I'm eager to see what you all are talking about here and to contribute my fanart for the show to catch up I'm going to post all of my works that Ive completed so far, later Ill update you all with new paintings as they come out at a more reasonable pace Ponyville: Wow that is seriously amazing... and might I add it is the first "non-digital"painting I've seen of the show. So well done good sir! I think Oil painting is freakin' hard, so yeah, you win... keep making more.
Tridgeon 72 December 8, 2012 Author Share December 8, 2012 (edited) Canterlot: The breezy city of Canterlot, this was the second major painting that I completed for My Little Ponythe architecture was so much fun to recreate, the interplay between the solar and stellar themes is just awesome Edited December 8, 2012 by Tridgeon 6 Deviantart Facebook Etsy MLP Oil on Canvas paintings, prints and commissions

Tridgeon 72 December 8, 2012 Author Share December 8, 2012 (edited) Dodge Junction heres a smaller painting that I did as a break after those two, as you can see Im balking at painting ponies themselves still, landscapes are so much easier Wet and Cool Dash: and so I experiment with ponies! who would have thought that such simple flexible designs were so hard to learn how to accurately depict in art? but who cares they are a ton of fun to paint. Also notice that at this point I'm still going by "Dashyy" Schoolhouse Heres a more impressionistic painting of the schoolhouse! I went through soo much paint making this one, but it was worth it Edited December 8, 2012 by Tridgeon 7 Deviantart Facebook Etsy MLP Oil on Canvas paintings, prints and commissions
Jammo 986 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 Van Gough was an early Brony by the way. The Internet didn't exist to make him aware that there were others and he sunk into a sea of self-destruction. If only he knew, then his ear would have been spared and he wouldn't have shot himself in the chest with a Winchester.
Tridgeon 72 December 8, 2012 Author Share December 8, 2012 (edited) Daring Sunset: Up until this point Ive based my paintings basically straight off the show (wet and cool dash is all me but the other three are done straight off of screenshots) However this one is still one of my favorites. I based this off of the frame right before daring do runs off out of the sunset The Standard Model: I saw The Standard Model by So Great and Powerful in the Airport and I just HAD to paint this, as I alluded to earlier, ponies are friggin hard and this was a lot of good practicethis is a series of six paintings that together show how the Mane six earned their cutie-marks Zap Apple Night: This painting was a lot of fun to paint, I threw the paint onto the background (to the horror of the wall behind it) to make the starsthrowing paint is fun! The Southern Birds I just loved this scene were Ditsy comes back with the southern birds, anyone else notice that shes got the same cutiemark as Derpy? I sense a sister that the fanfic community hasn't written about Canterlot Night More throwing paint at the canvas! I really destroyed the wall this time, the night sky is just so much fun to paint! The Elements of Harmony The Standard Model was so popular that I had a request from someone else for me to paint it again, except without the lettersI changed a few things in it to try out some new things some hit some miss, I have a hard time figuring out which one I like more Nightmare Moon I was invited to talk on the Brony Show! it was a ton of fun! while I was being interviewed I painted this at D-Pad's request, that mane was a TON of fun to paint too Dashing Impressions Heres a quickie, Rainbow Dash snoozing on a cloud. I wanted to do something quick and easy so I made it very impressionistic I love the movement you can get out of this art style, with the thick strokes and bright colors Great and Powerful This was a study in how to paint a pony in a larger painting, so the pose is based directly off of a scene in the show, I think it turned out rather well, and with Trixie in it its a surefire way to get in the EQD drawfriend! My World This painting was HUGE, 40" tall and a blast to put together, its based off of TheInexplicableBrony's comic "Friendship Update"wheeee astronomy! Tridgeon 72 December 8, 2012 Author Share December 8, 2012 Nightmare Night Before Christmas This is a rather small painting, but the commissioner had a great idea. Tacit Moon 100 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 Awesome job my friend. I can't imagine how long all these must have taken you. They are all fantastic works. Your scenery is excellent. I'd LOVE to see something with a large number of ponies in it. Absolutely keep them coming!
Tridgeon 72 December 8, 2012 Author Share December 8, 2012 Eventide Sunset In this commission I experiment with using a pallet knife to paint, I love the textures that you can get with using the knife though the very dynamic lighting poses a challenge in having the ponies show up against such a backdrop, I think I managed nicelymaybe experimenting with commissions isn't the best idea... but its just too much fun to try something new Dashing though Cloudsdale Heres my most recent painting, Rainbow Dash flying through Cloudsdale, getting her to pop against a blue sky is rather difficult, shes got the best camouflage aside from her prismatic mane pshew theres a lot of those now... anyway, I hope that you enjoy them, I sell prints of a few of these on Etsy and you can find me on Deviantart and Facebook 6 Deviantart Facebook Etsy MLP Oil on Canvas paintings, prints and commissions

Tridgeon 72 December 8, 2012 Author Share December 8, 2012 Do you have any of these for sale or are they all just commissions? If so how much would something like this cost? Do you have a DA account? I have links listed in my profile for my DA page, FB page, and Etsy store. I mostly sell at conventions, but I have prints online and I take commissions sometimes. PM me or find me on DA if you're interested. By the way, I know the rules on this forum don't allow me to directly advertise things as for sale, but I can list links on my signatures. I feel like an idiot, but I can't figure out how to edit my signature. Anyway, thank you all for the kind words. I'll keep posting as I keep painting! 1 Deviantart Facebook Etsy MLP Oil on Canvas paintings, prints and commissions

Blindsight 144 December 9, 2012 Share December 9, 2012 Your paintings have so much life to them! I don't think I've ever seen anyone draw Ponyville in such detail, or Sweet Apple Acres, or the Canterlot Castle. They make me feel as if I were there, too. You have incredible talent, so keep up the good work! 2 { art thread } { deviantArt }
