Not sure if you guys know, but this is the first "Dear Princess Celestia" of this season :P

But Pinkie Pie wrote a friendship letter at the end of "Too Many Pinkie Pies". Why does almost everyone forget about that one?

Horseapples! Just checked - you are right!

I couldn't remember it either, but yes - that's definitively a freindship-letter; with Spike writing it down and everythings... Looks like there is at least one big screw up in my review now

Okay, so I didn't read every single one of the posts on this topic 100% so I'm not completely certain if this subject hasn't been tackled yet.

Granny Smith mentions that the Apple family reunion is hosted every 100 moons, right? Assuming that by "moons" she means months, the event is held roughly every 8 years. Now, I'm not completely sure about this either, but has there ever been a mention on the show about how long the events since the beginning of the show up until now have taken? Many fan fictions and as far as I've heard it several people assume that it has been around two years(?) since the return of Nightmare Moon. Still, in the very first episode, there are a lot of Apples around the farm and later in episode four, when Twilight questions Applejack about why all of those relatives aren't helping her during applebuck season, AJ mentions that they were there for the Apple family reunion...

Conclusion: Instead of the assumed two years, Twilight has been living in Ponyville for almost eight and a half years! Now where did all that time go? :D Share your opinions about this.

Other stuff about the episode: I LOVED IT! Applejack is my favourite pony right after Twilight and it was about time she got another episode entirely for herself. And she had a song!! The song was awesome! Also the lesson of the episode was a very good one in my opinion.

Credit for the amazing signature goes to the equally amazing Iridian! Thank you :3

Maybe they have smaller reunions every year or so with the more local families? They have the big advent ever few years and in between them the ponies who live closer get together and have a good old time!

Wait, really? Whatever it was, I don't remember it. Guess that says enough about whatever that ending must have been like!

Anyway, I thought this was another good addition to Season 3. I don't usually like the songs either, but Ashleigh Ball does some nice vocals, and the instrumentation itself is pretty nice, so I was impressed.

Either "moons" are much shorter in Equestria or they've made a major plot hole!  :D Considering how they could treat MLP:FiM as a kiddie show where nobody closely watches the details, this show could easily be full of them.  All in all, I give the writers and director credit for keeping a strong sense of consistency and continuity.  A major family reunion every two years sounds like it's WAY too often.  But seeing how the Apple family is, it wouldn't surprise me.  And the CMC's look like they've only aged a couple years, although Apple Bloom looked and sounded WAY younger in the pilot than she does in any other episode.

Hmm, maybe that was just a smaller reunion? Ponies like Braeburn probably couldn't come that time around. Perhaps it was just the ones nearer by. The fact that a lot of them have similar accents implies that a large number of them live around the same area.

Even though Season 3 has been my fav season I felt that apple family reunion was my least fav of this season. I love all the Mane 6 and have loved the way this season has tried to give character growth but I felt this episode kinda feel somewhat flat with that goal. After watching this episode  I couldn't help feel that this episode was similar to "Applebuck Season" applejack in this episode tried too hard to do everything by herself while in apple family reunion she tried too hard to please everyone.

I loved that applejack had her own song even though the song was okay. I thought that Filly applejack was so cute  . It was great to see Clestia finally getting a letter. I loved the background ponies and was happy to see them bring back Bab's and braeburn though I wish they would have had them talk more, all we know about bab's is that she's in a new school and met some more blank-flanks while braeburn didn't get to talk at all :( In the end the episode was my least fav of season 3 though that could have changed if applejacks problem wasn't too similar to "Applebuck Season".

I'm a very friendly person and i always try to be there for people and make them smile no matter how long and how hard i have to try so when anyone's feeling down send me PM, Nothing makes me happier then being there for someone

I'd love to see more Filly Applejack! My only disappointment in this episode was that the episode's premise was too much like "Applebuck Season." I know the writers may never get to elaborate on what happened to Applejack's parents  but there is a part of me badly wanting to know.

Brace yourselves my friends. This one is gonna hit you like a brick wall. Have tissue ready if you're extremely sensitive to touchy stuff.

Oh my God, I saw it for the first time just now and it felt like my sad nerve was smacked by a steel bat with spikes. I got so choked up, I fought the feels, and almost lost.

Just going to add a few pics from the Raise this Barn scene that I found quite humorous.

Hello there Cloudchaser, Bon Bon, and Carrot Top(I think that is her name). Didn't know you were part of the apple family.

I gotta say, I LOVE your avatar. Is there a higher res image of it that I may be able to steal? :P

I think this is the toughest topic ever put in to MLP history. It hits really close to home with so many people. Even though it's so so sad, it's probably one of the best little things they've ever done or ever could do.

I tell yah, I've never been so heavily affected by something from a cartoon as this. Oh well, it makes me all the more interested in AJ. Just, what did happen to her parents, anyways.....
