Plushie advice?

[Lunar Red 92]

I am (planning) on making a pony plush. This particular plush will be of Big Macintosh and the second will be of Applejack. I have sewing knowledge but its very little (I know only how to do the regular (stick needle in and out) stich). So does anypony have any tips on how to make good plushies

 

Additonal Info:

 

* Made of Fleece

 

* I need to know how to do hair and how to make it stand

 

* I made a plush before but it did'nt turn out "great"

 

* I need a pattern for it.
