null1 606 January 17, 2013 Share January 17, 2013 I got this cool thing to share/inform people about (if never heard of it, that is). Palindromes are words, phrases, or strings of letters that can be read in either direction, for example: radar god a red nugget, a fat egg under a dog I first learned of this years back after seeing Weird Al's "Bob" music video. Perfect example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nej4xJe4Tdg Now I'm curious to see the collective creativity of the forum to make up their own palindromes.
Ezio Auditore 702 January 17, 2013 Share January 17, 2013 "Dammit I’m mad. Evil is a deed as I live. God, am I reviled? I rise, my bed on a sun, I melt. To be not one man emanating is sad. I piss. Alas, it is so late. Who stops to help? Man, it is hot. I’m in it. I tell. I am not a devil. I level “Mad Dog”. Ah, say burning is, as a deified gulp, In my halo of a mired rum tin. I erase many men. Oh, to be man, a sin. Is evil in a clam? In a trap? No. It is open. On it I was stuck. Rats peed on hope. Elsewhere dips a web. Be still if I fill its ebb. Ew, a spider… eh? We sleep. Oh no! Deep, stark cuts saw it in one position. Part animal, can I live? Sin is a name. Both, one… my names are in it. Murder? I’m a fool. A hymn I plug, deified as a sign in ruby ash, A Goddam level I lived at. On mail let it in. I’m it. Oh, sit in ample hot spots. Oh wet! A loss it is alas (sip). I’d assign it a name. Name not one bottle minus an ode by me: “Sir, I deliver. I’m a dog” Evil is a deed as I live. Dammit I’m mad." ~Demitri Martin same forwards and backwards

TheDragoniteDestiny 23 January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 There is actually a book about that called something along the lines of "Otto, the Racecar----" I really don't know the rest, but the story is laid out like this: there's this kid that loves palindromes and anagrams because his first and last names are both palindromes, he's also like a 12-year-old kid who is a racing prodigy and already has his driver's license. You should look into it if you like palindromes so much! But yeah, I got the phrase "Yo' banana boy" from it, and I've never forgotten it.-TheDragoniteDestiny The Universe, a mysteryThe Earth, a puzzleThe Dawn, an enigma... Kamil 315 January 22, 2013 Share January 22, 2013 Obviously the best palindrome ever is as follows I None can deny that this is the same forwards and backwards. It is also the same upwards, downwards, inwards, outwards, diagonally, spiralwise and in curves, making it one of the few multi-dimensional palindromes. This space intentionally left blank. Pony Joe 583 January 22, 2013 Share January 22, 2013 (edited) -giganticpalindromesnip- ~Demitri Martin same forwards and backwards In his book "This is a Book," he has an entire section dedicated to original palindromes, including one that's over two and a half pages long. While I'm too lazy to copy that entire one down (and can't seem to find it online), here are some of the shorter ones. Son, say a papaya. Papayas. No "s." Ya, get an ID, robust, subordinate gay. Snub no man. Nice cinnamon buns! Edited January 22, 2013 by Pony Joe 1 That's really all there is to say on the matter.
