When she passed him, he squeezed his eyes shut in annoyance at himself. You're trying too hard! - Thinking to himself - just be yourself...you know what happened last time. He swallowed, sighed silently and trotted to catch up to Star "I'm sorry, I didn't realise -" he cut himself off when he looked at Star, and smiled for real once more - He was too comfortable around this mare he just met, what was it about her that calmed him so? He admired the scenery around him as they walked on, watching the plants look over to him, and turn away when they noticed him looking back. It was at this point he saw a white coated mare sitting on a bench - "Aww, she looks lonely" he hinted at Star in his usual short attention span way.

Diamond put her hoof back on the ground. "Ummm...Ok." She said, Looking back at Eve. "Anyway, How are you Eve ?" She asked, Smiling.

 

Rain watched Lila walk off through the hedge's with a rather sad look. He turned around and started walking back in the direction of pond.

"I would love to do a dempstration but....I, um...." Scamps said, both awkward and trying to think of an excuse not to do magic. She may be good at it, but ponies didn't really see a point in being good at it. Not when you' re a pegasus doing slight-of-hoof. Finally, she thought of an excuse. "I don't have any props with me!" She exclaimed. "I should probably find Goldseek now...." She then turned around and began to run. She was afriad....of fire, of other ponie, of hurting other ponies....She just had so mucj fear.She aslo closed her eyes while thinking, which caused her to run into Somber Tones, a pony she had met with breifly before. "Oh, um, hi, Somber. Sorry about that." Scamps then realized how far away from everypony else they were. "I'm Windy Scamper, or Scamps, for ahort. I'm not sure if you remember me or not..."

Getting away from Shell wasn't a good idea... He's probably worried sick.. Maybe-- Well, it seemed as though Somber ran into somepony... And this one was someone that he recognized unusually easily.

 

"Oh, uh, hi Scamps... I never expected... To see you here. How've you been?"

"I'm good, I guess..." Scamps remembered Somber; he had been fortunate....or probably, unfortunate, to survive the accident in her show. He knew her trouble, unlike anypony else. "I'm sorry...for what I did to you. For everything that happenned." She let a tear roll down her cheek. She hadn't thought about the fire in so long....but, now, he was here. She remembered how hurt he had looked physically and emotionally, one of two or three survivors. 'And it was all my fault...'

 

"If you want to leave me before I hurt you again, you can. It seems that's all I'm good at; hurting ponies."

 

(OOC: Had to come up with a connection on the spot, if you don't like it, I can change it.)

After a while Lila calmed down a bit and emerged through the maze. Looking around she didn't see anypony, which made her happy. The flame on her horn had been out for a while and the hedges had been 'nice' enough to show her the way out of the maze. She made her way around the garden not bothering to look at the flora around her anymore except to gain her bearings. The whole point of coming to this was to escape criticism, but apparently that wasn't going to happen. The only good thing so far was Rain and he was the only thing keeping her at the party at this point even if he wasn't with her at the moment. She felt bad for leaving him like that and figured he wasn't to happy with her either. Lila didn't even bother to look for the hostess again, or anypony for that fact. As long as she was away from anyone she was fine.

Somber remembered that accident... His wings were charred for weeks.. And Scamps kept blaming that on herself...

 

"Scamps... It wasn't your fault..", Somber explained, putting a hoof on her shoulder. "That was just a freak accident. We couldn't have stopped that if anyone tried..."

Star Rain cocked her head when she noticed the awkward look on Dusk's face. She then looked straight ahead and saw a fantastic pond that seemed to shimmer with a supernatural radiance. She stopped in her tracks with wide eyes as she gazed at the water. Dusk's voice snapped her back into reality though. "Hm?" she said after noticing the mare he pointed out.

Eve nodded, somewhat distractedly. "I'm still alive, I guess. And so are the plants, even with this many ponies over..." She trailed away, as she saw a couple new ponies approaching. One, with a pink mane, was writing, sitting near the entrance. The other, who was rather handsome and looked rather irritable, had just entered. "Wanna help me greet guests? You can take the pink one," Eve offered nervously, as she started trotting towards the irritable stallion.

Dusk noticed the mare engrossed in her work - taking notes or something. Was she writing a book? He didn't really pay it too much attention, aside from noticing her being busy. When he noticed how close they where to the pond he stopped, wide eyed and staring across the surface of the water. 

Approaching the waters edge, he noticed the fish in the water, beautiful golden coloured fish, swimming with others of all colours, blue, red, green - some fish looked at him and seemed to match the colour of his coat, in a way that reminded him of himself. He shyed away a little, and noticed that the fish did too. "Well that's new" he smiled - "these fish are...interesting, dont you think so?" he asked, nodding his head over to the purple fish.

Scamps looked down. "I should have at least checked on you...made sure you were okay.....It was my fault, if only I weren't such a klutz, then maybe it wouldn't have hapenned...." She sighed, then looked up at Somber, her eyes full of tears. She remembered when those eyes had been happy at her show, the pain when he got hurt....everything. She felt connected to him, somehow, so she just kept gazing into those eyes....

 

"Can...can we change the subject? I don't like talking about that..."

Rain trotted over to the pond and sat down on a small bench right next to the water.

Diamond gave Eve a cheeky grin. "Let me just play some romantic music...I will grab some wine as well." She joked. "Im just kidding Eve." Diamond smiled and trotted over to Marisa. "Hello there...I don't think we have met. My name is Light Diamond." She said, Smiling and holding out her hoof.

"I was born in Manehattan until I was six.. I was stolen from my family.. After that I don't remember.. Everything's blank.." Silver shuddered and a few tears ran down her face. " I was found a few years later..." She trailed off then. " After that I guess I went back to my normal routine, but I still wasn't the same"

Leaf had imaged what the story would be like in his head. It was indeed sad. But Leaf didn't want to cry where everyone would see him! His mother was violent and his father was killed. He didn't seem to know which story was sadder... his or Silver's... "So, you wanna go somewhere else or stay here?" asked Leaf, getting a bit closer to her.

"Yeah, they look kind of like koi fish!" Star Rain observed, taking a guess at what kind of fish they may be. She went over to the water's edge, laid down, and dipped her hooves into the cold water. It was like ice from a cold ocean far away. She didn't flinch though at the temperature. She flinched when the fish came over to nibble on her hooves! She jerked her hooves away and yelled,"YEEP!"

Somber sighed. Scamps was one to hold things to her responsibility... Even when the police said there was no activities directed to harm, she still blamed herself... Grief. He went over and hugged her, at least trying to make her cheer up.

Marisa jumped at the sudden voice, she turned towards where it came from, a rather interestingly colored stallion near the water's edge. "Oh uh... i haven't taken my time to look at them, i'm trying to come up with idea for my story, i have writers block" he said and tapped her pencil on the side of her head with a little smirk.

Marisa turned to the mare who had just approached her, "Oh, hey. I'm Marisa, nice to meet you Diamond" she said and shook the mare's extended hoof.

Rain trotted over to the pond and sat down on a small bench right next to the water.

Lila hadn't been paying much attention to where she was going and coincidently found herself back at the pond, where Rain so happened to be. Regret filled her and she went up to him cautiously. She laid down next to him keeping her distance. "I bet you're mad at me right now." she said quietly to allow the plants their space from her as much as possible.

Dusk was taken by surprise at Stars sudden yell, he took half a step forward to her "Are you alright?!" he asked quickly, and then when he saw what had happened, he started to laugh. 

After a few seconds, he wiped a tear from his eye and said - "Careful, they have a taste for ponies now" then nudged Star with a wink - immediately snapping his hooves back to himself, when out the corner of his eye he saw the pink maned mare looking over towards them. "Oh i'm...um...sorry, did we...disturb you?" he said nervously.

Eve glared daggers at Diamond before trotting cooly away from her towards the stallion who was steaming at the ears. Eh. She could never truly be mad at Diamond. They'd known each other far too long. And Diamond knew that fact far too well. She could read Eve like a book, that one.

She approached the stallion hesitantly, as he didn't look in the best of moods. Her eyes scanned his body hesitantly, and quickly, lingering slightly in his eyes before hers darted away, embarrased. "H-hello," she said so softly he would have to strain his ears to hear. "I'm Evergreen..."

Marisa's facial expression dropped when she realized the stallion wasn't talking to her at first. "Oh uh... no" she said and looked back down at her notepad. She looked back towards Diamond and nodded, "Yeah, i'm an author. I've written a couple of books so far, but i have a bad case of writers block, so i came here"

"Im not angry at you...I'm disappointed. You are such a wonderful kind mare who has so much talent, But you are saying that you should have just learned normal magic...That's so silly." He said, Shuffling down the bench so Lila could sit down.

Lila hopped up next to him and sat down quietly thinking. "I guess you're right." she said in a mallow tone not really believing him. "I just wish I wasn't hated for it. Its not really fair to me." Lila looked Rain in the eyes while scooting closer, feeling his pelt against hers. It lightened her mood a little but it didn't seem like enough to her.

A confused look on his face now, Dusk tilted his head the mare on the bench, then looked back at Star. He mouthed to her - "What ju-" then shook his head. Laughed in confusion and sat down close beside Star. Not realising just how close he was. He teased at the water with his hoof, shuddering at the cold. He watched as the fish parted each time his hoof broke the surface, and then swam back again when he retracted. 

 

As if suddenly realising what it was that Star had said to him, he perked up and looked at her, "You really think so?" his coat rippled diagonally from his flank to his mouth - just once - showing a dark rainbow of all the colours from before. This time however it was not in fear or panic, it was in joy and happiness.

Goldseek just watched as he realized what he had done. He had done just what he always did. He had just let her walk away. Perhaps it was for the better. Being in a relationship with someone would probably just endanger them. He sighed. Why did he have to be such a fool. He walked back to the bench and sat down once more.

Rain put his arm around Lila. "I don't hate you for it." He smiled and hugged her tightly. "I think your magic is even more amazing than Celestia raising the sun." He said, Chuckling.
