music Music and feels

We've all heard it, that one song that just reaches out to you. It sees your heart and starts reading what's there. Why is music so amazing? Why is it able to do this to us? And why do so many songs fail to do so?

Because popuar music nowadays is all about sex, drugs, and money. There's nothing to it.

Let us do an example:

The Velvet Underground-I'll Be Your Mirror (1967)

I find it hard to believe you don't know

The beauty that you are

But if you don't let me be your eyes

A hand in your darkness, so you won't be afraid

When you think the night has seen your mind

That inside you're twisted and unkind

Let me stand to show that you are blind

Please put down your hands

Cuz I see you.

425, 979 hits on the first video on Youtube.

Stupid Hoe-Nicki Minaj (2011)

You a stupid hoe, you a you a stupid hoe

You a stupid hoe, you a you a stupid hoe

You a stupid hoe, you a you a stupid hoe

You a stupid hoe, you a you a stupid hoe etc, etc...

61,811,661 hits on the first video on Youtube.

At least Nivki Minaj's has a much higher percentage of likes to dislikes, but at the same time...how can something like that garner so much attention compared to the simplistic beauty of Monster Rally and The Velvet Underground and Metric?

It's really hard to explain why music makes us have emotional feels. It kinda just happens. I should know why, considering I'm a huge music nerd, but I just really don't.

So like, Imma post a song that gives me massive feels.

For some reason it just makes me feel all sad yet happy and somehow nostalgic, even though I heard the song for the first time like this year.

It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...
