planning Lillian wants to start a new RP

No RPs in this forum either don't interest or they are already full. So, I was hoping to get some newer ideas.

 

 

Nothing ALL about romance. It's like the most interesting thing here is romance, and I was only hoping to get something that doesn't have a plot all about love. And, I sort of would like an idea that there won't be a plot based on an already existing episode of MLP. For example, I don't really want another 'Nightmare Moon comes back and the Mane 6 have to defeat her all over again' thing. At least make it a different team of ponies that have to defeat her. And I would appreciate an idea that could keep the RP going with no stop. So, say we had a changling idea. Well, after we defeat them, what's going to happen next? Sorry about all the strict instructions, it just that I am sick of seeing these used over and over and over and over again, in every forum I joined.

 

 

Now that's over, feel free to throw some ideas at me.

I understand what you mean. Nothing is pure romance, and that seems to be a lot of what's going on here lately. I participate in them, yeah, but that's mostly because the possibility of me having something like that IRL is laughable. 

 

Okay, enough self-pity, Descant.

 

The most fun I've had roleplaying so far has to have been in the SS Romantic, which is basically a, well, romantic RP that ends up being a Titanic Scenario, where the ship sinks and everypony escapes and is stranded on a volcanic island for several days. Its prequel, Camping Trip, was similarly exciting. We're planning on making a threequel, which will either be a Road Trip, a Circus or a Carnival (I'm still a little confused on that) and you'd be more than welcome to join. 

 

But basically, what I'm trying to say is, romantic isn't that bad if you include plot. Like, major plot devices to twist everything around, like how everypony was foalnapped by rival zebra tribes on the island. So... It can be romantically themed, but include concepts of adventure roleplays, or action roleplays. Not to mention it's successful. We just reached 1500 posts.

 

I'm posting this here, in part, because you sound like you know what you're talking about. And I want to see what kind of RP you end up making. I'll help if I can.

Thanks, but I think that was the point. A bit of romance is ok with me but I've been seeing over-board lately. Dates, collage romance, random stuff, you know? And how can I role-play romance with someone I've never even spoken to? I was planning romance RPs later once I get to know more people, but for now, it's minor romance RP. Thanks for your opinions though.

REally depends where you want to go.....middle ground or flat out Grimdark. Frankly there was a Fanfic called Harbinger that I thought would be one hell of an Rp if the writer would allow it. I mean its freking amazing. Its written by Phasingirl and you can find it on Diviant Art and Fimfics. Anyway, theres my two cents.

That makes perfect sense to me. I just thought I'd add in that little tidbit. Anyhoo... You're right, there have been entirely too many 'Romantic House Parties' and the like lately. Now we're getting into seasonal romances. I can see where that might put off newer members...

 

As for getting to know people... You could always read through previous RPs. Besides, many of us aren't ourselves in the RPs anyway. We're our OC through and through. And you always get the chance to read up on an OC before you start a RP. 

 

All the same, I'll lurk around on this post, and chuck out my opinion when the opportunity arises. Or, you could just say, 'go away, Descant', and I will.

If you're interested in D&D, I'm planning on starting a roleplay you might like. I tend to run my stories episodically so that they can go on indefinitely, and romance might be a part of it, but certainly not a main focus. I haven't posted much detail yet, but I will soon.

I was thinking of having an RP set in the future with the Mane 6. Most of them have split apart, and are living different lives now. But somehow they are put in a situation where they come back together again. And they have grudges against each other, and such. Maybe one of them died or something. 

Kinda vague, I know. But I've been thinking about doing an RP based on that, or a fanfic or something.

Well, I am thinking of... Kind of living life/sending letters to Princess Celestia/little of romance etc.

Kind of, sometimes a bad guy appears and we have to defeat him/her and then we keep life on. Like an everyday adventure.

There is no Mane-six because we live in FillyDelphia! Time is... Present.

Ok, another time idea. This is a tough one. Somehow, I still love time ideas. Uh, anymore ideas or help?

 

 

As for living a normal life, I'm not sure. It sounds boring to me right now.

I have an unfinished fanfic where there's a new baddie who teams up with the changelings and effects a takeover of Equestria. Maybe something like that? Not Discord, not Nightmare Moon... but an entirely new enemy who operated centuries ago, was defeated by the Princesses and is now back!

 

I also like the idea of basing the RP in another pony town other than Ponyville. My fanfic is based in Trottingham; I did this so as to concentrate the story on my OCs' actions... tho the mane six do appear later on, the bulk of the story is on OCs.

 

I have to say; I agree with you on the romance thing. I hate to seem like a spoilsport, but to me an RP that's based solely on romance is a little boring. I don't mind a say, action RP, that has romantic elements included, but I'm a grown woman and I think I've grown out of the whole teenagy "kiss kiss tee hee" thing. Each to their own... I'm not about to get snotty about romance RPs or anything, I just won't join them. I just prefer ones with a more stable and worked out plot, personally.

New idea! Anyone like the idea of a future protection force? That fills in action, maybe quests for the adventure, my thirst for something in a different time and a long lasting RP, plus we can add the idea of new enemies since it's in the future. Anyone like it? If not, we can go with another idea.

A little note. If I don't reply, it usually means one of two things. I'm either not online or there isn't anything worth to reply back with. Also, if we reach 5 brohoofs, we can start thinking on details and 10 brohoofs is the 'we gotta start the RP now' plan.

here is the plot: It's a shining summer afternoon in ponyville and everypony is busy and working. The crusaders are wandering the everfree forest looking for their cutie marks. The crusaders run into a canival, they find a creepy pony. The main six starts to look for the crusaders but they can't find them. Find out what happened to the crusaders! (oc are welcome)

here is her backstory:

Catherine was born into a wealthy family.Her parents tried? to marry her off to a young suitor of another family. Catherine did not want this, she loved a young colt who worked at a theme park. The colt she loved was silent and strong like big mac.She gave up everything she had to run away with the stallion she loved before her parents married her off. She met him at the park and they agreed to go on the Ferris wheel one last time.However a stray cat bumped the controls and caused a malfunction

 

the malfunction made the Ferris wheel go arwy and the accident killed her lover. Catherine, blinded? with grief, sought out dark magics and an ancient relic to try and revive him, but she failed miserably with the ritual. Instead of bring back her lover she summoned forth a disguising black sludge from his corpse. The abomination still had some of the qualities of her lover and was loyal to her. By this time Catherine had become completely insane she could not turn back and had lost everything.

 

She returned to the carnival where her love had died.She blamed herself for his death which is why she believes herself to be a cat, the literal cause of the accident that killed him. Her obsession with carnivals,? marriage, and big mac are all part of her past subconsciously manifesting in her minds eye. Her relationship with the sludge is a mixture of guilt, love and disgust.

If I may spit some more ideas. You can make the protection force divided in some division or team, and put some conspiracy on it. Maybe the leader of division A has a personal "thing" with the leader of division B, or division A wants to be the best with some cunning plans.

 

Another way is to make an enemy, but too frontal isn't it? My alternative is to set some RPers as a kind of sell sword or mercenary, freelancer, bandit, pirates, etc. I don't mind to join the freelancer side. I have an OC for that kind of roleplay (The savvy and sly one on my flag).
