Scootaloo's Mother?

The fanon for Scootaloo being an orphan feels right to me.  We've never been shown where she lives, but we've been in Applebloom's room, and we've at least seen Sweetiebelle's parents if not their home.  Scootaloo's craving for Dashie's approval and a sororal figure are so strong, it's easy to believe there's just no one there for her in the way of parents or siblings.  Being an only-foal could account for it, it's true, but why casually show us glimpses of the other two CMC's home-lives and not Scoot's?

 

The most touching fan art I've ever seen of Scootaloo was her curling up to sleep on newspapers in an alley, a Rainbow Dash poster glued up on one wall, a pathetic little trove of keepsakes hoarded there amongst some trash.  That's been headcanon for me ever since.  

 

Of course it's far more likely she lives in an orphanage, because pony society doesn't strike me as one that would allow street-foals to exist.  Besides, Scootaloo wouldn't have been able to keep that a secret forever, and the moment her homeless status was discovered, you know someone (probably AJ earlier on, now probably Rainbow) would have taken her in.

Alright, so this latest episode gave us a new big piece of canon: Rainbow Dash's daddy. I actually missed this fact on my first watch of the episode, but went back and found it after I saw everyone freaking out about it. However, upon closer inspection of that flashback scene, I noticed that there may have been another previously unseen parent in that crowd...

 

 

The hair, mane, and it's hard to discern, but I believe eye colors all match up. Could this be Scootaloo's mother? She looks not quite fully grown, but this flashback is before RD even had her cutie mark, so I feel it's fully possible it could be her mother. Did the animators sneak this little easter egg in, or is it just a coincidence?

 

Opinions, thoughts?

Actually, I just realized something... If that WERE her mother, it makes sense because Dash is just a child so Scootaloo hasn't been brought about, but she appears younger than others in the crowd, so it is completely plausible.

 

I'm still not sold on that being Dash's dad though... just like that being scootaloo's mom, there's no proof.  I'd believe it is more likely dash's brother but whatever.

I normally don't think about background ponies being related to any of the 6 or the CMC, but it's an idea. It is posable for a pony child to look  like their parent. Look at Mr. Cake and Pumpkin Cake, they look a like in many aways. Still only time will tell.

 

As for the pony Rainbow Dash is on, I would like to think that's her dad. I would just like to see one pegasus character have a mother or father show up. Maybe by showing us him it a sign he will show up in more episodes. Kinda like in the Mare Do Well episode where we saw the first baby pony and a few episodes later we would get a fool episode about baby ponies. But like I said, only time will tell.

Also I've heard that the purple and pink pony is Rainbow Dash's mom. I think that she's actually Rainbowshine, whose been in the background since the beginning, and even talked to Rainbow Dash once. She was the one who said "Ditzy Doo went north to get the southern birds!"
