Rose, now in a fantastic mood, almost knocked Bright Spark over as she leapt, giggling, into the rescue boat. She was going to get to go home after all! She was going to get to see her wonderful garden again! Yet, for some reason... It held less of an appeal than before, to disappear among the trees and bushes and flowers and not emerge.

Stacy looked in the direction she thought was ponyville and tried to remember the name Rose had told her. Boggling her mind she couldnt remember. As soon as she stopped trying to remember it poped into her head. *of course.* she thought to herself. She whispered "Descant" to the air hopeing it would work.

Miles and miles away, the lavender unicorn jumped, awakened from his slumber. His ears had twitched, as happened so often. However, this time, he was not as annoyed at being woken as he was intrigued. This was not a voice he had heard before.

 

"Yes?" He asked drowsily, looking towards where he knew the sea to lie. He could not hear the sound of his own voice, but he knew whoever had contacted him could.

Somber and Star both made it safely on the boat, with Somber hugging her each and every step. Something wasn't right with him. Why was he THIS happy? Was it natural to feel this way? Maybe he had never experienced being happy before... Since his life was literal depression... He didn't want this feeling to go away. Not for a long time...

Stacy gave herself a mental pat on the back. She didnt know that it was possible for an earth pony to what she was doing now. "Hi." She paused to think a out what to say. "Can you send Littlehop a message saying were being picked by a cargo ship? Tell her its from Stacy." Stacy paused to let him reply unsure of how long she could hold the conversation since she "casted" the spell or what ever it was.

Scamps heard the yeling of the other ponies from the other boat, and shesat right up. "A....ship? A ship!" She said excitedly. She quickly shook Airy awake. "Airy, wake up, we're saved! Somepony found us!" She lifted Airy up and carried him to the boat and boarded.

 

Noticing tht her burnt wing was still out, Scamps tried to fold it in. She shivered in pain as she folded along the burn and it touched her flank. 'It's okay. We're rescued, and Airy and I will live happily ever after or something....' Scamps thought.

Bright Spark could not help but to giggle, at nothing. It wasnt the crew, it wasnt the other ponys. It wasnt rose. He was just, giggling. And for once in years, he felt the happiest he ever had, like no matter what happened it would be good. And this wasnt a "im in a party getting drunk." happy, this was a "ive just lived the apocolypse" happy.

Reclining lazily in his bed, Descant raised an eyebrow, an ineffective move considering he was hundreds of miles away from his this... this pony named Stacy that he was talking to. "I'd be happy to pass on a message. Thing is, I don't know anypony named Little Hop. And... I'm assuming you know Rose, since you're at sea... I can hear the waves..."

 

(OOC: I need to go take a shower. And I'll be gone again tonight, there's another band concert I'm attending. I'll be leaving at about 6:15 EST.)

"Yeah...i know her. Well, i yeah...im just going to leave it at that. Anyways, Hop is the only therapist in ponyville. You might now her by her real name Cadence." She told him hopping that he might actually know her. Stacy thought everyone in ponyville knew her, but apparently not.

"Well, mares first." Firecracker said to her. He let Moonbeam on to the raft that would lead them to safety. Moonbeam had managed to get on the ship first, smiling. then Firecracker following behind her.  After getting on, they both got to hear Descant on the intercom of the ship.

After being momentarily confused at the name of the Princess, Descant smiled. "I know Ponyville's therapist, but I never had much to do with her. I always just go to Rose to talk about my problems." After a thoughtful pause, he continued, "Yeah, sure, I'll send Little Hop the message right now." 

 

Momentarily silencing the connection to Stacy, his horn glowed a faint maroon, and he muttered under his breath. Then he brought his connection to Stacy back up in his mind. "She's been notified. I think she said something about wanting to talk to you, but she doesn't seem to need my help to do it."

 

The door to Descant's room burst open, and into the room came a grumpy-looking grey earth pony with a messy red mane. "We're trying to sleep! SHUT UP!" he shouted at Descant, slamming the door behind him on his way back out.

 

Descant groaned. "Sorry if you heard that. I need to be going now. Buh-bye!"

Moonbeam climbed into the rescue raft with a smile. Once inside, one of the sailors began to ask her questions. "Were you all from the S.S. Romantic?" he asked.

 

"Yes, how do you know?" she responded.

 

"Well, miss, one of you must have some friends in high places," he responded, turning away to help more of her friends onto the raft.

 

When Firecracker climbed onto the raft, they sat next to eachother, with Moonbeam putting her arm around him.

Stacy thanked Descant and closed off the connection. She began to wonder if she could do it with anypony. It would be a while before Hop actually got to her because she had to go to Stacys brother. So stacy concentrated on Hop and whispered her name in hopes that it would work. Stacy felt her ear flick as a sign that she got through. "Hop, you there?" She asked confidently.

"Stacy? Wha- how? I was just heading to your brothers so i can talk to you."

Stacy smiled, "Yeah i figured as much. Apparently im able to do this "spell" that Rose taught me."

There was a pause. "Stacy youre an earth pony. Its impossible for you to cast spells."

"Well yeah i know. Im not sure how to explain it but it works." Stacy paused to breath as she forgot to do while she was bathing in her success at a second attempt at this "spell". "Im sorry for what i did earlier. I was just..really stressed."

A sympathetic voice replied. "Its ok. I understand that youre going through a rough time right now. Im glad to hear that youve been found. You know your brother is worried."

Stacys tone became agitated at the mention of her brother. "I dont care. Im still mad at him for doing what he did."

"Stacy that was five years ago. You need to get past it. I know its hard being left behind with your mother after you dad died, but you need to get past it. He is still your brother." Hop paused to let her words sink in. "He still cares."

"I know he does, ill talk to him in person when we get back to land."

"Alright. Just dont go get drunk, ok?"

Stacy smiled a little. "Im not allowed to anymore."

"Why? Who said?"

Stacy laughed on the inside at hops tone. "No one did. Its just...i feel in love again."

"Really? Who?"

Stacy looked at Rose and gave her a smile before answering. "With the nutcase. The one who live by the Everfree with the garden."

There was a short pause as Hop tried to comprehend what she just heard. "Im sorry, but youre not talking about that Crazy flower girl are you? Thats a pretty bad joke Stacy."

"No, no, im not joking. Shes perfect. You would be surprised just how normal she actually is. I actually think i could have another chance at being happy."

Hop was laughing on the other end. "Well, alrighty then. I guess ill let you go. Im heading back to sleep. Night."

Stacy smiled, "Night Hop." She said quietly and closed the connection. Looking back at Rose her heart fluttered. Something it hadnt done in a long while, and she knew that Rose could still potentially chose her.

Firecracker had felt Moonbeam's arm around him, It made him comfortable. After being out this far and this long, they were finally going home. "Hey sir, is everyone on yet? If so, are we going to go now?" he asked one of the sailors who was docking all of the ponies on to the rescue boat.

Airy looked at the horizon and hardly was able to believe what he saw. "We... we are... we are safe! Hey! over here!", he shouted and waved his fore hooves - immediately losing his balance and landing on Scamps' back.

"Oh my... I'm so sorry... I exactly hit your wound... Oh, I'm so so sorry... Does it hurt very much?"

Scamps winced as Airy hit her wound. "I....I'm fine," she said, in a slight crouch. "It's just a burn, how bad could it be?" She asked, trying to smile. "Besides, we're almost home, which makes everything okay. We don't have to wprry about survival anymore, or zebas, or volcanos....nothing."

"Just a burn? Scamps, you risked your life for all those ponies and me, so you can be awfully lucky it's just a burn. But once we're rescued we'll find you a doctor. If I can't keep you safe myself, maybe this way I can go a step in the right direction." He raised Scamps' head with his hooves.

"You never let me go, not even in the greatest moments of danger. I can't believe I even deserve having someone like you as my very special somepony." He slowly pulled her head closer to his and set his lips on hers.

Scamps didn't have a chance to reply back before she felt Airy's lips on hers. She kissed him back, holding him close with her hooves. She was tempted to try and french kiss, but she decided against it, deciding she would only do so if he did.

 

She thought about everything they had been through, from the very start on the camping trip, how they had gotten lost in the caves, how Scamps had never wanted to leave the woods. It finally hit Scamps on why she hadn't minded those risky situations;

 

'I do feel safe around him. I feel like I'm invincible with him, that nothing can hurt me.'

Rose had been exhausted, and collapsed when she made it onto the ship. It was a lot drier on the ship, and steadier. She fell straight to sleep.

Descant smirked. He had accidentally acted as a relay for their entire conversation, and therefore had been privy to it. Ooh... So Stacy wasn't just somepony... She was the somepony... Rose's somepony... Last he heard, Rose was in an emotional dilemma... Rose would flip when he relayed this conversation to her...

Stacy turned to Rose and saw her passed out on the deck of the boat and giggled. She looked out to the ocean with a grin on her face, she was litteraling beaming. Stacy had never felt so happy before. She didnt feel anything except happiness and joy...and it felt so good, she felt alive for once. And nothing would take that away...

"Somber...I am going to ask where there is a bed...I am more tired than...Thaaaaan." She yawned the last part and giggled. "I'll be right back." She hugged him and trotted of to one of the crew members. "Excuse me...I dont suppose there is someplace where my friends and I could take a rest...We are all very tired." The crew member nodded and opened a small door leading down into the sleeping quarters.

It wasn't Airy's first kiss, and neither was it the first time he kissed Scamps, but this time there was something very special about it. It felt even more passionate, more wonderful, more... intimate. And there was one thing coming in Airy's mind, one thing he never had had the courage to even consider doing. He openes his mouth and gently touched Scamps' lips with his.tongue

They all rowed back to the main ship and climbed on. The crew offered them food, water, and places to sleep. It was wonderful! The ship sailed towards Canterlot. From there they could take a train back home.

 

Moonbeam yawned. "It's going to be a long trip. Let's go take a nap, Firecracker," she said, holding his hoof.

Stacy yawned as she went over to Spark, just to talk. "Hey..." She began trying to think of something to say. She watched as they reached the large ship. "So...interesting night." She said trying to make some conversation even if it was for a minute or two. Her mind was starting to grow bored again and she thought talking to Spark would be a good way to occupie it.
