Phobias?

I can only think of a few off the top of my head.

Spiders - If they're outside, I don't mind them as much, but I freak out if I see them inside. I have this fear that they'll accidentally fall on me or something. I also hate it when orb-weaving spiders build their webs in places that I have to pass through. I've never walked into a full web, but if I walk into one of their little web lines, it creeps me out and I surely hope the spider that made it wasn't on it somewhere.

Heights (Falling) - I don't know if it's heights or actually the fear of falling. Probably the latter. If I'm in a tall building I'm okay. Even if I look toward the ground through the window of a tall building I'm okay, as there's a wall and a pane of glass in front of me. If you take the wall away, though, and it's an open space up high, especially if I'm near the edge, then I get really nervous.

Being Touched - I didn't even think of this one until I saw it mentioned earlier. This generally applies to just ordinary people I'm not close to. If I'm not prepared to be touched, I'll freak out. By "freak out" I mean I'll yank myself away to get whoever is touching me, off of me. For instance, if someone put their hand on my shoulder and I wasn't expecting it, I might quickly pull away before turning around to see who it was. However, if it's someone I'm close to, then it definitely doesn't bother me at all.

Bug Contact - I'm not afraid of all bugs, most of them I'm not. However, I do not like it if they land on me or crawl on me. Feels weird. There are a few exceptions to this, though. If a caterpillar is walking along my arm, I'm okay with that, or a ladybug. Something like that, but something like a beetle, no way.

Unknown Darkness - I want to be specific, because if I shut off all the lights in a place I'm familiar with— like my home, for example, I'm okay with that. If I'm in a forest at night, forget it. That's very eerie to me.

Sudden Loud Sounds - Not sure if it's a fear or more of just a dislike. I saw balloons mentioned. I hate it when someone is blowing up a balloon to such a degree that it seems like it's about to pop. I hate that sound. Same goes for close fireworks. I like fireworks, but the ones that are predictable sound-wise. Not the ones that have those sharp loud whistle-like sounds at random that you don't expect. Also, smoke alarms. I hate smoke alarms with a passion. I know they are there to help, but if they go off when they're not supposed to or you need to test them... I hate that. Strangely enough, though, thunder normally doesn't follow this rule, as I love thunderstorms. Loud thunderclaps come with this appreciation, but I still do get startled if it's really close or loud. Shortly after that I get this adrenaline rush from it. So I don't count them.

Flying - I have yet to face this fear. I've never been in an airplane yet, but the idea scares me. I guess the same can be said for being on a boat for too long. I like to be on a solid surface.

Chemophobia

The fear of chemicals.

Especially with things like bleach.

This was developed early on in high school in Chemistry class where we had to perform a lab based on acid and how it could burn through certain objects.

So we wouldn't screw around, we were told a true horror story about a college professor who showed his student how acids could be diluted with a base by pouring water in the same glass before drinking it.

But, since it wasn't diluted 100% it still burnt a hole in his throat and had to be rushed to the hospital.

So after the lab I held my hands under cold water for an hour and a half paranoid that some of the acid may have gotten on them and was slowly eating through my flesh.

Later, the teachers admitted to exaggerating the potency of the particular acid we were working with, but I've suffered from the phobia to this day.

Fear of falling and or hieghts Is one, the possibility terrifies me, ironically i want to go sky diving. I am weird.

Spiders/bug contact I am not scared of bugs unless they are on me, it really makes my skin crawl and creeps me out.

Loud Sudden Noises This one is a lesser one, but at times it really got my heart going.

Going outside and walking around I am scared ill get stabbed or mugged. :\

Darkness I like the dark but not if i am unsure of what's in it. Walking around my city at night would make me powerful uncomfortable.

that's pretty much all that scares me, not much i know, for the most part i am fearless.

I don't have too many. Snakes and spiders are definitely on the list though. They're so scary! D:

People at school think I'm afraid of butterflies, which I'm not. It was because earlier this year I was just talking with a friend while walking to one of my classes and this butterfly flew right in front of my face. Thinking it was a wasp, I squealed and batted it away. Unfortunately a lot of people were there. ._.

I really hate bugs, everything about them.

They are so awkwardly shaped to me, I HATE it when they crawl on me and I can't even touch them.

Jellyfish.

I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the fact that they have no brain... Or I just don't understand how they work... Or that they are just weird looking. And it's not the fact that they sting that scares me, It's something deeper. I just don't like the idea of a little gelatinous sea creature with no brain touching me. msg-8308-0-76652000-1382912179.png

They alone make me afraid of the ocean.

Your argument is invalid.

Nucleomituphobia

This is an odd one, but its a fear of nuclear war. Just that thought that out a of the blue, the place I live could be reduced to an irradiated wasteland scares the crap out of me. Though if that ever does happen, I guess all the days I've spilt into Fallout 3 were actually productive.

Ok so these are my biggest fears:

Heights: I CAN go high altitudes (Airplanes, Rollercoasters, ETC) But I would rather stay on ground.

Being Raped: (Please no one laugh at this) But I walk to and from school and sometimes I get a bit scared that someone will try to grab/follow/rape me. :3

Abuse: (Again, no one laugh at this) But I am scared that one day I will come home and find that my step-dad or something will be hitting my mum and my brothers, and start hitting me. (He doesn't abuse us) But it's is a valid phobia.

Arachnids: I am SEVERELY scared of spiders, If they are small, I am ok with it, but if they are massive and hairy, I scream and run away!

So they are my phobias, please, please, please don't laugh at them!

Mottephobia, a fear of moths.

I can't stand moths. Their erratic flying pattern and ugly appearance freaks me out all the time. ;_;

I think it's called cardiophobia... basically a phobia of anything to do with hearts.

Except with me, it's more specific. It's heartbeats. I can't stand them. I don't like feeling or hearing them.

The more common ones: arachnophobia, acrophobia (though these two are more bearable)

The heart thing started when I was 11-ish. I had serious paranoia or something, which I don't have anymore. I was paranoid I was going to die all the time for a couple of years. Be it snakes, spiders, height, poisoning, etc. I got myself into loads of weird habits (e.g. keeping my legs off the ground when I sat on a chair) The only odd phobia that stuck with me afterwards was the heartbeat one.

I have toxiphobia and Emetophobia, which includes fear of vomiting, fear of seeing vomit, or vomiting in public. Both started when i was young. In first grade I got sick in the middle of a reading group, the children didn't react to well, and laughed. I also loss friends I believe. My parents thought I drank a bug spray so I was sent to the hospital and got my stomach pumped.

Yes, Acrophobia is fear of heights. Well, that's a pretty odd phobia all right. But then again, there are a lot of weird phobias.

My phobia is Acrophobia.

I can't stand being more than 10 feet off the ground. I don't mind jumping off a high dive or nothing because I'll be falling into a pool of water which is fine but, I can't stand to be going high on a swing or walking on a roof top(I'll do this actually cause it's fun). If I'm ever in a plane I will pray that we get to the ground softly because I'm terribly scared of heights, specially as a child.

I sometimes fear spiders, but if it's a tiny one I'll kill it, but if it's a big one I'm like: "Oh hell no screw this!". and I run. XD.

I don't fear high ceilings. Sure it's freaky but I find it really cool when some places have a high ceiling. It makes me say "Wow!".

One more thing, Claustrophobia. I HATE HATE HATE being in small places!! I'm 6'1". I need my space to stretch out and move around. If I can't do that, I get really pissed off and I try to escape. If it's a group picture, getting a MRI/Cat Scan(Never had one, just an example), sitting in a group with friends etc, I don't mind. But if I'm in a tight space for a extensive period of time, I go insane.

That's all I got.
