I gotta be a minority here not liking anime. I can absolutely see the anime influences in MLP:FIM. That's cool, but that is all the anime-ness I can take.

 

Every time I watch an anime more than 10 minutes, I get a headache.

 

I swear it must be all the mercury from all the seafood the Japanese eat. I still love them though. (squee)

 

Maybe you just didn't find one that fits your tastes yet? Or is it the japanese voices? Those can get annoying even for me if I haven't watched anime for a while.

There are 1000s of anime series out there ~ and only 1 pony series (eh, ok. Not true. But... Only 1 I like. ). I personally think that most people can like SOME sort of anime, depending on their tastes. It ranges *so* much with each generation, each animation company, each genre... 

 

I like some old school stuff (80s~90s), and most of the modern is too weirdly paced for me (and feels like its all been done before).

Well, I'm used to some older OAVs or movies-- where there were some pretty dynamic storylines but not very long. So, it's hard for me to watch TV series. There are so many that I wanted to like, but I don't think I have the attention span for TV series. (Except for those which don't have to be watched in a row). I probably just have a short attention span. I just try to watch some new stuff, and I can't sit down and watch. I get so bored~

Oh, that! I must agree with you again, then. Some series are just unreasonably long and a stretched-out storyline can ruin a whole anime for me. Anime movies are truly the best, followed by short series and OVAs. Talking about anime movies, I recommend you  watch A letter to Momo, it's rather new and really good (at least imo).

Thanks! I will definitely check that out~ I think that's the other problem I have now, there are just *so* many things out there, it's hard for me to figure out what I'll like.

Then another thing I'd like to recommend is MyAnimeList! You can see how many episodes you watched so far in a series, what animes you've seen, look at reviews and recommendations. So if you like an anime, you can just look at its recommendations and you're pretty sure to find something similar. I'd be so lost without that website, oh god. I wouldn't watch so many animes at the same time either, but oh well.

I honestly like them both

My favorite Anime would have to be either FLCL (Fooly Cooly) or Vandread

I like FLCL because it is just so much mind rape yet it is so hilarious and Vandread because of its concept of teamwork and the awesome mechs in it

 

 

 

My favorite pony would have to be Princess Luna for sure

I have always loved Luna for her adorableness/awesomeness however, that liking has grown upon learning that not only is she the Princess of the Night, but she is the protector of Dreams as well

Oh my, this is such a hard choice because I love ponies and anime so much. While My Little Pony is easily my biggest interest right now as far as what I watch I’ve seen some animes that I am totally in love with. Like Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom. This is such a hard call for me and I’ll begrudgingly choose ponies, not because I don’t love ponies but because I just love anime that much.

In general, I prefer western animation over anime but that wasn't always the case. I just can't stand a lot of that moe/harem stuff that just keeps popping-up, and it's not that I can't enjoy it. Just get's old real quick...

I must confess, i really don't like anime, i used to like it, but not anymore, so the awnser would be an easy "Ponies" for me.

Western over eastern any day for me.

I like 'em both. They are both pretty darn cool and Pokemon is awesome. Almost as much as ponies. Yu-Gi-Oh is nice too. I can't really decide.

Both are great, I am a fan of such known animes like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tenchi Muyo, Dragon Ball,Z,Gt, naruto, Code Geass, Naruto, Hetalia, Azumanga Daioh, Full Metal Panic. (the list really does go on)

 

Honestly, I think the two can coexist together. ^^

Well I don't really watch anime all that often, I'll only watch when I find one that seems absolutely amazing. In my opinion MLP wins this hands down. But I agree with what others are saying, you really can't compare the two all that easily.

Right now I am more into MLP than I am into anime, but my favorite series remains One Piece. I don't see why we have to choose. I enjoy all kinds of animation, there's no need to limit oneself.

In general, Anime. It's a lot broader of a range--you can see many different things, get a feel for different characters. But I like Ponies more than, let's say, Naruto, Bleach and a few other outstanding anime. 

But on a scale of 1-ponies; I'd have to give Anime the charge because I like a lot of Anime. For example, it's hard to compare FiM to Monster; or to Initial D--things are different. I don't know WHY there's even a discussion on Anime v. Ponies--it's like having an argument about apples or oranges. Both taste good, why compete?

I'm much more active in the brony community than the anime community.

 

So I guess I like ponies more.

i have to go with anime on this one. for one reason there are thousands of anime but only one my little ponys(you know what i mean) i will pick ponys over a show like Naruto  or one peace  but anime if its like Steins;gate or fate/zero

but anime is over 100000 show MLP is one , how the fight will go the best anime VS the best of pony or the over all of anime VS the overall of pony (that mean G3 to think of ... the horror .. the horror)

for me a make a list of My to 20 Anime ever but if i put cartoons (non Japaneses cartoon in it) MLP will be high in the list with avatar and tom and Jerry

but most anime about mature dark bloody and sexual things

MLP is cute

and even that i like MLP a lot it hard to say i like it more thin something a grow up with

I've seen art of ponies in anime. Honestly, I like anime a lot. But I like ponies more. This doesn't mean I completely despise anime. I watch anime from time to time. I find it interesting. I just watch MLP more.
