i recently got right back into Model building, started with a eurofighter then a B-2 spirit, then at the moment im building an Israeli defense Force AH-64A Apache.

 

first is the B-2 spirit, also just known as "The Stealth Bomber" was first unvailed in 1997, it was primarily made as a nuclear bomber, to drop B-63 tactical nukes, its first use was in the kosovo war, as part of the NATO/ KFOR offensive to drop convential bombs on Serbia. 

it saw continued use throughout the iraq afghanistan war, and some were even used in the lybian civil war.

 

(now for my own models story x3)

 

The Equestrian air forces B-4 Nightmare is a heavilly upgraded US B-2 stealth bomber, with the ability to literally be invisible due to Nightmare moons magical influence, it is a nightmare to any enemy forces.

It carries a 100,000 pound bomb load, (almost 40,000 more than the normal B-2) and it is unknown how the B-4 does this, though it is hypothisized it is again, by magics unkown.

 

the flaw of the B-4 is its invisiblity is disrupted when the bomb bays are opened, though it retains some of its stealth ability, but by then, it is already gone.

many pilots of the equestrian airforce have a popular motto when flying these beasts

"Now you see me, now your dead."

Here is the finished model, 3 days work, probably the most time ive spent on a model, but i dont know if it was worth it, in all honesty, all my models seem to turn out like crap.

i am not going to put any kind of cutie mark on these things, only nightmare moons, but even then, thats gonna be spare as it is, id rather not mar them up. XP

i just got a new model kit, yes this one is a tank, and im actually kinda excited to start this one, seeing as this is the only company that makes the Type 99 tank model.

I doubt anyone really cares about this bullshit, but i finished another model, the RAF benevolent fun BAE Hawk, a very well made model, i just suck at putting it together.

 

in any case the benevolent fund is a good non profit charity for a good cause, more so then the stupid united states, we dont have charities that support the navy, marines, air force, army or coast guard.

 

where as britian has the RAF benevolent fund, hte Royal marines fund, the Royal navy fund, and the royal army fund, and it goes to support wounded soldiers and their families.

 

again, i doubt anyone cares, but here it is anyway.

You did a nice job there I got once a model kit for some kind of Battleship in Christmas , i was exited at the beginning but after a while trying to put things together  i lost my patience ... and some parts of the model too T_T

so here i am again, i cant build the type 99A1, as much as i would like too, the treads are too damn hard to assemble, so i picked up another tank.

the Leopard 2A6 this one i really like, beacuse its one of my top favorite MBT's in the world, the reason is, it has better surviveability than a M1A1,and is more advanced than the leclerc, (pronounced leclear) where most problems on it can be fixed by a laptop alone.

 

so far i only have the main body done, but its coming together alot better than i expected XP

no, its a 1/35th like the others ive built so far, its just a slightly larger tank itself, though probably just about the size of the cheiften, lengthwise, but taller than the T-72

Ah, I see. Sounds like you shouldn't have too much trouble putting this one together, then. Are you going to paint it the regular colors, or do something a little more custom?

i dont know, i want to make it custom, but i think ill build this one normally, and if i get another, ill customize it a bit more in terms of paint, i already gave it a base coat of NATO green.

 

heres the update, i have the road wheels painted, and glued, and i have one set of tracks painted, when i glued parts of the lower body on, i left some spaces by accident that i didnt notice until the glue dried.

this is the putty i put in those spaces, now all i have to do is paint them

 

So, i managed to get the treads on WITHOUT breaking the roadwheels off, like on the last tank i tried to build, (before the type 99)

 

and this is what it looks like so far, i still need to get some paint to cover up the putty.

i figure noone really cares beacuse noone is really posting, but ill post again anyway, i only know two ponies that really care about how much time and effort im putting into this.

 

 

 

so i now have the Turret mostly assembled, and the chassis is basically done, i just need to ad the MG3, smoke launchers and some of the smaller details, then the camoflauge, then the decals.

i have started the camo on the chassis, but i had to get out of my room, even with the window all the way open, i think i was getting a little cloudy headed beacuse of the fumes.

But inhaling the fumes is half the fun! It looks like it's coming along well. I don't see any obvious flaws with it, and it looks like the smaller details were painted without splattering any paint (which is a wee bit hard to do). Good show so far. I do recommend putting some camo markings on the turret, though.

next update, its all done, it just needs a good coat of paint, some decals, and it will be a battle ready leopard 2A6, (or so i wish in my insane, insane dreams XP)

well the paint job is finished x3 at first i wasnt so sure it would turn out any good at all, but i guess i surprised myself, the camo looks really good.

Huh. The Leopard's camo pattern even looks a little bit like a leopard. x3

I'm really digging your attention to detail on that tank and the apache. I could never master camouflage myself, but you seem to have an knack for it. 

 

On an unrelated note, have you ever built any army building for table top games? I think you might be pretty good at it if you decide to invest in it.

actually....about that x3 i am into warhammer 40k, i play imperial guard, i dont have many units set up yet and i play my own regiment. the 789th wolfsharks, but i do have my favorite units so far.

A leamun russ, chimera, basalisk, and my persoanal favorite, the baneblade "sharkbait"

 

 

so, i have a VERY large update, i put most of the decals on the Leopard, and it looks great, plus i took some pictures of the other model tanks ive done, 3 in total.

so without further ado.

and now comes my other tanks, a british cheiften Mk 3 and a east german T-72, im kinda ashamed to admit, i never painted the T-72, and now that i look at it, i probibly should have XP. but the cheiften, was the first time i ever did camoflauge.

I must say, having had the chance to meet all three of these machines in person, I can safely say, you've done a bang-up job with the painting and decals so far, Midnight!

 

You've likely mentioned this already and I've somehow not noticed, but, if I may, what scale are these tanks? They seem to me to look like 1/48.

 

Keep up the great work, you're reminding me I still have all of mine to get started on x_x

they are 1/35th scale, and your lucky to have gotten to see them all, i really want too, but the only tank ive ever seen up close was the M4 sherman, i would like to see a M1, a leopard, and a merkava, t-90. t-72 Object 279, ;_; i want to see them, all x3.
