Which confirms my theory. Being Twi doesn't automatically make you smarter or knowledgeable. It makes you... Twilight. You might love to study all you want, but if you're not smart enough to not know what you're reading, well no amount of hypnosis will fix it :v

Not to mention, you're not just getting Twi's studiousness, but also everything else about her. Introversion, being overly rational etc.

I too wanted to do Twi's to have a side of my personality that could handle things that my actual personality can't. But as soon as I noticed Twi's introversion and rationality started to leak into my own... then nope. Because as much as I love Twi as a character, I don't want to be like her.

 

Now everypony's free to have their own reasons and stuff, but if you want to do Twi's only to become better at school...

...just be prepared to get a lot more than that

Just to reiterate again, Hypnosis will only strengthen what you already have. If you have no desire to become Twilight, then you won't. Personally, if you decided to pick Twilight because you would like to improve your study habits, I believe that's totally fine (as that's one of my biggest reasons for starting in the first place).

ask in http://tulpa.info and everyone will say at once:

"Do NOT make a tulpa based on an existing character. If it happened by accident, like our Fluttershy here, fine. If you really want them to look and act like one go ahead and try to force their personality to be like theirs, but make it clear for them that they're NOT the real character. And if they don't want to be like them, expect deviation (which means they will change looks and/or personality)"

 

Well if you want to be Twi... well, you'll literally be Twi. In your perspective, that it. That's the ultimate effect. 

And don't worry, you're not talking too much. Hay, we go OT every now and then

Explains why I never had much luck with the personality changes, while I was making much more progress with the body.

Because I was OK with being a unicorn, but not with being introverted and studious.

 

But I'm OK with both being a pegasus AND an overconfident show-off  so I hope to have more luck with RD

It seems as this is more then a pony desire, I truly want to do better in school and I am willing to work this is help this become more of a reality, It is quite relaxing, and I believe if I stick with it for awhile it will start to seep in

It's already been said that it's not recommended to deliberately make a tulpa that resembles an existing fictional character.

 

But I would also like to take the chance to stress again that hypnosis does not cause tulpas. If it does happen, it's on accident. If you want to try and make that happen, well, I can't stop you. But hypnosis is supposed to make you think YOU'RE a pony, not give you a pony companion.

 

Tulpaforcing is, in general, a slow, long process. It usually takes weeks, months, for a developing tulpa to become vocal (start talking to you). Don't go into this hypnosis thing expecting a tulpa to pop up out of nowhere. Yes, it happens sometimes, but those are unusual cases. My own tulpa didn't come from hypnosis, but rather over a year of tulpaforcing.

 

Sorry if I come off as haughty or even mean here, but I don't like the thought of people thinking they can create tulpae just like that because they listen to a hypnosis file. Tulpae are individual beings, after all, with thoughts and feelings.

 

Edit: Also, I can't stop you from making choices, so you can feel free to ignore my rambling. If you really want to make a Twi tulpa, I can't do anything to stop you.

That's totally fine. Sorry for going off on you like that, but I feel like people should really take careful consideration in the decision to make a tulpa before jumping in.
