writing The Bitter End (Poem)

I last saw her standing there

against the sun's, cool warm glare

I should have told her right then

oh how wonderful our lives would have been

 

I tried and tried to tell her now

"You do not know how I love thou"

But try and try again I failed

Away from me, she now has sailed

 

Regret and melancholy fill my mind

To the past, these feelings bind

All that I had once held dear

I know my death is very near

 

So now I sit here all alone

Deathly ill, and withered to the bone

What I'd give for one last chance

or at her face, one last glance

 

I know that death calls me away

But for her, I want to stay

How many rules I'd gladly bend

To just avoid this lonely bitter end
