The Labyrinth

Welcome to the labyrinth. It is a standard role playng game. I got the idea from the Play the Game thread, but I guess it either ended or is about to end. I'm not sure. Anyway, lets get down to business.

 

First, you create your character. It can be your avatar, an original character, or a character from Friendship is Magic. Please give a description, personality, abilities, cutie mark, etc. Please, no unstoppable gods (except me ).

 

Next, you wake up, confused, in the center of the maze. I will act as both narrator for challenges, and as the Slendermane. I will explain my character latter. You must describe your journey through the maze. I will give you challenges, give you choices, throw traps and monsters, etc. (No, I have never played D&D.) Characters can team up and interact (it is encuraged), but they may be separated by me latter.

 

Now, on to Slendermane. Take a look at my avatar. This is the physical manefistation of a powerful extradimentional being. It is based on the Slenderman, a monster from various internet horror stories.

It watches. It waits. It gives secret codes and clues (I'm not sure if I will or not). It drives you crazy. Do not try to attack Slendermane, or you will just wake up hours latter with a splitting headache, nausea, and possible rearranged internal organs. It will try to lead you. Where to, no one knows. No one knows what Slendermane's motives are (or if an extradimentional being can even have motives). It enjoys games, and playing with (manipulating) others.

 

I will try to come by and update when I can, but no guarantees. I do have school. Please, enjoy yourselves. Enter the labrynth, if you dare.

I will just be lyra, but with my personallity... (just making it easier for me ;D)

 

Lyra wakes up, dizzy and confused. Her head is spinning and she can't see strait. Once she regains her vision, she takes a look around. She sees large walls, she can't tell what they're made of, they have a weird grey-ish shade to them. She manages to stand up and look around. She sees multiple trails leading from the circle she's standing in. She wonders what to do, and if she is dreaming or not...

Name: Dave

Type: Pegasus

Gender: Male

Personality: He tries to be cool but he's actually kind of dorky and shy and he gets easily distracted by female "plot".

Abilities: None other than flying.

 

Dave wakes up after feeling a sharp pain in his wings. He looks at them and sees a chain tying them together. He tries to loosen the chain with his mouth but it's no use. It's held tight with a lock. He slowly gets up and looks around. "What is this place?", he asks himself. "Last thing I remember was going to sleep in my room."

Name: Garth Steelbeak

Species: Griffin

Gender: Male

Personality: He is blunt when speaking, always telling the full truth no matter how harsh it is. He is a pyromaniac.

Abilities: Flying. Physical Strength. Likes to Pick Fights.

 

Garth wakes up and quickly gets onto his claws. He looks around, sees a unicorn looking at the paths and a pegasus trapped by a chain around it's wings. He walks over to the pegasus and slashes the lock with his claw, setting the pegasus free. "This won't help you as much as you think. We can't fly out of here." He turns and walks to the center of the chamber. Looking at each of the different pathways.

Dave wants to thank the griffin but hesitates due to his agressive demeanor. He stretches his wings out to relieve the pain and begins inspecting the room. He notices the unicorn off in the distance. Despite his current situation his instincts kick in and he starts walking toward her to get a better look at dat plot. As he gets closer she notices him and he immediately looks the other way. "W-where are we? What's going on?", he asks.

Personality: Positive, will not give up.

Abilities: Just a plain 'ol earth pony.

 

Bon Bon slowly opens her eyes, taking a look around. She is in a maze with tall grey walls, and multiple paths leading out of the room. She tries to take a step forward, but quickly stops herself with a gasp as she realizes she is on a tiny island in the middle of the room, with no way to get to the paths leading out. Just my luck, she thinks.

Suddenly, a spark of hope! She hears voices in the distance... "...help you as much as you think. We can't fly out of here."

Seeing this as her only chance to get off the mini - island, she frantically yells for help.

"Hey! Over here - I'm stuck in this room! Somepony, help!"

Type: Earth Pony

Gender: Male

Personality: Somewhat sociopathic, (usually) friendly,

Abilities: Carries various transformation masks, knows a lot more than he lets on.

 

"Well, I suppose this is what I get for losing my way in the lost woods." the Happy Mask Pony grins as he casually observes his surroundings. He is in a corridor with no roof and mossy stone walls. He looks back and sees no indication of the forest from which he came. His ears perk up as he hears a loud conversation up ahead.

Garth looks over at Bon Bon. Seeing her situation he hits his claw to his face. He flies over Bon Bon and grabs her. Bring her over to the main land. He sees another new comer, "What the hell is this place?"

Suddenly, they notice a pony that had not been there before. This did not surprise them, as various ponies had been appearing already. However, something just seemed, off, about this pony. It was all black, except for the head, and it wore a red tie, but they couldn't make out a face. It had no mane or tail. Its cutie mark was a strange symbol; a circle with an X through it (X). It was just standing there, watching them.

Garth told Lyra, "Well, it seems like random ponies and a griffin are being teleported to this chamber." Garth turned to go down a tunnel.

"I don't want to stand around all day, and there' something off about that tall pony over there... I'm going to go take a closer look. Maybe he can help us? "

 

Bon Bon starts trotting over to the mysterious watcher..

Species: Unicorn

Gender: Female

Personality: She may be a lady, but she takes no nonsense. Tries to get straight to the point in whatever she does

Abilities: Excellent geometry and can retrace her tracks with perfect precision. She also can adapt quickly to her surroundings and use items and objects around her to her advantage.

Cutie Mark: A calligraphy inkbrush next to an ink slab

 

P.S. She's Asian. Be nice to her

 

Fa sat up slowly, feeling slightly hungover. This wasn't her house, neither was it the temple she goes to. Her hair is in a tangled mess as opposed to the bun that is kept in check with a pair of chopsticks. "Must have been the rice wine." she thought.

 

"Khai?" She called out to her husband, but there was absolutely no reply.She only heard the echo of her own voice bouncing off the walls. Walls surrounded her in all directions. That's all she saw.

"Who are these ponies? What's going on?"

 

Fa got to her feet and stood up. She saw much clearer now, and she was no where near home. She approached the nearest pony who looked like he could be of some assisstance. He was dressed in black and had the cutie mark of an "X".

 

"Sir, you know how I can get to Ponyville from here??"

The Happy Mask Pony sees the congregation of ponies(plus one griffin) and begins to approach. As he nears the party, he notices the slender one and immediately recalls an old Termanean legend about "The Slender One." It was said that he was nearly as old as the land itself, older than even the ancient tribes who first settled it. The happy mask pony checks his pack to see if he still has his full inventory. Fortunately, everything is in order.

The Slender pony looks at Madame Fa and tilts his head as if curious. He does not respond. Only watches. Then he glances over at the group of other ponies, showing them to Madame Fa. It is almost as if the pony is waiting for something.

Dave see's the tall, slender pony off in the distance and approaches cautiously. "I don't remember seeing him here. Where did he come from?". As he gets closer he starts to feel an uneasiness about this strange pony. He stops and stares at him for a moment before walking over to where the other ponies have gathered. "Maybe someone knows what's going on here."

Lyra follows Dave up to the mysterious creature. She asks "who are you? and more importantly, where are we?"

Slendermane began to move. Very slowly, it began to walk towards the group. Then it diappeared. Suddenly, it was behind them, facing a wall. On the wall was a message "Welcome to the Labyrinth. This maze will test you in ways you could not imagine. Your objective is to escape. How you do this is your choice. You cannot fly out of the maze, but hovering is allowed. For unicorns, you cannot teleport out of the maze. You may travel alone or together. Remember this. You create this maze. Not all is as it seems." It was signed with the Slendermane's cutie mark, the X within a circle (called the Operator symbol). Suddenly, the Slendermane was gone.

He stayed sitting at the entrance, watching the events unfold.

"So you just brought us here to challenge us? For what?!? We didn't ask to be challenged! (lol, technicaly we did)This isn't fair..."

 

Lyra begins to cry a little, but hinks of home, ponyville, and decides it's best to just move forward.

 

"Okay, I guess I have no choice but to go with you, Garth..." Lyra, follows the other ponies into the tunnel, trying not to imagine what willbecome of everypony...

"Useless nut." Madam Fa thought to herself. "Must be playing the fool with us."

 

She walked into the light where she could see clearly. Ponies were heading out in different directions. Fa had no idea where she would end up, but all she could see was the position of the sun in the sky, or part of it.

 

"That must be east."

 

Now that she had her bearings,she headed west to whatever awaits her there.

A strange raspy voice echoed throughout the maze, "To lose your way is to lose yourself. To find your way is to find yourself." Everyponies ears rang for a few minutes after the voice. Something seemed wrong about it.

The Happy Mask Pony decides to follow the crowd of fellow prisoners at a moderate distance , trying to discern their personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. All the while he ponders the mysterious words of slendermane, going over them repeatedly in his head. his thoughts are interrupted by a commotion up ahead.
