If you're a unicorn, what is your list of magical spells?

Even though I'm a pegasus, I know these spells.

 

1. Active Camo- Turn invisible for a short time.

 

2. Phase-Run- Teleport short distances in quick succesion.

 

3. Power Wings- Gives much better, bigger, and golden wings.

 

4. Summon Swarm- Conjure a huge swarm of moths for help.

 

5. The Stare- *shudder*

As I have two unicorn personalities in my seven way split mind,

 

Chords has:

Harmonize - instantly harmonizes any instrument he is targeting, including vocals.

Frequency - turns anything into and instrument by forcing the item to vibrate at it's favorite frequency (Like when you sing that one note in the shower that feels really strong)

And Remix - a spell that allows him to freely edit any song as though it were a tangible object.

Paradox has:

Destruct - a spell that shows a projection of the chemical compounds an object is made of (It's easy to destroy something when you know how it's built)

Formula - Shows a projection of the mathematical equation for anything, and the algorithms of any possible (Encountered) situation

Knowledge siphon - Can magically beam knowledge from books into his memory.

Hm... If I was a unicorn... My magic?

 

Probably: lightning bolt

 

Fade into darkness (hold up... I can already do that...)

 

Levitation (obviously)

 

Charge ( give off electricity)

Idk... But my OC pegasus can do something similar to a sonic rainboom... A thunderboom ( it's rainboom but with black clouds and thunder n lightning...

My earth pony Addem's a magical theorist. He's got a few spells he uses.

 

Basic levitation: Like the name says, basic levitation. Levitating one thing is pretty easy, but the difficulty ramps up as you add more.

 

Healing acceleration: Accelerates the body's natural healing. Painful and time-consuming, but requires very little energy.

 

Cloak: (developed by studying changelings) Alters voice, creates an illusion that effectively changes appearance.

 

Mind Merge: This spell takes a lot of concentration, and can serious mess up both ponies' minds if done incorrectly. It pretty much lets me see inside somepony's mind, and vice versa. With practice, you can alter their mind. However, this drains energy quicky and is very hard to perform. Beginners be warned.

 

And Addem's pride and joy: Energy Absorption. This allows Addem to absorb energy, either direct magical energy or another form which is then converted. This is how Addem gets his energy for all of his spells.

 

There might be some others, but these are the main ones.

-Teleportation (far, no more ticket paying)

-Alteration (you know, plumb -> gold)

-Telepathy/mind-reading (no more learning for tests or exams)

-'Failsafe-spell' (turning every mass I want directly into energy, what would cause a gigantic blast. Good leverage, muahahah!)

-Reflective magical shield (assailant defeats itself)

-Healing (not just for me)

-Telekenesis (of course)

-Memory-spell (delete it or change it)

-Age-spell (for the lolz)

 

Yeah, I would be OP, but my bad planning would possibly cause me to defeat myself, if I was evil.

To give you the honest answer that I know you're not looking for: I'd be the Twilight/Hermione of Equestria. Why bother with a simple list of spells, if instead you could reverse-engineer magic itself and do almost anything?

 

But, in the spirit of this thread, I'll leave you with the description of the only spell I'd truly ever need. This is from FO:E, Chapter 6.
 

"Away with the old, embrace the new, right?" I clopped my hoof on the counter again.
 
"Apple Whiskey, another of your specials, please!"
 
Apple Whiskey, the bartending unicorn who owned and ran Turnpike Tavern, poured
me another glass. Then, as I watched, he lined up seven apples on the counter – beautiful
golden apples quite unlike the pale and flavorless ones back not-home – and waved his
horn over them, magically transforming them one-by-one into bottles of the most
delicious, pain-numbing, mind-easing fermented apple beverage. Beside me, Calamity
clopped his hooves on the floor in applause and several mares in the tavern let up a
whoop.

My Oc's are: ( She is an alicorn)

 

Larage sheild: can project a massive magical barrier around ponies and such

 

Teleportation: teleport short or large distances

 

Time travel: she can't do small jumps like 2 mins but she can do large jumps

 

Dellusions: cann project a certain image or senario into some other ponies head to harm or whatever or make a pony see something and see another

 

Mind Music: can make any music in her head play in the real world and thoughts aswell if she trys real hard but she does re play music she heard from the radio

Honestly, i dont think i would need anything besides telekinesis, I'll be able to pick things up without moving, that would be useful.

 

Maybe some sort of teleportation spell not for me to teleport with, rather teleport small objects to different places and such x:

Hmmmmm......

 

Teleportation- just short distances

 

Conjure a doppleganger- make a "clone" of yourself

 

Kekkai like objects- make platform like boxes in midair which seem ethereal, but have the ability to be stepped on

(1) Limited teleportation - Essentially only works if I can see where I'm teleporting to, or I'm teleporting directly to the other side of a wall.

 

(2) Electrical Charge - Sub-Spell. Doesn't have any real effect other than preparing for other spells.

 

(3) Lightning Bolt [From 2] - Simple as that: Fires a lightning bolt from my horn.

 

(4) Overcharge [From 2] - Basically continuing the Electrical Charge spell until it's no longer possible to even focus on it anymore. For some strange reason, it makes me move faster.

 

(5) Fog-like Movement - Barely visible and extremely hard to hear, I just appear as a cloud of fog.

Silverhoof’s spells. He awoke with a theme, Tree Shaping. This allows him to do nearly anything as long as the target is a tree. To him, these are intuitive, not specific spells. Silverhoof treats these more like super powers than spells.

Silverhoof has never been trained in magic, and has no other magical abilities.

---It could be argued that this is essentially one spell, Tree Shaping, and these are merely various expressions of that single versatile spell.

 

Area of Effect Spell. This can be applied to any of the other spells, but it takes time and must be cast first. Silverhoof extends the root network connecting all trees in an area of up to 300 feet in diameter. The roots grow with a grumbling sound and the earth moves a bit giving the impression of a light earthquake.

 

Tree Shaping. This was his first and most basic spell. This alters the shape of trees. It can make them move, create tents made of leaves, drop off diseased limbs or even parts of the trunk.  Silverhoof can even heal trees with this spell, growing new limbs, or even whole trunks. He cannot change what kind of tree it is, but he can do most anything else to it. He can grow trees to be as big as the mighty sequoias or as small as a bonsai.

--In time he will be able to make homes out of trees like Twilights library.

 

Tree Empathy.  Silverhoof can touch a tree and feel its life force: the pumping of the sap, the roots feeding, the leaves taking energy from the sun. He can diagnose various infestations and diseases, and heal them with his tree shaping spell.

 

Create food. Silverhoof can cause a tree to flower, germinate, and produce its nuts or fruit in a mere moment. In fact, Silverhoof can combine this spell with Tree Shaping to create any fruit or vegetable he has personally eaten. A tree, can produce an entire farmers market hanging from its branches: Carrots, apples, potatoes, strawberries, grapes, bananas, coconuts…anything you can find in the produce section of a standard grocery store can appear in the branches of a tree.

---Silverhoof cannot create magical fruit like Zap apples.

Side note: this can also be used to make any flower he has ever seen.

 

Bioluminescence.  Silverhoof can create natural light from any part of a plant. Further he can intensify the light to the intensity of a 100 watt bulb. With his area of effect, whole sections of a forest can light up like a Christmas tree. Any color of light is possible.

---He can use this with the above spell to make glow in the dark flowers.

 

Offensive spells.  (made even more dangerous with the Area of Effect spell!)

 

Daggerleaf. He can make leaves as hard and sharp as daggers and drop them on targets. With his Area of Effect spell this can be rather deadly.

 

Log Drop. Branches grow as thick and tree trunks and drop off, smashing the target.

 

Whiplash. Tree branches grow, reaching out to ensnare a target. Then they whip back and forth, repeatedly slamming the victim into the ground. If not fatal, this will break most of the bones in a body.

 

Roots.  Erupting from the ground, roots will trip or entangle a target. Combines with Tree Shaping, they can drag a victim underground and bury him alive. Not exactly a pleasant way to go. Silverhoof can also choose to strangle or crush his victim to death.

 

Spear trap.  Roots as sharp and straight as spears erupt from the ground. Not a wise idea to give Silverhoof the time to use his Area of Effect spell with this.

 

Defensive Spells. Silverhoof has none. He can use his tree shaping spell to creates protective walls and cover them with thorns or whatnot…but that takes time, time he does not have in a combat situation.

 

---Silverhoof may look cocky and overconfident in his avatar, but he hasn’t met anypony who can hurl a fireball yet.

 

Silverhoof really doesn’t see himself as a combat fiend, he would much rather develop the more peaceful uses for his powers.

Hmm, if I was a unicorn, I think that I'd like to have the most overpowered spells of all time, of course!

 

...just kidding. They'd be cool (at least in my eyes), but nothing too overpowering. Does anyone remember the old MLP online game that got shut down by Hasbro? As Twilight, you could spec into a school of magic named "Entropy," dealing with cold and darkness. That, I think, will be the general theme here. I am also going to shamelessly steal spells from other games as I see fit. Deal with it.

 

Crescent Strike (7 second cooldown, 50 mana)

Fires a bolt of lunar energy in an arc to target area within 20 yards, dealing Shadow damage to all things caught in its path. Can be fired left hooved or right hooved. Damage at the tip (where it lands) is greater than in flight. Enemies struck are afflicted with Moonlight, which illuminates victims in a harsh light for 3 seconds, and grants other spells additional effects.

 

Remorseless Winter (1 minute cooldown, 150 mana)

Cloaks me in a tempest of frigid winds for a short time. Anyone (enemy or friendly, sadly) standing within 15 yards will slowly become imprisoned in ice, their movement speed being reduced with each passing second. If exposed long enough (6 seconds), victims are stunned for 6 seconds. If afflicted by Moonlight, Remorseless Winter only takes half as long to stun a victim.

 

Shadows' Grasp (25 second cooldown, 100 mana)

Stomp the ground, pulling all enemies within 10 yards towards me. If afflicted by Moonlight, range becomes 15 yards.

 

Rime (16 second cooldown, 75 mana)

Empowers my melee attacks for 6 seconds to deal bonus Frost damage each strike, and increase attack speed by 50%. Enemies are also slowed by 25% for 1.5 seconds when struck. Enemies afflicted by Moonlight will receive 25% more damage.

 

Paranoia (10 minute cooldown, 250 mana)

Cloaks a massive area (the entirety of Ponyville, perhaps?) in darkness for several seconds, and removes the ability for enemies and allies to see each other, even if they were right next to one another when the spell began. I may then dash a very large distance (say, a quarter of the way across Ponyville) through the shadows to a target enemy, dealing Shadow damage upon my arrival. However, I may only use the dash if an ally is nearby, or if the target is afflicted by Moonlight. An additional consequence of being afflicted by Moonlight is that if I dash to an afflicted enemy, the dash component of Paranoia is reset, but the vision reduction is not.

 

My unicorn self would have a base mana pool of...1500 mana. Any spell can be empowered to increase duration, range, and damage dealt of all effects, but at the cost of quadrupling the mana expenditure.

 

Based off of these spells, you guys could probably guess that I'd be a melee fighter that likes to get up close and personal, having several methods to pull you to me (or me to you), and keep you there. Unfortunately, once we're breathing down each other's necks, I know no advanced technique to escape combat if things go badly for me. In a team, I would be highly effective at picking off, or assassinating, high value targets that are hanging back behind their allies.

 

My kit also revolves critically around hitting enemies with Crescent Strike, for the Moonlight debuff it provides. Dodge the Crescent Strikes and my threat level decreases significantly, but not down to zero.

 

With such combat oriented spells, my unicorn ponysona, as it were, would probably be at home in Luna's Night Guard or some such nonsense. Perhaps a royal assassin?

Teleportation: One of the most useful skills in a mages arsenal, excellent for travel and avoiding incoming attacks.

 

Magic Reflect: Similar to the tutamenis force technique Yoda and other high level jedi use to block and redirect force lightning and that jedi master Satelle Shan used to block a lightsaber and break it in half with her bare hands.

 

Lightning storm: Takes a minute to focus but is a move that can take out large groups of enemies very quickly.

 

Magic Persuasion: Similar to the famous jedi mind trick it is able to influence weak willed creatures

 

Mind Rape: It is magic persuasion on steroids, it can control even the strong willed but requires a great deal of focus to pull off.

Alright let's get to business:

 

DJ Equip:

One spell with multiple effects and those effects are the following:

 

Neon Strobe: just as the name sounds it produces a varity of neon colored in a strobe like effect.

 

Sound Barrier: a spell designed to keep sound IN an inclosed space as to maximize the effects of said sounds.

 

Mystic Fog: A coloring changing fog for the dance floor, 'cause who doesnt like fog :)

 

alright so im not the greatest at think of spells haha but I personally really like the idea of a single spells with these kind of effects, oh and each effect cam be switched "on" or "off" just to had to the whole equipment idea.

Anyway, it seems from others' responses that this isn't just limited to spells in the show, so if I had a unicorn OC (which I probably will soon), he'd be a stock "battle mage" of sorts, swinging between the schools of the destructor and the illusionist:

 

-Inferno: A blast of flames originating from the caster's horn. May be spread out to hit multiple targets or concentrated into one large fireball for massive burning damage against a single target. 

 

-Call Lightning: Summons a bolt of lightning to strike one target for moderate damage and a chance to cause temporary paralysis. Cannot be cast under clear skies.

 

-Muddle: Can cause a target to perceive nonexistent visual, auditory, tangible, or olfactory stimuli (i.e., forced hallucinations). Low-level casters may only manipulate a single aspect of target's perception at once.

 

-Temporal Illusion: Manipulates a target’s mental “processing speed” to slow down or speed up their perception of time; a target can be made to think their opponents are moving at blinding speeds (giving them no reaction time) or moving in slow-mo (giving them more reaction time). Time itself is not affected.

 

-Teleport: Stock unicorn spell, allowing caster make vast leaps through space in the blink of an eye. Higher-level casters can teleport objects other than self.

Tree Twist Causes trees to appear as if reaching with deadly intent.

Here Fishy - Lures fish to Blaze

Shine Bright - Horn shines bright, blinding others temporarily

Burn Bright - Causes flames to burn hotter and higher.

Sharpen - Makes even blunt objects razor sharp.

True Aim - Things launched by horn always find their mark.

Firewall - Once again, very self explanatory... But who doesn't want to stop their "enemies" in their track with a huge wall of fire?!

I think it's good that I'm not a unicorn...

My tree magic (above) is nice, but you would so kick my hiney in a fight.  

Not every unicorn is a combat fiend (mine is downright peaceful), but I've played enough DnD to learn to compare.

Were I to transform into the unicorn I know I am, ( :3 )

I would probably harness these few magical abilities:

 

 Strong Levitation (Multi-task) - I'm always doing multiple things at once, so this is a critical part of me and would train so I could effortlessly hold many items at once.

 

 Teleportation - Simple, self-explanatory.

 

 Light Shield/Bubble - Conjure up a bubble around me or a shield to defend against most spells...or just maybe have people run into them :3

 

 Flame/Arcane Aura - Able to draw a circle around myself, and ignite that cirlce either with flames or an even more powerful arcane spell that I can either lay into the ground as a trap or shoot as an attack.

 

 Enchantment - Using high level spells, would be able to put spells and abilities that only unicorns can do into armour, or just common items so that other races could learn how to use them as well.
