music 90's and 70's Music

This is probably one of the greatest decades of music

With the 70's coming in a close second

But the 90's we had loads of stuff happening

We had rockers like Nirvana and Pearl Jam

There was Nine Inch Nails coming around with Industrial music

And we had Radiohead who were experimenting with music

We even had Ambient and IDM music

You know stuff like Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Autechre

And there was the rave scene with guys like:

The Prodigy, The Crystal Method, and Underworld

So I figured that since this decade had lots of stuff in it

That it would be necessary to make a whole thread based off of it

EDIT: I've made this the 90's and 70's Thread so that we can post some good 70's music

Well I guess the two bands I like the most from the 90s would be Rage Against the Machine and Pantera.

Here's my favorite RATM song:

Here's my favorite Pantera song:

I had a feeling that if you were to find this thread then you would post those bands

But anyways still nice choices both are actually not too bad

Anyways you know who Live are, they seem to be a band that you'd like

And if you're a fan of rap, the 90s were kind of a golden age, with guys like Biggie, Tupac, Dr. Dre, etc. really cutting through, as well as Nas and Wu Tang Clan.

Interestingly, though, the 90s started with crap (MC Hammer and New Kids on the Block) and ended with crap (Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, etc.)

I think the 90s had amazing music, I especially love 90s
House music a great deal. Although growing up in the 90s I recall loving stuff
like Alice Deejay- Better Of Alone, Spice Girls (all the song’s), Boyzone…..can’t
think of any of there song’s, Steps and a whole bunch more of the fun 90s pop
and dance at the time.

I've actually never heard of them in my life lol

I actually used to like the Backstreet Boys, and they were a lot better than crap today like Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj.

But then again almost all decades of music have their gold spots

And their really crappy spots

Still I'd have to agree that it is weird the way how the 90's started

With all of that stuff, and then ended with even worse

But yet in the middle of all that, there was stuff that was awesome

Better Off Alone to me was the only good house type song

Then go listen to Lakini's Juice

It's an epic song

Well each to his or her own, but Alice Deejay- Better Of Alone wasn't any type of House it was Euro-Dance and Trance music. Hate that kind of dance music these days but like it from a back in the day kinda way

Ignoring the fact that we're skipping the 80's and basically everything I ever loved about glam metal, I cannot believe no one has put up the best song of the 90's.

I know, I know

You mentioned house in your post

And it had confused me

Anyways Underworld

Are undoubtedly the kings of 90's dance music:

At least in my mind they are

Hmm..why hasn't anyone posted this? Or I suppose people really haven't posted much. Anyways, time for this inspirational master piece.

One that as soon as you are reminded it exists, will be indefinitely stuck in your head;

... I *had* to open my mouth about MC Hammer, didn't I? *shakes head*

And then of course there was Vanilla Ice, who was MC Hammer but *whiter*.

I used to LOVE Born Slippy, it was used on the end credits of the film Trainspotting, starring Ewan M'cgregor as like this dude hooked on heroin

That's where most people heard Born Slippy

It's still a classic song, and I have yet to watch Trainspotting

Still though Underworld did some really amazing stuff

Outside of the Trainspotting soundtrack

And now you've opened your mouth about Vanilla Ice

Oh well at least I know that I'm not the only one

Who hates MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice

There are some great bands from the 90's, but not very many that I've been able to get into. I love Green Day, and Foo Fighters. There's a few others that I can't bring to mind right now.

Green Day's best songs were from the 90's

The stuff back before American Idiot

I'm not saying that AI was a bad album

But I still think that GD's best era was

Back when Dookie and Insomniac were out

And man I used to love the Foo Fighters

But I kind of grew out of them

Not such a big fan of them anymore

But still Everlong is a hard song to argue about

Wait, hold up a sec people...A 90's Music thread....And no Megadeth? What is this blasphemy?!

Oh, wait, Gamma Ray. How weren't they mentioned?

I'd throw up a few vids, but my internet's lagging out too much to fire up a YT as well...

There's many more, but I can't think right now...I have a feeling Zebrahead started in the 90s, best albums were later though..

I like MC Hammer, he and Coolio are the only rappers that I actually listen to. For my policy on the rest of rap, check my signature for specifics.

We all have our opinions I personally hate MC Hammer

I really found all of his songs to be annoying and not enjoyable

But that's just my opinion

Personally, I'd take the 70s over the 90s an day for rock music. Still the 90s had what is possibly the best rock band ever, Soundgarden!

I would kill to sing like Chris Cornell and that song writing... feh.... i just can't put it in to words so watch the vid!

Soundgarden are definitely one of the highlights of the 90's

I do agree that they can write amazing songs

The lyrics to their music is just really well done

And the instrumentation really adds onto the lyrics well

Vanilla Ice.... if I had a nickel for every time I heard that stupid 'ice ice baby' song and got excited because I thought I was about to be treated to Under Pressure (another 'all time favourite' though definitely not 90s)

Well since 70's bands are starting to get mentioned

We might as well make this the 70's and 90's Music Thread

And also I did this so I can post Pink Floyd

One of my all time favorite albums is The Dark Side Of The Moon

Oh no you di'int!

That, good sir, is the kinda stuff I'm in to.

Dark Side of the Moon is a favourite for me as well. But if I started listing all the 70s music I love, this would be a very, very long thread and EMI would probably come after me.
