Awesome!

I really love ambient music, being orchestrated or electronic, and this was a great example of how to do ambient electronic RIGHT.

I'm very interested in if you are planning to continue making these.

Problem number one: you should use somewhere like Soundcloud.com to avoid downloads. Not everyone wants to download just to listen and some may not be able to like when on mobile....like me :3

I'll listen to it and then edit my post...

It's not bad. Could use some variation in a few spots pertaining to the sound you kept playing in the background the whole time. Not needed, but I feel like it should have. As I'm on mobile, I can't listen and type at the same time which makes it hard to move between the two and give specific instances...

It also felt empty for the most part. Could experiment with adding something else into the background to fill it in, though, this might mess up the atmosphere of the song if done wrong.

Eh, its ok overall.

Also, what program was used? I'm guessing something mainly using loops as you only had 1 hour to work on this and that's not exactly possible to do otherwise (and I could hear them stop and restart at two points). I say to get one that doesn't primarily use or focus on loops. Imho, I don't count loop made songs like this as a creation. Cause nothing really went into it other than placing peices and maybe changing a little bit. Using them is fine, its just when that's all its made of and nothing else (unless you actually made the loops yourself).

So, the other day in Marketing class we had a sub that just let us have free reign on the computers, so I decided to make a song with a program my friend showed me. I worked for like 1 hour on it so its probably not very good, but what do you guys think? Please tell me what i did wrong and stuff so I can get better.MusicLab (FirstSong).mp3

I thought it was pretty good for a first song!

Pros: There was a lot of variation to the sound effects and the types of sounds used.

Constructive Criticism: (still keep in mind you only worked on it for an hour!) I was waiting for the song to "take off" but the entire song sounded more like an introduction. I could tell there were a lot of pre-sets used as chord progression was pretty repetitive. Overall though, a good start!

No song has a set rule of how it should be. This is just a suggestion: Introduction (Slowly introduce elements to the song), the "Take off" (main melody, percussion, and other elements suddenly join in), The Breakdown (the breakdown is an unexpected change of emotion or rhythm in the song to add more feeling and uncertainty, The Recovery (recover from the breakdown and go back to the melody, adding additional elements if you want), The Wind Down (capture the essence of the entire song and slowly take away elements until only a few sounds and percussion is left), then, conclude the song! BTW, what program are you using?

Not bad for your first song but it is quite repetitive. Try and make your music so the listener can hear some progression in the way it sounds :)

But overall it's actually not bad if you like ambient.

This is pretty good! If you want, I can give you some pointers... I know Steel Matt asked this, but what program did you use to make this?
