It is honorable to solve your problems instead of letting others solve them for you. But asking for help when you need it and swallowing your pride is not only honorable, but prevents you from making a fool of yourself when you screw up.

Yeah, Friday has seemed to creep up on us. It's quite unfortunate (on Tues) I was looking forward to having some spare time. Then, my schedule gets all busy, and I find out I have to more another shift next week D : < I need the money, but I have so much to do. I just sort of want to get it out of the way.

I live a reasonable distance to it. Unfortunately you're really far, but you already knew dat. I'm not a snob, so I am using my own money for this trip. Kind of shitty though I'm in debt atm. I have some saved up money for that incredible sum of debt I owe though. 

 

So I suppose I'm not that smart.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to be offensive. Some people need help. Other's don't. Some people learn about themselves better than others.  Then you have other people that can help. Especially, if you have money, or people that care for you.

 

I actually get offended by people that say they have a mental illness called depression. It actually ticks me off. Maybe, it's just jealousy..  Just the way I see things. Everyone's different.

I think that everyone has a god-given right to walk all over me, and there's nothing I can or should do about it. I feel as though I need to ask permission to feel sad. So I'll ask you: Your comment seems like something that should make me sad. Do I have permission to feel sad?

I'm serious. I actually feel like I don't have control over myself.

 

All I'm going to tell you is that you're wrong about depression. Anxiety is an emotion. One form of depression is a neurological disorder brought on by a lack of monoamines in the brain or those same monoamines being reuptaken too fast resulting in negative moods, lack of interest, and other anxieties. That is not an opinion. It is a fact that has been proven scientifically.

 

Again, what you're describing is anxiety. To be more clear, I should refer to depression as clinical depression. It's easy to say, "I'm depressed" and not refer to the actual disease.

 

I have a neurological disorder. Not enough neurotransmitters in the right places.

 

The only reason I'm continuing this argument is because I have such little confidence in myself that I can't just "let things go". If I was to stop talking, I'd be thinking to myself, "What if he's right? I'm probably wrong." I have zero confidence in myself, so I feel the need to argue my point in the vain hope that someone else will agree with me. I need constant validation, or else I doubt myself, and then I get anxious about it.

 

Ergo, why I asked you if it was okay for me to feel sad. When I get offended, a voice in my head says, "You deserved it. You're never right. You're never allowed to be upset."

Personally I think it's very normal to be sad. To be disappointed, and to feel dejected. What's not normal is to revel in it without trying to set things right.

 

I know it's not possible for me to understand what is it you're feeling right now... But you should try occupy yourself with something attention-consuming.
