I've been working on this one for about three months, but not due to how much effort it took. Rather, I've just acquired a tendency to jump inbetween art projects and work on different ones, depending on my mood. Although still, it was quite an effort. Later on in this very same thread, I'll likely be also posting a new reference of Artsy Dreamscapes, my OC, that I've made based on this pose.

Also, yes, she has a pet kitty. Her name is Apple. img-1320514-1-smile.png

Also: THIS IS NOT A VECTOR. I drew it with my own hands. I used some Photoshop tools (like ellipses, or circular stuff)  to assist with very simple shapes, but cannot actually vector for real. Anything curvy and complicated was pretty much just done by me.

Oh wow, people that read this, do click on it so you can see the full size view, it's totally worth it! :P

This is amazing! The quality is really great, and the drawing in general is very pleasing to look at! The OC is staggering aswell, while the cat just boosts the mystery and beauty... happy.png

I have never actually seen any of your previous art work that include ponies, so this has left me a little surprised! :) Very nice work!

Woah.

That is an amazing piece of artwork. Your efforts have paid off. The colors are perfect and I love the little shapes in the back and how they glow. I also like how the stars and moon glow. It really gives them a better feel and they add to the perfection of this art. The cat gives your OC a lot of character and mystery.

Amazing Job! ;)

Very nice vector work. I like Artsy's design a lot (plus she's wearing a pointy hat, that always helps).

*Ominous cracking of knuckles*

-The background looks a bit empty in the middle, maybe add more trees/hills/mountains

-The shading on the ground could be a bit more coherent on the flowers/little green thingies

-Maybe change the clothing's red a bit to differentiate it a bit more from the mane

-Artsy's cutiemarks on the cape would look a bit odd, if it was hanging down naturally, maybe rotate them a bit

Haven't seen my work? Of course you have! My signature is of my own doing. It might look different from this, but that's because I use a different, more unique style than for ponies.

I have a few more lying about the forums here of artwork. Well, a lot more. But most of it is old anyway.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear the cat adds to the picture.

Oh wow, that background is pretty amazing OwO

those colors, the costume... the cat xDDD

all is just so pretty img-1330296-5-biggrin.png

i really like it img-1330296-6-biggrin.png

The cat amuses you? Well, that expression is pretty funny-looking. A lot of people seem to say the background's pretty good, and I'm glad to hear that! That was one of the more challenging parts for me.

Thanks very much! I'm glad to hear that.

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA

What a SECOND!

Let me go back to my profile here and show you a little something...

Please note: My art is NOT vectors, in spite of its resemblance to the original show style. I actually seek to emulate vectors' smooth lines with my hands and draw everything out without tracing.

There you go. img-1330296-8-smile.png Yes, none of this is vectored.

Anyways, I thank you for your criticism! Though the cape is supposed to be blowing in the wind, and have an epic feel to it, which is why it is like that.

Also, the background DID used to have more in it, but it looked extremely cluttered in my opinion. I'm more of a minimalist, preferring less stuff cluttering my eyes. There were many stars and various things and such, but it just looked... bad in my opinion. I did try a tree there, but it made the entire thing look too symmetrical. I'll keep that in mind for later though.

And lastly, about the clothing's red? That's a personal choice, really. That PARTICULAR shade of red is Artsy's red. It is specially chosen, and most of her signature clothing features it. I'd understand this criticism if her entire coat were a red, but I made her tan on purpose instead of choosing the red so that it wouldn't be too much blargh combining. I can see how it blends in a little, but ultimately, I don't spot much of an issue there. The shading helps it blend in less and stuff matching with her hair helps make things a little cohesive.

Still, you have some valid concerns. I'll keep them in mind for later. Thank you. img-1330296-9-biggrin.png
