[Marathon 562]

Lila pondered the name but didnt ask about it. She appreciated his comments and lightly kissed him on the cheek, they meant a lot to her. She rested her head on his should, sad eyes looking out at the fish swimming in the pond. Then closed them to take a short nap to get some more energy for the rest of the party.

A confused look on his face now, Dusk tilted his head the mare on the bench, then looked back at Star. He mouthed to her - "What ju-" then shook his head. Laughed in confusion and sat down close beside Star. Not realising just how close he was. He teased at the water with his hoof, shuddering at the cold. He watched as the fish parted each time his hoof broke the surface, and then swam back again when he retracted. 

 

As if suddenly realising what it was that Star had said to him, he perked up and looked at her, "You really think so?" his coat rippled diagonally from his flank to his mouth - just once - showing a dark rainbow of all the colours from before. This time however it was not in fear or panic, it was in joy and happiness.

 

((OOC: Last for me too, hopefully i'll be back quicker than last time))

Star Rain felt his side touch hers, and she moved half an inch away. Hearing his response to her compliment, she replied,"What? You didn't know that at all? That's a pleasant surprising!" She didn't notice that she had let her hooves fall back into the water and that the fish were coming back!

Leaf had imaged what the story would be like in his head. It was indeed sad. But Leaf didn't want to cry where everyone would see him! His mother was violent and his father was killed. He didn't seem to know which story was sadder... his or Silver's... "So, you wanna go somewhere else or stay here?" asked Leaf, getting a bit closer to her.

 

Silver sighed and leaned into him a bit resting on his shoulder, she was grateful that he didn't want to know further details for she did remember everything it was just painful to talk about. " It doesn't matter, as long as I'm with you I don't really care where I'm at.. As long as we aren't surrounded by too many ponies" she giggled at this but she still felt the painful memories threading to spill out. She looked at Leaf wondering where he would take her next.

Dusk just chuckled "Nope, I dont think I can remember the last time I made someone laugh, I dont normally talk to many ponies" he said as he lay his head down on his forelegs. The instant his chin hit his legs, his stomach rumbled hungrily, causing him to go bright red in the face - "Oh uh...I guess im hungry?" He hadn't really thought much about getting food during the party so far, the only thing he could focus on was trying to keep his heart rate steady and not making a foal of himself again.

@, Marisa shook her head and smiled, "No, its fine. In fact, it might be better to talk with somepony for a little while. Wanna sit down?" he offered and patted a spot on the bench next to her. She put her notepad down on her lap and her pencil rested between her ear and head.

Rain smiled and held Lila close. He kissed her on the top of her head, Then he looked at the rest of the ponies surrounding the pond.

There were the two ponies he had met before...The ones who kept staring. There was a purple unicorn talking to another white unicorn. there was...A giant...Thing ? He looked at the large being, Sitting on a small bench. *I wonder who that is.* He thought, Looking back at Lila.

@, "As a living. (I want to say she likes horseback riding, but they don't have that...) But sometimes I go to things like this to get inspiration, or just to take a break. My mind gets stressed after too much writing. So why are you here? Just to have fun I'm guessing?" she said while checking her notes.

Spotting a stallion on a bench, Earth Opal approached and sat down on the other side of the bench, leaning back on his hooves. "Aye, I see I'm not the only one not doing anything at the party," he began, observing the area around them, stretching his shoulders to make them more comfortable. "I saw that mare walk away from you. What exactly happened?"

 

((OOC: Before you get on any false ideas, I'm just making conversation to pass time, so I can observe and wait for a post that signifies somepony isn't already cuddling with another pony.))

Diamond shrugged. "Eve and I have known each other for some time now...And I still have never been to one of her garden parties. So I decided I would come. That and I am finding running my tea shop very stressful. Customers almost feel like they are getting more rude every time they visit." She said.

"I guess you're like me then," Star Rain said in a lowered tone. "Used to be I was the one always getting laughed at. Nopony wanted to hang out with the strange, dorky unicorn who spent a lot of her time casting spells, drawing pictures, and studying encyclopedias instead of partying..." she said, somewhere in her speech hinting at a grudge that she had been holding ever since her third year in school. All a sudden, she heard a grumbling sound next to her. She giggled and said,"Alright, let's go find some food!"

"Oh, so you run a tea shop. That's cool, I'll have to visit some time. I'm trying to write a story about a zompony masquerade, or maybe have a parasite instead of zomponies. Its strange, but I'm sure I can think of something to make this story work. Also, some ponies drink tea to calm down, maybe they are just frustrated and mad, and they are coming in for tea to calm down and relieve some stress?"

Diamond smiled. "I have always enjoyed a good book...I will stop by the book store and pick up one of your stories." She said.

She listened to what else Marisa had to say, Then she nodded. "That's true...I wish they could let the tea do its work before getting all angry at me. I guess I have been drinking so much tea the stress relieving part of it doesn't work for me." She giggled and looked over at the pond.

Do you want anything?" she asked Rain with a cherry voice. She had forgotten about the plants and stuff that had happened earlier.

"Hey now, there's nothing wrong with doing something that you enjoy doing is there?" Dusk asked with a tone of understanding in his voice. "You just have to ignore ponies when they're laughing at you, it's only because you're better than them..." he looked away at the end of his sentence "...I wish somepony would have told me that." He mumbled to himself "And besides, at least you can do magic!" as he spoke, he looked up at Stars horn, and then up to his own forehead "It's a gift you know, they're probably only jealous because they can't do it themselves...I know I am" he nudged her jokingly with a chuckle. "Anyway!" he stood up, a sudden energy in his voice "yes, food would be nice" he continued, offering a smile and a hoof to help Star up.

Eve glared daggers at Diamond before trotting cooly away from her towards the stallion who was steaming at the ears. Eh. She could never truly be mad at Diamond. They'd known each other far too long. And Diamond knew that fact far too well. She could read Eve like a book, that one.

 

She approached the stallion hesitantly, as he didn't look in the best of moods. Her eyes scanned his body hesitantly, and quickly, lingering slightly in his eyes before hers darted away, embarrased. "H-hello," she said so softly he would have to strain his ears to hear. "I'm Evergreen..."

 

He spun quickly and saw a mare who looked shy.

"Hey. I'm Nightfall. I'm assuming you're the mare running this party..? Or do you just happen to have the same name as her?"

His mood lightened a little bit.

 

((OOC: I won't be on much until my first set of grades comes in, and even then I may not be on as much as I was before. Please, just be patient with me.))

Scamps closed her eyes as Somber hugged her. She could fel that he felt she was innocent, that he thought she hadn't done anything wrong. For a moment, the guilr came off her shoulders. "So...what's your lif ebeen like?" She asked, trying to not seem so absorbed by him. She wasn't sure how she felt towards him...maybe a friend, maybe something more.....she hadn't had a good friend in so long, not a coltfriend. And then she remembered another pony; Goldseek. "Oh my gosh...." She stammered. "I just remembered...I left somepony back in the garden...Is it okay if we walk-and-talk? If that's okay with you...I mean..."

Her eyes flitted to meet his once again as she spoke, but retreated to their previous gaze just as quickly. It was almost like she was afraid he'd bite her if she looked at him for more than a second or two at a time.

That was odd... Scamps seemed a lot more... Shyer than Somber was. And Somber was PRETTY shy... 

 

"Uh.. Sure. We can walk and talk if you like...", he meekly said, starting to trot slowly. "Uh... Well... My life has been pretty much the same... Nothing exciting... What about you?", he asked Scamps, his voice a little softer than normal.

"Pretty boring, I guess... " she mumbled. "I haven't done much lately, not since....yeah," she said, trying to avoid the topic. She looked down for the rest of the walk, until finally, she saw Goldseek. She trotted over to him. "Hey, Gpldseek!" She said somewhat cheerily, trying not to look depressed. "I want you to meet my friend, Somber." She then turned to Somber. "Somber, this is Goldseek."

Silver watched him fly up, thinking she had done something wrong.. She's never felt this way about any pony before.. " oh dear, I hope he doesn't think I'm stupid" she accidentally said that aloud. She giggled at this and put her hooves in the pond letting the fish nibble at them.. " I do hope he comes back" she thought " he's the only one I'm at Lear comfortable around".. And she closed her eyes and started humming.
