. As for Applejack, we know that her parents died when she was young, and she took on the responsibilities of farm work. For Pinkie, we know that her parents owned a rock farm, which she worked on every day in joyless glum until the events depicted in the Cutie Mark Chronicles. As for Fluttershy and Rainbow, all we know is that they went to flight school, and that they both got their cutie marks as a result of an incident there. We've seen Rainbow's father once, but there's never been any mention of Fluttershy's family. As such, my vote went for her.

Least: Toss-up between Rainbow and Flutters, but since GPP gave Rainbow a slight edge, I'll give it to Fluttershy

If you go for "time", I think Fluttershy has the most, because she is the oldest, I suppose.

 

Headcanon, they have of course someway the same amount of backstory.

 

Am I the only one wo thinks it is difficult to deal with the terms 'least' and 'most' if it comes to backstories?

Twilight has the most backstory by far. Her parents, Shining Armor and Cadance, Spike, Princess Celestia, endlessly studying magic... we know what Twilight's filly life was like pretty well.

 

I would say Fluttershy has the least backstory. She has no known family members at all for one thing. And while we know she had some awkward phases and was picked on in Cloudsdale, that's pretty much it.

Thats true, Rarity didn't get anything in Cutie mark Chronicles. Although we did get her Sister and her parents which kinda counts, even if it was in the present time.

We really know very little about Rarity and Pinkie Pie's backstories, but even less about Rarity. Twilight is the main character, so we know a lot about her.
