"Hey Ocean are you ok" Aquaris asked. "Maybe I should leave her she seems to be having troubles with something...I'll just talk to her later"  Aquaris thought as he headed of towards the dam till he saw the tour guide and stopped an waited for the other ponies to get here.

((Sorry, guys. I've been rather lethargic today.))

Eve blinked herself back into existence when the carriage stopped, having been lost in thought. She hopped out of it after Scamps, just in time to catch her simply ranting at Cliff.

Her jaw dropped.

Okay, maybe it wasn't unfair on Scamps's part to say all that, maybe it was all true, but in Eve's opinion, it was a seriously low blow nonetheless.

Deciding that simply not acknowledging the situation that had just developed would be the best course of action, Eve nodded, trotting up to Scamps's side. "Yeah, I'm good," Eve murmured. She took a moment to look around and realize Stacy wasn't with them.

Where is she? Eve felt a slight panic raise in her chest, but suppressed it, taking a deep breath.

Dox shrugged and was about to say 'Ok' when the intercom interrupted him. "Huh, seems like we're here... so, do we just wander back to town, or what?" He waited for her answer, he really didn't like being in big groups, but if she wanted to be around here, he was ok with it.

His eyes narrowed, and a hot surge of temper shot through him. A flash of memories flushed through him, and he heard Cloud Chaser’s exasperated voice in his head. “Hey! Maybe you need to start realizing you’re not Celestia’s gift to mares, or Dad for that matter. You had your chance with Dad, now it’s my turn.”

It showed on his face for the space of a second, that overwhelming urge to buck something through a wall, and then it was gone. That wasn’t Cloud, that wasn’t his father, that was just a silly filly throwing down a challenge.

And he never backed down from challenges.

Cliff flicked his tail. “One of my sweethearts? I don’t think so. Maybe you’ve been dating the wrong kind of colt, babe, because I don’t claim fillies.” He laughed, although his amber eyes skimmed the ground. “Lighten up. Get into the spirit of Las Haygus.” The burly pegasus rolled his eyes at Ocean in a friendly manner, and trotted out of the carriage. “Not your fault, sweetheart,” Cliff said to Ocean. “C’mon, let’s go look at the dam.”

He paused, and grinned at Scamps. “By the way, your insulting techniques need a little work. Almost sounded like you cared there, for a minute.”

He brushed past Eve, Scamps and another young filly on his way to the dam, and stopped once he reached the observation deck. The sight of the Hoofer Dam was an awesome sight to behold, a single curve of concrete holding back the raging torrent of water which compressed it. The urge to do a flyover hit him, but he suppressed it. He knew that once he got in the air, it would be difficult not to show off his speed a little, and his headache was still there.

Some fillies were just irritating. Still, she was quite young, and he couldn’t blame her for that.

Berween all these thoughts, and shutting her eyes to hold back memories, she slammed herself into a guardrail, knocking herself out cold as she crumbled to the pavement.

There was a sharp, hard, metallic thud, and Cliff turned around.

"Hey!"

He darted over to her, a blur of blue and white, and nudged her with his nose. She had thrown herself against the guardrail, cutting a dark gash into her forehead and knocking herself out. What had just happened? Cliff laid her flat, and all of his cheerful bravado was gone as he snapped to Eve, "Eve! Get me a cloth! A scarf, or a shirt, or something!"

Cliff was still reeling. Why had she done that? Had he honestly been that cruel? It had been a casual brush-off, nothing more. What was wrong with this filly?

He cradled the crook of her neck with a hoof and kept her mane from sticking against the cut on her head. Ocean was right next to her, looking horrified, and he said urgently, "Hold her still, okay? Keep her head elevated."

The broad Pegasus shot into the sky and punched into a cloud. He tore off a scrap of it with his teeth, getting himself completely soaked in the process, and came back down to the dam. Gently, he let the cloud dissolve into the cut, washing away some of the blood that was already crusting over her eye. Head wounds bled a lot, and being a colt who had been in more than one quick scrape growing up, they could be deeper and more serious than they first appeared.

This filly had just gone from weird to downright insane.

She pressed it around the wound and did her best to stop the bleeding.

She found herself staring at him but she shook her head and looked down at Scamps. *This isn't the time Ocean.* She thought.

"Excellent," He muttered, and took the scarf from Ocean quickly. Carefully, he dabbed the cut, remembering the time he had crash-landed in Ponyville and split his cheek open. The scar was still there, and it had helped when someone just gently blotted away the blood instead of his own clumsy wiping.

The cut was deep - she had thrown herself on the edge of the guardrail, and there was a thick bump already forming beneath her coat. His amber eyes were the most serious they had been in weeks, and he steadily applied pressure to the open wound, leaving it there. "She should get back to the hotel," He muttered under his breath. "Why the hay did she do that?"

Cliff tossed his mane irritably at the knowing tone in Eve's voice. "I've had head injuries before. They hurt like a son of a stud - pardon my Fancy - and they can be serious." Which was true. Years of throwing himself off of cliffs and pulling himself out of steep dives had given him enough concussions to be wary of getting knocked out. He chewed the inside of his lip and his ears twitched when Ocean mentioned his name.

Eve was muttering something about talking trees, and Cliff opened his mouth to respond when he realized he didn't want to get sucked into that conversation. All of these mares are certifiably crazy, he thought to himself, but when a strand of green hair fell into Eve's eyes, he couldn't help but think, Or just crazily attractive.

He noticed Ocean's fear of water, and raised an eyebrow. "It could be slippery, I guess," He said slowly, and realized he was still damp from his foray into the clouds. "And I'm certainly not helping matters." He chuckled dryly, more out of reflex than actual humor. "I've met a lot of unicorns like that. Flying's really only dangerous when you've got sixteen revved up Wonderbolt-wannabes all fighting over a cloud that's barely two feet long."

"Hey, Eve, is it safe to move her?" He wanted to know as the carriage pulled up to the curb. The ponies jumped out, all of them looking as though they feared a lawsuit in the near future.
