Aipom's jaw dropped with wonder at the size of Glitter Lighthouse as they approached it, and Drew, frankly, had to agree. It was quite impressive, standing out on a rocky bluff over the waves. He glanced at Luna, grinning. "I see why this lighthouse is so widely regarded." He squinted at a sign that lay beside the door, apparently endorsing battles within the lighthouse. And what better way was there to get to know somebody than to battle?   He looked at Luna again. "What say you to a little friendly battle, now that we're here?"

 

(OOC: So if we're basing this off the show does this mean that Luna is psychic ?)

 

Luna shrugged and pulled a Pokeball from her bag full of books. "I have been meaning to get Gastly out for some training...so why not." She said, tossing the ball into the air. There was a flash of red light and a Gastly floated down next to Luna who caught the pokeball before it hit the ground.

The gastly gave Drew and Aipom a wide grin.

Once Ryan had gotten to the entrance of Route 40, the smoke seemed to be a lot larger than appeared... He was able to see Plusle and Minun crying out about something, and they looked infuriated... He ran over to them, finally reunited. 

 

"Plusle! Minun! Why did you run off like that?! You had me worried!", he scorned them both, before Minun was tugging on his pant leg, pointing him towards the situation through a cry of "Mi"'s again. Ryan took notice of the water Pokemon in the net, appalled.

 

"This... Team Rocket... They're here. Plusle! Minun! Get ready! They're coming this way! Get ready to show them what you two are made of!"

(OOC: So if we're basing this off the show does this mean that Luna is psychic ?)

 

Luna shrugged and pulled a Pokeball from her bag full of books. "I have been meaning to get Gastly out for some training...so why not." She said, tossing the ball into the air. There was a flash of red light and a Gastly floated down next to Luna who caught the pokeball before it hit the ground.

The gastly gave Drew and Aipom a wide grin.

Aipom attempted to grin back, but he didn't seem to be able to keep one on his face as he gazed back into Gastly's. Not that he wasn't trying. Drew nodded, and pulled out his own Pokeball. Out from it emerged his Eevee, who looked around at Drew sleepily. He knelt down kindly, and asked, "You up for a battle, Eve?" Eevee glanced around, and when her eyes came to rest on the Gastly, she practically leapt into Drew's arms, shuddering, hair on end. "I'll take that as a no," Drew said, smiling and stroking the quivering brown lump soothingly before withdrawing her back into her Pokeball. "Looks like you're up, Aipom." Aipom gave a feeble smile, eyeing Gastly unenthusiastically.

The pink-haired one nudged his associate, who was blonde and somewhat stockier, and said, "Look, a weak-looking trainer." "Let's take 'is Pokemon!" the shorter of the two cackled. 

 

From their Pokeballs emerged a small dark gray ghostly figure and a nimble black one with a feather behind its ear, which both began to move menacingly towards Ryan.

 

"Get 'im, Shuppet!" "Go, Sneasel!"

Ghost type and a Dark type... This Sneasel should be easy! Well, Quick Attack can't work on Shuppet. I need to have more of the illusion area with me! "Plusle! Minun! Let's go!", he cried, as the two jumped out towards the two Pokemon, landing a few feet in front of the grunts' Pokemon. "Use Double Team!"

 

The two Pokemon began to glow in a harsh light, before it dissipated, and now showing that there was many copies of Plusle and Minun right around the Gastly and Shuppet.

Luna couldn't help but chuckle slightly as Drew's Eevee jumped into his arms. "Gastly may look creepy but trust me...he's just a big baby." She said, sticking her tongue out at Gastly who licked her whole head, messing up her hair. "Oh you bugger." She muttered, quickly reaching up and fixing her hair.

Abra snickered at Luna's messed up hair then sat down and yawned.

Jasmine glanced over at Stella quickly, grinning. She was in the moment. "Well, this could take a while. You could go train some if you like. Or you could stay. It's up to you." She looked at Leon, grinning. "Let's get this show on the road, then!" The floor of the hall opened up to reveal a battlefield, all shiny, polished metal. It would naturally be somewhat slippery to the touch, such was the design. Clyde and Jasmine both stepped up to their positions on the field. ((I'm assuming Leon did too here.)) In an official tone, Clyde announced, "The battle between Leader Jasmine of Olivine City and Challenger Leon of Virbank City is now commencing! Each side will use two Pokemon each. No substitutions or healing items are allowed. And that's it. Begin!" He waved his flag, and Jasmine, grinning and eyeing Leon's Growlithe, cried, "Alright, Bronzor, you're up!" "Bzztbzztbzzt!" Bronzor soared over Jasmine's head to face down Growlithe. Jasmine caught Leon's eye, as if giving him permission to move first. Leon's Olivine Gym Challenge had begun.

~Here goes nothing~ Leon thought to himself. "Alright Growlithe soften Bronzor up with an Ember!" Growlithe then stepped back and suddenly dozens of small fireballs start to shoot out of Growlithe's mouth, almost like a machine gun, with each one heading for Jasmine's Bronzor.

 

[OOC: Also don't worry I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make this battle more...interesting. ]

Paul went over to pick up the Pokeball which now contained Tauros "Yes!" he said in excitement of catching his first Pokemon in the Johto region before turning to Poliwag to pat him on the head.

"Good work Poliwag, just on more and a bit more training and we should be ready enough to challenge that gym leader" he said cheerfully while Poliwag leaped with joy, followed by a nudge to the Pokeball in Pauls hand. "What? Poliwag, I don't think it would be wise to let Tauros out just after you slapped him around" Poliwag gave another nudge "fine, I'll heal him here then, Tauros come'on out" 

 

He throw the pokeball out and released Tauros, still weaken but Paul quickly got out a potion and began to spray it on his scrapes "hey Tauros, hold still so I can fix you up", the bull stood there obediently as his partner healed him. once heal the Tauros made eye contact with the Poliwag   followed by a hefty grunt and a stomp of his hoof to the ground.

 

"Oh, Tauros, this I Poliwag.... Poliwag, Tauros..... be nice you too" Paul said worried the the two would end up fighting again, but the Tauros back down left a nod humbly towards Poliwag.

Paul stood back up to look for a second Pokemon and thinking that maybe he should check one of the trees.

 

As he looked around and saw girl in the distance with an Absol. "An Absol" he said to himself remembering the folk tail of how a disaster always occurs once an Absol is sighted. Of course they were only just stories.

 

Absol's trainer looked nervous for some reason, she wasn't commanding her Pokemon to do anything for some reason. "wait a sec" he mumble to himself, recognizing the girl as one of the other trainer who were on the SS Anne.

 

"Erm..... hey there" he said as he approached the girl

Stella spun around, having her back towards the boy, upon hearing the hello. "Uh... Hi." She said quietly. "And I was hoping he was going to ignore me..." Stella began to show a bit of irratation on her face, but quickly brushed it away too look as neutral as possible.

 

Oddish walked up bashfully to Absol, having never seen him very often. Absol paid no attention to the little Oddish, and lied down.

"Oh, sorry if I interrupted you" he said nervously as he noticed the hint of Irritation on the girls look. "You just looked a little nervous for some reason, so I thought I would see if I could help in anyway" he began to scratch the back of his head thinging how much of an idiot he must look like going up to a complete stranger like this. "By the way, my names Paul, Its nice to meet you" he said with a smile.

 

while Paul was making a fool of him self Poliwag stepped towards the Oddish in an attempt to greet the same way Paul was "Poliwag" he said giving a slight bow towards the Oddish.

Oddish was confused by the Poliwag's greeting. She let out a soft "Odd?", and sat down. Absol smiled slightly in response to the Poliwag, but quickly looked away.

 

"Uh. I'm Stella." Stella said in response, smiling slightly, before spinning around again. Absol didn't look very angry... or anything of the sort. In fact he looked pretty pleasant. "And, I'm fine." She added, though not entirely sure.

The two sinister Pokemon turned, back-to-back, and turning on the spot, began letting out a stream of shadowy fire and frozen air that began disintegrating the fake Plusles and Minuns at an alarming rate.

WHOA! They're getting rid of the copies really quickly! I gotta think of something... Ah! I know!

 

"Quick! Plusle! Minun! Jump in the air and use Spark!", Ryan cried out to the two. They both did what was commanded, surrounding themselves in a tangled jolt of electricity, crying out and jumping in the air. They were both lunging right at the other two, hoping to make contact.

Drew smiled. "Hear that, Aipom? You'll be fine. You ready?"   "Pah!"   "No, Aipom, I was asking Luna if she was ready. Not you. I know you're ready."   "Pah..."

 

Luna nodded casually and took a few steps back so they had some more room to fight. She looked at Gastly and, without her saying anything, Gastly nodded and floated out so he was just several feet away from Aipom. "Ready when you are." She said, grinning.

Abra slowly started to fall asleep at Luna's feet but would jolt awake and shake his head...after a moment of doing this he stood up and walked over to the outer wall of the lighthouse. He sat down so he was leaning against it and fell asleep...almost instantly.

As Stella Turned around Paul shifted his gaze to the Absol which laid on the ground. "Wow you have an Absol?" he said complimenting on how rare it is to see one let allow catch one. "Well I guess the folk tails are wrong then, no disasters" he said cheerfully before pulling two treats from his pack for Poliwag and Tauros, along with two extra treats for the Oddish and Absol.

"Well..." Stella began "My father gave him to me. I haven't really battled with him..." She sighed softly. Those stories always irritated Stella. The more she heard them the more she started to believe them. Not to mention; if she couldn't control Absol, he could also prove those true.

"Why not?" he asked as he past a treat to both Poliwag and Tauros. The pair of them lapping the tasty treats from his hands with delight.

 

"I mean you are obviously worried about not being able to control him, judging by how nervous you are with him out and how you keep checking to see how he's behaving, but how else are you going to get past it with out training him" he said to Stella as he moved closer to Absol and Oddish to give them a treat. "Is it Ok, if I give them a treat?"

Stella said nothing. She knew he was right, but didn't want to admit to it. "Uh. Yea, it's fine..." She said in a low, quiet voice. Battling with Absol would be nice, but she wasn't sure she could do it, or if it was even a good idea.

 

Oddish looked at Paul excitedly, as she rarely had such things.

Paul extended his hand to pass the treat to Oddish and smiled as the Oddish took the treat. he tussled the leaves on Oddishs' head before getting a treat out for Absol.

He was a bit nervous at first but it passed quickly as Paul offered a treat to Absol "here you go Absol" he said hoping this would boost Stella's confidence to battle with Absol, if she sees him be well around others.

Absol looked at the treat for a bit, then ate it slowly. 

 

Oddish ate the treat happily.

 

Stella smiled slightly. Last time Absol was out he vanished in a flash. But he seems perfectly calm right now. "Maybe it's just me..." Stella began thinking, losing confidence in herself again.

Paul looked up to see if it worked, but saw that she smiled a little but then began to look abit down.

"Why don't you give him a treat now" he said pulling out another treat and extending it for Stella to take....... before Poliwag sprayed a little bit of water at Paul's face in response to Absol getting a second treat.

Stella giggled at Poliwag's reaction. "Sure..." She said in response, walking up to Paul and taking a treat from him. "But, you'll have to give some to the other pokemon as well." She added playfully.

 

Stella walked up to Absol and gave him the treat, trying to be as carefree as possible. Absol took the treat quickly, not realizing how cautious Stella was being.

Leon looked rather surprised when Growlithe's Ember attack did little to no damage. Before he knew it Jasmine had already commanded her Pokemon to attack. "Flame Wheel!" Leon yelled almost instinctively. Growlithe ran twords the spinning Bronzor and released a flame from his mouth which engulfed Growlithe as he rolled into Bronzor, causing a small explosion that knocked both Pokemon back a bit.

 

~Okay this isn't going well.~ Leon thought to himself. ~My super effective Pokemon isn't super effective against this thing and Jasmine is a lot stronger than I thought.~ Leon was in quite a bind, until he remembered something about Bronzor's typing. "Wait Bronzor's part Psychic type." Leon said quietly while thinking out loud. "That means...." a small smile grew on Leon's face. "Use Bite Growlithe!" "Grrrrowl!!!" Growlithe cried out as it ran towards Bronzor and starting biting it viciously, ignoring the fact that it kinda hurt to bite steel.

"Crikey!"

I stepped off the boat and saw the most beautiful clouds. Jason pattered along beside, hopping about and sniffing things like he thought was fun. I wished he wouldn't, but I didn't have the heart to tell 'im, he looked so cute. Other people looked at me odd, but they usually did. I ran over to the start of one of the routes, dug out my old binoculars, and started peering around for some Pokémon.

Xatio looked up at Spearow, who was sat on his head."So, I guess we may as well explore while we're here. Where to, Spearow?" Spearow pointed at a large lighthouse with her wing, which made itself very obvious among the rest of the city. "Spear-row!". They made their way towards the building, observing the surrounding areas. Upon arriving, he noticed he was not the first to decide to visit said landmark, as there were already two trainers, which, by the looks of it, were getting ready to battle. He decided to sit back and watch, as he did not want to interrupt.

About half the copies had been destroyed when not only the real Plusle and Minun leapt, but all the copies did as well. The Sneasel was fast enough to duck under an electrified Plusle, which soared over it and collided with one of the large boulders strewn across the beach, which promptly cracked open. Shuppet was not as lucky, as Minun caught it right in the midriff, and it toppled out of the air. 

 

The blonde Team Rocket member squealed in dismay, and withdrew his Shuppet, turning to flee.

 

Luna nodded casually and took a few steps back so they had some more room to fight. She looked at Gastly and, without her saying anything, Gastly nodded and floated out so he was just several feet away from Aipom. "Ready when you are." She said, grinning.

Aipom began to dash at the Gastly at an astonishing speed. In fact, there were times it would blip back and forth from side to side, too fast for the eye to follow.

((Technically the Steel type would nullify the type advantage of dark on psychic, but I'll give it to you here.))

 

With a squeal that sounded like it might have been autotuned, Bronzor instinctively raised, coming to rest hovering about six feet off the ground. Growlithe managed to grab it and cling on by its mouth. "Bronzor, use Metal Sound!" 

 

Immediately, Bronzor began to emit a horrible screeching noise. It was deafening. Several spectators who had entered to watch Jasmine battle screwed up their faces or clapped their hands over their ears, cringing. 

 

"Crikey!"

I stepped off the boat and saw the most beautiful clouds. Jason pattered along beside, hopping about and sniffing things like he thought was fun. Route 39. Farfetch'd are still resting on the fenceposts. Several yellow forms are visible clinging to a tree that's emitting an odd buzzing sound. The leaves of a second tree are rustling, as if there's something moving around inside it. A blue tuft of fur is visible behind a clump of grass. Far overhead, a group of Hoppip floats along, descending due to a downdraft. The Tauros that were previously here have disappeared, but the Snubbull have returned, somewhat hesitantly. 

 

Two trainers stand in a clearing not far off the main path. With them stand a Tauros, a Poliwag, an Absol, and an Oddish.
