Granted. You get half a dozen spiky balls, each the size of a large grape. They appeared in your stomach. You feel them all them time.
I nick your wallet as you writhe in agony. It will take about seven years for them to pass through your system one by one. The end will be just as horrific. You get to live a long life. Your legend will forever make those who hear it the first time wince in sympathy.

You go to Hell, but the Dark Lord just gives you a stool and has you sit in the corner (which is technically the nicest thing that can be done in the Pit of Eternal Unholy Nastiness). You never get over the horror.
