Ever since TF2 went F2P, it seems as if there is a dirth of Medics. I'll go onto a fair number of servers---most of which are not the Valve servers---and both teams will have zero Medics. I recall at least one Medic per team prior to the F2P period, or at least players would readily change classes to accomodate the needs of the team.

No one seems to readily understand the importance of a Medic---a good, competent Medic---in helping a team win. What's worse is now Medics will use the Quick-Fix in place of the regular Medigun. Unless you are complimenting a standard Uber Medic, keeping players on the front lines by healing them with rapidity, then you have little business using a nearly useless Medigun against a sentry nest.

I agree, the Quick-fix is pretty darn useless. Stock Medigun all the way ;)

I like to use QF there too, considering the fast übercharge rate really helps in getting quickly to 100%, healing you as you pop it and heal a teammate.

I think the Quick-Fix is receiving too little love, honestly. Knockback immunity is not to be taken lightly!

Sure it can't overheal, but the QF shines in prolonged battles.

But the main thing is, it really absolutley shines as a field-medigun. It is much more rewarding in the type of medic that heals all injured teammates he sees rather than to stick onto the same target.

Again; different players, different opinions..this is just my view on it.

Quick fix isn't however as bad as you may think.

( Plus, it is by far the fanciest backpack on the medic. Otherwise there's the scrap pack I sometimes use, if I ain't using nine-pipe problem, G. Quadwrangler or the procedure mask. It's for sale, if anypony's interested.)

The problem with the Quick-Fix is that it is not a hard counter to anything. A standard Mediguns trumps the other Mediguns due to its invulnerability for both the Medic and his patient, but it takes the longest to charge; the Kritz is a fast way to build an Uber and take out a large batch of soft targets, but it has a noticable weakness against Sentry nests and lacks invulnerability; the Quick-Fix features a faster healing rate and no knock back, but it has no overheal and leaves the Medic and the Ubercharge target extremely vulnerable. A regular Ubercharge completely blunts a Quick-Fix while a Kritz can kill the combo using the Quick-Fix even if they are "ubering." The Quick-Fix is arguably only useful on its own when time is precious and you are making a final push which requires all available troops to be in one piece.

In my opinion the Quick-Fix only becomes useful when it compliments a standard Medigun wielding Medic. As I said before, it keeps players near the front and close to full health; they will be less likely to run off to find Medpacs or get cut down waiting for the other Medic to heal them. Plus the Quick-Fix keeps that Medic alive. It can also fill in during the time the regular Medigun Medic is respawning.

As the tip of the spear, however, the Quick-Fix is a poor man's Medigun without any distinct advantage other than a faster healing rate. If forced to choose between the two, I'd rather have an overheal buff than faster healing---especially with the risk of sustaining catastrophic damage from critical stickies or rockets.

I hardly use anything other than the stock medi gun. Does anyone use the "solemn vow" or whatever it's called??

I never really used that weapon, but I recently gave it a chance and I actually liked it. Now I often use it when I'm using the Kritzkrieg and the Blutsauger.

I agree with much, spoon. While not a terrible medigun, it does get beaten by the kritzkrieg. And it isn't making you godly like the normal medigun.

But it still beats them in the "Field" medic job, though!

Anyhoof, I wonder what next update will bring..

I really want a new sappers. My friend thought of an idea called the "Slide-N-Sap." Basically it would be like the sapper if meet the spy where he tosses it under the sentry. I don't know any stats that would be on it, but it sounds really fun to use :)

Next update will probably bring...

5% weapons that are actually decent, not overpowered or underpowered.

15% weapons that are too powerful, with overpowered buffs and with practically zero downsides to using it.

30% weapons that are so underpowered that nobody smart will use them, but noobs will use them and aggravate their teammates by constantly dying.

50%: Cosmetic items.

I sound pessimistic, but that's my honest prediction for the next big update.

Also, if I were to do some kind of contest that rewards TF2 items, who all would be interested?

I'd be interested in some sort of contest myself, as long as it isn't something too hard! ( Like drawing or anything - I'm so terrible at it XD )

Pretty much, yeah. That and the LL. :P

And the contest wouldn't be hard, and definitely not drawing, since I wouldn't hold a contest for something I myself am incapable of doing. Probably related to TF2, since the reward is related to TF2. I dunno, haven't thought too much about it.

Alrighty, I'll put some thought into it, and what the rewards will be. I've got some hats to spare, and stuff.

Also, can anypony recommend me some decent servers to play on?

Speaking of OP weapons, it was strange how long it took Valve to attempt to "balance" the Enforcer. Sweet Celestia was that thing unfair.

I use the enforcer myself the most, because of how much it provided, really.

The previous version was basically a straight upgrade if used together with the dead ringer.

It still maintained its damage, but at least won't shoot as fast now.

Because disguises makes the damage equal to the revolver, it will sort of encourage spies to let go of a disguise if they want to gun a mercenary down.

I never really used the enforcer. The ambassador has always been better than the enforcer in my opinion.

If you got the aim, the ambassador makes the sweetest 'fixin yer tie' taunt.

Enforcer is more like "Shock in awe of my powerful gun, filthy jar man.."

Guys, something new came out today.
New items that have been described as crafting ingredients: a goldfish, a banana peel, a wooden plank, a cheese wheel, a pocket lint and... a secret diary.
http://stats.tf/item/5605/Secret_Diary%29
Out of 1,757,912 inventories, 3 copies of this item exist.
Check the icon of the item... one of the corners of the diary is burnt.
Now check the main page of team fortress 2, do you see the Pyro burning things there? That's right, he's/she's there burning wooden houses and stuff.
Check the Wooden Plank, you see there are burn marks at the end of it? That relates to the picture in the Team fortress 2 main page!
This means:

Meet The Pyro is coming out soon!

I was meaning to post about the weird new items added, but you beat me to it. :P

Your guesses are probably right. Which means, we're probably getting some big updates soon. Looking forward to them. Been ages since there was a noteworthy update, after all.

I would laugh my flank off if they set it up like it's leading towards Meet the Pyro coming out, but then instead they release Episode Three out of the blue to screw with people.
