Human Rarity in a Sparkly White Dress

This is more what I think "Human Rarity" would look like.

 

 

It's a more modest version of her made by me. I imagined human Rarity to have an "essence" that was more lively and like the one in the show. I couldn't imagine Rarity to go in a bikini, unless that was the new "fashion trend", otherwise, her morals wouldn't allow it.

 

Took me about 6 and a half hours to draw. I'm still going to experiment with the eyes to make it more of what I pictured it to be, but for now, I will post it with these eyes.

 

I notice that I find it more like the actual Rarity when I think of her cunning British/South African accent. When I think of her talking in that accent, it makes the picture seem more exotic to me. I will experiment with it until it's good enough for vectoring!

 

So here she is in an overly-sparkled white dress!

That pic kinda gives me chills... The way that Fluttershy is drawn makes it look PERFECT, but Rarity is not anything as I pictured her to be.

 

But this is about hair, is it? I gave Human Rarity her hipster hair (first going for hipster Rarity) because I didn't know exactly how to make her mane into human form- WITHOUT having a punk Mohawk. The big poofy hair in the pic you showed me; I didn't do that in my drawing because it is distracting, and it doesn't remind me about anything of her mane.

I made it very sparkly, but I didn't draw it exactly as I wanted it. (same with other parts of the picture) I still haven't got the picture of human Rarity from my mind onto paper. Thanks again Comrade!

Her head seems to not to have the right size or maybe the eyes are too big and placed in the wrong place, the forehead. It could be that or the head is not big enough, but that makes her look weird.

Her ears are too big, but that's up to you, maybe you wanted to draw her with big ears. If that so, it's not fitting. Her clavicle bones should be larger, her boobs are not well drawn. The cut of the cleavage of the dress is too hugh, so it's not possible for her to be able to show the beginnnig line of the separation of the boobs. And they are not round, they look saggy or if she is wearing a grandma bra XD

However the hair is nice, the eyes, the earings and necklace (my favorite part), the dress, all these things are acceptable to me.

I'm barely accepting the curls you did, but the front part of her hair MUST GO! this would suit Twilight much better...when I think of Rarity I see curls, waves, curves all the way. That dress is a fashion crime, and it looks like it was made for a grandma, it's not modern for her, it makes her look old, the dress looks like it was in a bigger size, it doesn't fit her well, except for the chest area. The jewelry is great I have to say, however if the necklace is very sparkly and shinny, you would put her smaller earings so it doesn't makes her look as shinny as a disco ball.

 

I can't say nice job humanizing her, because I'm used to see this, but your Rarity is like more innocent the the rest of Raritys that I've seen out there, when she is the total opposite.

Interesting. When I got here I kind of expected to see a human Rarity wearing a sparkling white dress. Nevertheless, that is quite a good drawing you have there. Perhaps I shall go to the market someday and purchase a sparkling white dress of my own, hopefully at a bargain price.

This is bearable to me, although it's a bit on the harsh side.

 

Again, not a lot of drawing experience comes in my hand. I am still experimenting with the proportions of the face and body til I get it spot on, but this is about what we think human Rarity would most likely look like...

No offense, but your pictures of human Rarity don't express what most people would call an "elegant" Mohawk. It looks pretty punky to me.

Oh the fun drama over art. Eh... I've been annoyed by critiques of others before anyways, so I've been on the receiving end also.

I think there should be less experimentation and just look at what works for other artists. If you want realism, you can just find a picture and try to copy by eye (grid optional and can be helpful). If you want anime, look up drawing guides and see what sort of shortcuts you wanna take, and see how your results compare to other artists. Then again, what I seem to hear often enough is that learning realism always helps with drawing anime as anime is inevitably based off of real faces but exaggerate or simplify certain parts.

 

You also have to realize that babies proportionally have bigger eyes, and as we grow older, our head grows a bit faster than our eyes (dunno if eyes grow at all honestly). For this reason, we seem to subconsciously see large eyes as being younger, so anime styles have a tendency to shrink eye size to show age. (Fun thought: MLP completely flips this idea on its head, but they use roundness of eyes to show youth instead, I believe.)

 

If there's a reason why Rarity looks like a child, it's probably either 1. because Motion seems to like more realistic styles of human drawing while you are more interested in something stylized or 2. because that's what large eyes do to how young somebody looks... *edit* or 3. Because her face is rounder than a lot of women in the age range you're thinking. I don't see her as a child though.

I admit I put some of my personal "taste" in my post because you dared to step on my thread (the bikini one) and tell how I should draw a human Rarity.

 

OK. On the art critique, I can't say much, keep practicing keep improving, I am not perfect and I have a lot that I have to learn as well, you have some skills there.

 

No offense, but your pictures of human Rarity don't express what most people would call an "elegant" Mohawk. It looks pretty punky to me.

That's the problem when trying to compare Equestria with the Earth. In my world Rarity would do a photoshoot in bikini, If you can't accept that, then sorry deal with it!

I'm out. I like competition, but this fight is against you and the forums and I don't have energy to deal with so much negativity. If you saw my other thread, they destroyed me because they can't see a character in a more humanistic style, I won't draw typical anime happy girl. I love anime a lot and when I draw humans I have a big influence by it, but I prefer american style of drawing because they are close to reality.

Good luck with your next Rarity though.

I believe we have gone too far on this... apparently now, we both realize that it's just our opinions that are different. I guess there is no need to fight on this. (If we continued, we might of ended up getting warning points for "abusive behavior")

 

We were probably so focused on 1-upping each other because Rarity is best pony. Dang! She is so pretty, that she's gotten us to fight over her (sort of)!

 

I never EVER wrote an arguing post like the one I did a few hours ago... I guess I was just really upset about my favorite pony being humanized, and drawn in a harassing way. I was either going to try to attack that post, or just hide in a corner and never sleep again. I decided that I didn't want to be offended, so I tried drawing her myself to form a new image of her! Forgive me for being so negative, but I didn't want the pic to continue to effect me. I bashed your drawing because I wanted to distract myself from what I really thought of it.

 

What scares me, is that when someone makes a sexy-human picture of a fictional character, I either can't look at the same character again, or I end up getting an odd crush on it. (Hormonal-14 year old teenager = weird stuff)

 

I guess it started when I was little, when I accidentally ran into hentei (anime/other cartoon porn). Now-a-days I get easily harassed by sexy-humanized cartoon drawings, and I don't seem to get the image out of my head.

 

I still might draw one more humanized pic of Rarity, but after that, I don't want Human Rarity to even be mentioned again! She belongs to the magical land of Equestria, and not to this cruel world...

That is why I made this thread: Knowing that if I made a thread to inspire people to be nicer on the internet, that I would also gain confidence in myself.

If you know me you know that I won't keep my mouth shut and that I always going to speak my mind wether you like it or not. I have to admit the the umm...your enjoyment for provocative anime characters, caught me off guard. I have to ask, that if you were slightly attracted by my Rarity? I see where are you comming from *suspicious grin*

 

In the end, we are both Rarity fans, we love her, we are obssesed with her, so we, as Rarity fans, we should stick together because there are plenty of ignorant people who end up making asumptions of her based on superficial traits of her personality, we both know that that's not true and that she's a generous pony.
