Sooo... I wondered. You know guys, it is known that many people often come up with the whole fire ruby scene as proof that Rares is evil and/or greedy and/or selfish and/or whatever. I know it's not true, i know you guys know that it is not true. Hell, SolarFox even debunked it in his analysis.

 

But did you know that there are tweets from Larson about that scene? If you guys DID know, sorry about peaching to the choir, but if you guys did not know: here is it.

None of you have read Neil Gaiman's comic series, The Sandman? The basic idea is that there are 7 entities called The Endless, who are immortal (somewhat) personifications of concepts: Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Despair, Desire and Delirium. Dream is the eponymous Sandman. The picture I put up earlier is Rarity as Desire. I'd really suggest finding out about it, it's a great series. In the meantime, have more Rarity!

Lol gonna quote myself. But this in regards to a Rarity date. Remember, Genorosity is her thing, and really the key to a date with her would not be the best and fanciest. Yes she likes those things, but remember she is the fairer sex embodiment so its about time and gifts for her. Dresses are nice, so is jewelry, but time spent with her and listening is going to be key. Time in the park while the pony-tones (sans Rarity) sings in a Gazeebo, or a carriage ride would tickle her fancy IMO. Some of her attitude is old fashioned 1910s style of fancy. Operas, music, dancing, and treating her like a lady is key (as we saw in the Gala). Blue Blood failed there, he was selfish where it is about being selfless, but not frivolous with money...she owns her own business and understands the value of what is earned as she earns her way in the world.

I am musing more now...Blue Blood compared to Fancy Pants. Quite estreme yes, but for Rarity's idealised colt, Fancy Pants fits the bill. He breaks the mold of the haugthy Canterlot attitude, and I think that he actually fits the bill as the best match for Rarity's "Prince."

 

Ghostie, you are a close second...species and 4th wall boundries and all that!

 

He values her opinion but does not judge on that, and not knowing her friends from Ponyville, he treated them all like ladies and found them charming. He is a genuine gentlecolt and scholar, a traveled stallion and a morally upstanding citizen. From his behavior I would dare say a philanthropist. That kind of genoristy Rarity would fall for.

Ech. I never was able to get all that into Raripants, to be honest. I see Fancy Pants and Fluer as a married couple, sort of like a gold-digger type thing. Also, I see Fancy Pants as being MUCH older than Rarity; late 50s to early 60s in human years.

 

Fancy Pants is confirmed for fabulousity, though He was such a great dude to Rarity in Sweet & Elite, and, like my lovely waifu, breaks the stereotype of what you'd expect of his character.
