Even if it didn't light the wood on fire directly, it would heat the wood to a high enough temperature that it would probably ignite anyway. At any rate, anything inside the ship would be roasted.

Oh, if just one gallon of Greek fire managed to hit anywhere on the hull of any of the ships, the whole ship will be down within the hour if it's not put out fast. As I said before, it sticks to everything, it floats on water and keeps burning, and everything it touches is immediately ignited. It also burns for a very long time. I'm not sure how long but I've heard hours...

 

The only way you can stop it is if you remove it's oxygen supply. Then it will stop combusting and will turn into a smoldering pile of goo. Good luck figuring out how because the whole of the Ottoman empire couldn't figure out how to do it.

I don't see this greek fire being very fair. It can destroy everything wooden (AKA the whole ship) including the ship that is reinforced with metal. It doesn't matter if you are faster or have bigger guns, you get a single drop on your ship (on the outside) where you can't put it out with water... oh wait, that's right, YOU CAN'T PUT IT OUT WITH WATER. Your dead.

The Greek fire only has a range of 15 meters (50 ft) well within range of our cannons, his ship is small and won't take that many cannonballs to take out, and I'm sure a creative pegasus or a unicorn could figure out how to take out the oxygen supply as I've said I think three times now...

A single drop wouldn't do it.

And it cant shoot as far as a cannon.

Every ship has its specialty. Krystal's can outrun any of ours. Nightfall's could blow us all to bits and pieces, And so on.

First you admit the good parts about it, and then you try and deny its overpowered ness by shoving bad things about it into the discussion. Final Product: Overpowered. You also aren't including the fact that her ship has more than just greek fire.

*sigh* fine. How about this: we have Flame Dancer lay out everything that his ship's got and then we can pick out what he can't have. So far, I like the Greek Fire and hooks but what else does he have? Oh yeah, his hooks have the same range as his fire. Plus his cannonballs would be as effective as throwing pebbles at the Bulwark. So you can just keep fire shots at him to keep him at bay so he doesn't get too close.

 

What I like about Flame Dancer's ship is that it's only devastating if you let it be. If your wits are in the right place, you can counteract everything he's got.

Right now all I have in mind are the hooks, Greek fire, Cannon balls that can be lit On fire, and grappling hooks we can shoot out of the cannon's...Thats all I got in mind.

So speed wise, the ships rank up like this:

Sea Peregrine

Asylum

Arbitrator

Black Abyss

Bulwark

Bulwark is at the bottom... why? Other than armor (if its not as good as you say, then its not that heavy. CANNON's are heavy) it's essentially light since it doesn't have two rows of cannons, and a load of free cargo space.

 

And firepower wise, they rank up like this:

Arbitrator (But just barely better than the...)

Black Abyss

Bulwark tied with Sea Peregrine

Asylum (not counting for his gadgets and Greek fire)

__________________________________________

Bulwark, technically at the bottom again since the Asylum has greek fire and gadgets.

 

And Armor wise, they rank up like this:

Bulwark

Black Abyss (but just barely better than the...)

Arbitrator

Sea Peregrine

Asylum

Armor doesn't matter when your enemies can blast/roast you.

 

Lets put this contest into a point system ranking highest (best) to lowest (worst)

 

Arbitrator: 10 

Sea Peregrine: 9

Asylum: 9

Black Abyss: 9

Bulwark: 7 (Since Bulwark is at the bottom of firepower)

 

And so we see it, Bulwark is one word; Bad.

... Well you sure have a much cooler explanation for your mark than I do. I just saw the "O" in the Halo symbol and thought it looked cool so I smoothed it out and made something up about how it means something :P

 

Anyway, you're in as the First Mate on the Bulwark (Please keep an eye on the captain. I have a feeling he won't be in the best of moods ;) )

You get the Greek fire and the hooks which you shoot out of your cannons. Your hooks still pretty much have the same range as your Greek fire, maybe a liiittle more. If there's anything else you want to add, you can ask me in either PM or on this OOC thread.

 

To your sword idea: no. It doesn't seem that useful and I have a feeling Ponyworld isn't liking all the stuff you're getting anyway...

Honestly, i don't see how i could change the Bulwark without changing with perk completely. It has cargo space, armor, but only one row of cannons, and if i get more, i don't get cargo space, and then i only get armor, and that's still not very much. According to Krystal, its thin, but then according to Krystal, its armor strong enough to slow down cannon balls... ?

I find that rather silly considering I chose the ship with the most gadgets, But its ok.

 

And its not like I am going to have Slicer go around and destroy everyone's ship's In fact I kinda hope I wont have to destroy anyone's ships.

I mean, I would just say hey look there is a ship that doesn't belong to any RPer's I am going to take it down. I think Pwd needs to relax and understand we are all friends here and no one is going to be Destroying anyone...Well, Slicer wont unless he needs too.

I do not beg. I simply don't like that you doubt my abilities as a roleplayer such that you won't allow me to be a first mate even when there's no-one else to do it. Frankly, with all due respect, I've been roleplaying since you were just an itch in your father's pants.

 

Anyway, go ahead and make her the first mate, I just want to get this started.

I was assuming you had a full load of supplies and booty. I guess if you were empty other than cannons then you'd be faster than the Abyss. And your armor does weigh quite a bit. Do you know how much it takes to stop a cannonball? A lot. Your armor doesn't even do that but it does enough to slow it down yet it remains rigid enough to support the hull even after it is shot through.

 

Bulwark, technically at the bottom again since the Asylum has greek fire and gadgets.

Asylum only wins if it get's withing range. Plus so far the only gadget it has is the hooks which you could easily cut off. And there IS a way to put out the fire. You've just got to figure it out...

 

Armor doesn't matter when your enemies can blast/roast you.

It does matter since you can outlast the flames longer than anypony else. Your ship will sink before it gets hot enough inside to kill anyone so it'll only feal really hot during the siege.

 

 

Arbitrator: 10 

Sea Peregrine: 9

Asylum: 9

Black Abyss: 9

Bulwark: 7

The Arbitrator is supposed to win in a one on one battle. It can decimate anything in the sea. But if we all band together...

 

I would tie the four pirate ships at a draw since they all have their advantages. The Sea Peregrine can run away to safety or stay agile and follow up with quick repetitive strikes, the Asylum is devastating in close quarters, the Black Abyss can slowly pick you off at long range and blow huge holes in you if you get closer, and the Bulwark can thwart all cannonballs completely at range and absorb most of the impact if you get a little closer. So just don't get too close to the Asylum or you're done for, in fact, we'd all be. That is, of course, if you aren't innovative enough to figure out to counteract what he's got to dish out. I've already though up some things and I'm sure the other captains have too...
