I just recently obtained a full version of FL studios and Virtual DJ.
I was wondering if there was some way you guys could show me how to make a nice pony step of some sort. I have a microphone so we could talk.Send me Skype information if you are interested.

1. Do not call FL Studio as a plural, you look like someone with no hope in such program if you do this, e.g. "yo manz, I jus got some FL Studios, time to make som sick beatz", ....please.....no

2. Virtual DJ is NOT for making music, It's for performing DJ, Loading samples and creating mixes, If you want to make mixes for youtube and such, good, but I would get a decent DJ controller, or maybe even an audio interface for turntables, if not, make sure you got a big library full of music you can mix

3. Pony step = Dubstep?

Sorry for being a little rude at the start, but you need to be a little more serious about this if you want to make progress in it (Really hard to tell thanks to the picture on the bottom and the avatar, kinda). But please, I can help you out with FL if you need to, but message me through the forums if you want my skype.

Sorry man, I'm not used to this whole "Forum" thing :P

For the clarification Ponystep is pony dubstep.

And it would be really cool if you could show me some basic's on FL.

Alright, I can help you on what makes people like dubstep. Great beat(with sort of a catchy melody thing), better build up, beast bass drop. Then just rinse and repeat. Even though this is drumstep, this would be a great example of what I just said

Haha, that's where I got this beauty. So if you know what people like, then what do you need help with?

I udnerstand dubstep and i understand what people like, Its hard for me to understand FL studio xD

FL Studio is a really complex software that requires a lot of time and devotion. Maybe start with simpler programs like Reason.

I have started with FL, it seems okay, but when you get all those technical plugins/presets, it becomes a whole lot more fun (I suggest Sytrus in FL Studio)

FL Studio is far from harder than Reason. I know because I've used both. I started off using Fruity Loops but now run Reason as it is an over all better program in my opinion. FL Studio is great for some people and I was very reluctant to switch at first but I was required to due to the music composition course I'm taking. Reason was confusing without instruction.

It's not hard to get started, but I would recommend learning the jargon first. If some one tells you you should change your bass from a sine to a saw-tooth wave or to increase the LFO rate on your bass you need to know what they're talking about.

Over all I wish you luck if you'd like some help with composing I'm more into making electronic than specifically "Dubstep" but I'd be glad to help. My Skype is: asdf.firescore I'm usually set to appear offline but I'm on most of the time.

everyone is saying reason. I haven't heard of this yet. So the big ole question of mine is..... Is. it. free. because if it wasn't for my New Zealand friend i wouldn't even have FL studios.

Well I want to learn how to make pony music myself. I have a copy of FL Studios however it is somewhat hard to use. Should I go with Reason or stick with what I've got?

Money is not an issue for me.

Reason if far from free. It's a $450 product in my country (Canada) but it's a worth while program. Stick to FL for now and see if you like it.

It's actually a-lot harder, I rewire it to FL for the synths but I would stick with FL for now, you should look at it after you feel comfortable to DAWs (like FL)

Ponystep? I have Fruity Loops 9: Producer Edition. Have yet to upgrade to 10. I don't know if you'll be able to pick up this plugin on the way, but if you have the money, use Native Instrument's Massive. If not, try to find a free alternative.

I would recommend Sytrus as well. Especially if you don't want to spend any money. I haven't come across other plugins besides these two, but I'm pretty sure you can find a load of VST effects out on the internet.

If you have any questions, I could help you. Just e-mail me at vinylscratch312@gmail.com

"... But MW2's soundtrack is orgasm inducing. Admit it, the music literally changed the campaign from "generic-nuclear-bomb-chase action movie' into 'holy-fucking-shit, hero-going-all-over-the-world, epic-invasion, Jesus-Christ-its-a-f--ing-walrus, justice etc..."
