More specifically though, I'm referring to the music. Anyone else here a fan of some Darkwave? Coldwave? Deathrock? Dark Cabaret? Goth Rock? Industrial? Industrial Rock? Industrial Metal? Gothic Metal? Electro Industrial? EBM? Scynthpop? Futurpop? Power Noise? [/insert other genres associated with Goth in one way or another]

 

I guess I could start by annoying all the Trad Goths and post a bit of Futurpop. That's always fun.

I'm not goth myself but I do have a tendency to like gothic artworks. Stuff like Cradle of Filth or artwork and time-period stuff like Corpse Bride (set in Gothic London) and the like. Always has a tendency to attract me one way or another. Not much into the fashion of it usually though.

I've actually seen lots of Goths at clubs I go to with plushies and cutsie stuff, so it doesn't surprise me much that there's a few out there into MLP as well. In fact, I'd imagine there's quite a lot.

Well, I do love gothic metal. Bands like My Dying Bride, Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, and A Pale Horse Named Death are some of my favorites. I'm not really a fan of other gothic genres, with the exception of the occasional industrial song.

Lifestyle or not I don't have to take part in it to enjoy the stuff it creates.

 

The fashion doesn't appeal to me though, probably why I don't dress like that. I would look ridiculous anyway. The only fashion that fits me even remotely is more the lumberjack type (flannel shirts, jeans, etc.)

But yeah, Type O Negative are fantastic.

 

It's just personal preference. I see where you're coming from, their vocalist is very similar to Peter Steele in terms of style. They both belong to that baritone range. The songs are as gloomy as well. Very similar bands.
